تشغيل برنامج Norton Ghost من الفلاش ميمورى USB

بناء على طلب الكثير من الاصدقاء والمتابعين حول موضوع الجوست واهميته عن الفورمات العادى ، هو ان الجوست اسرع ولا يأخذ وقت طويل ، ويتناسب مع اغلب الاجهزة ونظم التشغيل ، وسوف نتعرف اليوم على كيفية تحويل فلاشة ميمورى USB الى نسخة جوست  تصلح لكافة الاجهزة ويمكنك البووت من خلالها باستخدام برنامج النورتن جوست.

فائدة الجوست : 1- يصلح لجميع الاجهزة. 2- يتناسب مع اغلب نظم التشغيل. 3-  سريع ولا يأخذ وقت مقارنة بالفورمات العادى. 4- يشمل غالبا التعريفات فى نظامه. والان سوف نقوم باستخدام فلاش ميمورى بحجم 4 جيجا بايت لتحويلها الى اداة بوت يمكن من خلالها عمل جوست لاى جهاز.

وسوف نحتاج الى برنامجين هما برنامج Format USB لعمل فورمات للفلاش ميمورى بطريقة معينة ويمكن تحميل البرنامج من الرابط التالي: http://www.mediafire.com/download/5c96mceeplyvwhn/Format+USB.rar

وايضا سوف نحتاج الى ملف الـ Usboot Norton Ghost لتحويل الفلاشة الى نسخة بوت لبرنامج النورتن جوست ويمكن التحميل من خلال الرابط التالي: http://www.mediafire.com/download/42914n0asj6bdx6/Usboot+Norton+Ghost.rar والبرنامجين حجمها ليس كبير ، وبعد الانتهاء من التحميل نقوم بفتح برنامج Format USB من خلال الادارة كمسئول او Run as administrator.

تظهر لنا واجهة البرنامج على الشكل التالي نقوم بتحديد الفلاشة المطلوب عمل فورمات لها ثم بوت للتورتن جوست : 1- Device مكان الفلاش ميمورى ورمزها هنا عندي حرف الـ F. 2- نوع الفورمات FAT32. 3- Volume Lable تسمية الفلاشة وسوف اقوم بتسميتها باسم Ghost. 4- Format Device اقوم بتحديد هذا الخيار للفورمات. Create a Dos Startup Disk لإنشاء نافذة الدوس نقوم بتحديد هذا الخيار الهام ايضا ثم نقوم بالضغط على خيار Using Dos System File Located at : لجلب ملف البوت للفلاشة ، وبالطبع قبل عمل ذلك نكون قد فككنا الضغط عن ملف البوت او ملف Usboot Norton Ghost وذلك لأننا سوف نقوم بجلب ملف Boot منه الى الفلاشة ميمورى اثناء عمل الفورمات ، وبعد اختيار الملف المطلوب ،نضغط على موافق للمتابعة.

بعد ذلك نضغط على Start للبدء في الفورمات وانشاء ملفات البوت فى الفلاشة وسوف تظهر لنا بالطبع رسالة تحذيرية بان كل البيانات الموجودة على الفلاش ميمورى سوف يتم حذفها فنوافق بالطبع وننتظر قليلا حتى تظهر لنا رسالة بنجاح الفورمات وانشاء الملفات المطلوبة ، ثم نقوم بإغلاق نافذة Format Tools ، بعد ذلك نقوم بنقل كل ملفات Usboot Norton Ghost  الى الفلاشة باستثناء ملف Boot .

بعد الانتهاء من نقل الملفات المطلوبة من ملف Usboot Norton Ghost ما عدا ملف البوت Boot بالطبع ، نقوم بعمل اعادة تشغيل للحاسوب ، ونختار بالطبع البوت من خلال الفلاش ميمورى ، بعد ذلك تظهر لنا واجهة برنامج النورتن جوست الرئيسية وتشمل :  1 – نختار Local   2 – نختار Partition  3 –  To Image  لإنشاء نسخة الجوست لأى نظام تشغيل. From Image لاسترجاع نسخة الجوست لأى نظام تشغيل وبالطبع تكون نسخة الجوست محفوظة مسبقا على الجهاز. نصيحة عزيزي مستخدم الكمبيوتر عليك اولا بتعلم كيفية انشاء الجوست او استرجاعه جيدا لان اى خطا قد يتسبب لك بمشكلة في الهارد ديسك انت في غنى عنها.

وفى النهاية نكون قد تعرفنا على كيفية تحويل الفلاش ميمورى الى نسخة جوست تصلح للبوت من خلالها لكافة الاجهزة وذلك باستخدام برنامج النورتن جوست ، والى اللقاء فى دروس اخرى قادمة ، شكرا لكم.

For the past 3 days I have been working with getting an 8 gig USB flash drive to be bootable and put two images on the drive for imaging.  When I use GBW it formats the 8gb USB Flash drive to 1.90gb and no larger.  This isn't cutting it for me.

I then tried the steps located at this page

Those instructions made it possible to get the 8gb USB Flash drive to boot and be the full 8gb.  I loaded my imaged and the ghost.exe file on the drive.  Everything booted, ghost loaded and when I started the image I was told the files was not a ghost image.  I know the image is good, I booted off a ghost floppy set and used the image located on the 8gb USB Flash drive to load the system.  The file is good and has been tested but it will not work booting straight from the 8gb USB Flash drive.  I gave up on this method.

My next adventure was to get FlashBoot and try it.  The largest the 8gb USB Flash drive would format is 3.65gb and it will boot.  I copied the ghost.exe and image to that and attempted the boot and clone.  Everything seemed to work and it started the ghost clone and then the following errors showed up.  10008 & 10022.  I am at a total loss now and have no more options to try.

Anyone have any ideas?

I think we may have found the cause of this problem by accident looking at quite a different problem. Apparently some manufactures format flash drives as "superdisks" meaning they this drive is not your normal hard disk drive, it has no mbr, no partition table etc. just one volume spanning entire usb disk. While this is rear this will cause GBW to exit. Unfortunately there is no way to reformat usb correctly so that it can be used by GBW. Good news is that we have fixed this problem and fix will be available in the next LU.

Norton Ghost is one of the best tools that can help us create disk image , backup selected partitions or any important file. And you can boot into the Norton Ghost recovery environment with a recovery disk to restore image backup or troubleshoot other problems.

To enter the Norton Ghost recovery environment, you can make a recovery disk by clicking Tools > Create Custom Recovery Disk CD . However, it only allows you to create custom recovery disk with CD while there is no built-in CD/DVD drive for most recent computers.

Fortunately, it’s possible to create Norton Ghost bootable USB to help you boot into the recovery environment. Check the next part to get the detailed steps.

Here in this part, we will tell you how to make Norton Ghost bootable USB in Windows 10/8/7. Although the whole process is kind of complicated, all you need to do is read them through. To create Norton Ghost bootable USB, first, you should format the USB flash drive to NTFS and then copy the contents of the Norton Ghost recovery disk to the USB. Here we take make Norton Ghost 15 bootable USB as an example.

Notes:   ◆ Now you can still download the latest version, Norton Ghost 15. It only offers you the 30-day free trial version and then you need to pay for it. ◆ It will erase all the data on the USB drive, so backup your USB flash drive in advance with USB backup software if there's any important stored on it.

Step 1. Format USB flash drive

• Insert your USB flash drive and open Command Prompt: type “cmd” in the search box > right-click Command Prompt and choose “Run as administrator”.
• Type “ diskpart ” and press Enter to launch the DiskPart utility.
• Type “ list disk ” and press Enter to locate the drive number of your flash drive.

• Enter the following commands one by one and wait for each step to complete. Please remember to replace the “x” with the USB’ s drive number that appeared in the "list disk" command.

select disk x

create partition primary

select partition 1

format fs=ntfs quick

• Then, the DiskPart utility will close and you will see the standard Windows command prompt. Enter the following commands:

cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Norton Ghost\Agent"

bootsect /nt60 x:

Notes: ◆ If you installed Norton Ghost in another folder on the hard drive, please type the correct location. ◆ Replace “ x ” with the correct letter of your flash drive. ◆ If your computer supports Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI), you should format the USB flash drive as FAT32 instead of NTFS. To format the partition as FAT32, type format fs=fat32 quick, and then click Enter.

Step 2. Copy the contents of the Norton Ghost recovery disk

Insert the recovery CD and copy of its files to the bootable USB flash drive. Or if the recovery disk is an ISO image file, you can mount the ISO with a virtual drive program and then copy the files to the USB driver.

You can also create and store image backup to that USB, then when your computer goes wrong, you can boot your computer from the USB drive and perform a restore.

Step 3. Boot & restore from Norton Ghost bootable USB

Now you can test the Norton Ghost bootable USB flash drive. Restart your computer and enter the BIOS boot options menu. Choose the bootable USB drive and boot your computer from it.

•  When Ghost launch, click OK to continue.
• From the menu, click Local > Disk > From Image .

• Then it will ask for the source image. Choose the image you want to restore.
• Select the destination drive and OK to confirm. 

As you can see, the whole process is kind of time-consuming and you may meet some unexpected errors because of improper operation. Step 1. Download the following two archive software and run the format tool as administrator .

Step 2. Configure USB drive. 

Select your USB drive under Device and FAT32 as file system, then tick the format options, Format Device and Create a DOS startup disk , select Boot folder of Boot Norton Ghost by clicking the three dots and click OK . After that, click Start to mount DOS system files.

Step 4. Click Yes when you are asked if you are really want to process with Format. Then, click OK.

Step 5. Copy all the content of Boot Norton Ghost folder without Boot folder, and paste to USB drive. 

Now, you've got a Norton Ghost bootable USB. To boot from it, see Step 3 on the previous part.

Making a Norton Ghost Bootable USB Drive

Norton Ghost boot from USB

• Download the ISO from Here
• Extract the contents to a new folder on your hard disk (e.g. using SlySoft Virtual CloneDrive from here  or any other ISO extraction/mounting tool)
• Run RMPrepUSB (Here) and select: 1. MAX size 2. Volume label SRD or anything else you prefer 3. WinPE v2 (BOOTMGR) 4. NTFS 5. Set to  your extracted folder and tick the Copy Files box 6. Click Prepare Drive
• When finished Click on Eject

creating a boot ghost usb

I have created a ghost image for windows 10 pro which is saved on external hdd, now I need to creat a boot ghosso that I can boot from a usb and browse my image please help with steps
