Tanuki  Mario soars over a Goomba, Boo, and Bob-omb among mushrooms and stars towards Bowser, who looks prepared to release an enormous Bullet Bill towards him. The sizing of the characters and the way each one is layered to show them off equally is a true feat of artistic talent and why this tattoo deserves at least a 1-up if not two.

Anyone even vaguely familiar with  Luigi's Mansion will instantly recognize the game's star in his cover-art form from the 2005 Gamecube classic. Although this tattoo isn't the most complex, it is highly detailed in ways that are pleasing to the eye if only subconsciously.

Luigi's nose and the red ghost's forehead shine with a hint of white detailing and texturing, and the way everyone is positioned gives the illusion that they're bursting out from the haunted mansion behind them. Mix that with the light purple shadowing all-around and you realize there's a lot of work that was put into getting every detail just right here.

2 The Ultimate Dedication

Although this might be cheating a bit with this tattoo incorporating more  Nintendo characters than just those from the main  Super Mario games, it's simply too staggering to ignore. Wrapping around this gentleman's entire left side this piece would have taken several sessions of multiple hours to complete, much of which would have been spent in a great deal of pain. Its sprawling and inclusive nature evokes thoughts of the    Smash Bros. franchise, with lines radiating outward from the  Nintendo trademark as if showing-off its biggest stars. All the classic faces you're familiar with can be seen represented here in vivid detail.

1 This Mix Of New And Old School

Mario and the gang have been through a lot in their nearly forty years of existence , witnessing the jump from arcades and 8-bit graphics to glorious HD on home consoles. This tattoo pays homage to that evolution by taking the blocky 1985  Super Mario Bros.  design and fusing it with its highly-defined 3-D counterpart of the modern age. The split between the two designs of Mario make it appear as if the plumber is crossing through a portal from another plane of existence, with various tactfully placed motion lines giving the effect of movement to the entire artwork. The green pipe underneath Mario has great curvature, represented subtly via the stickers of Mushroom Kingdom items wrapping around its upper rim. The way the pipe trails off in a paint-splatter also uniquely rounds-out the entire tattoo's modern style. It's all these reasons that make this tattoo most deserving of a green mushroom.

Boo Mario is a form of Mario that debuted in Super Mario Galaxy . As its name implies, the Boo Mario form is Mario disguised as a Boo , although his hat and face remain respective of his normal form. Boo Luigi , the equivalent form of Luigi , shares the same traits though with his respective features and a more oval-shaped body. In Super Mario Galaxy , Luigi has a worried look on his face, referencing his fear of ghosts, though he does not in Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition .

Mario first uses this transformation in the Ghostly Galaxy to rescue Luigi . Because Luigi is afraid of ghosts, he cowers when Mario approaches him in Boo form; therefore, Mario must return to his normal form beforehand. It is also used in Boo's Boneyard Galaxy and Sand Spiral Galaxy .

This power-up returns in Super Mario Galaxy 2 , in the mission " Haunting the Howling Tower " of Boo Moon Galaxy , where the power-up is very widely used.

Boo Mario appears in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U as a trophy . As with most trophies in the game, it can be obtained when it appears at random in one of the game's modes, such as Vs. or the Trophy Shop.

Boo Mario makes an appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Novice-class support spirit . When used, it increases the fighter's jump height and move speed but makes them easier to launch. The spirit's puppet fighter is an invisible Mario, fought on the Dracula's Castle stage.

Boo Mario's core can be combined with Ezlo 's core to summon Cappy 's spirit, or with a Shy Guy 's core to summon Roger the Potted Ghost 's spirit.

Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition [ edit ]

Boo Mario's Skill is Ghost Attack, which turns all of the orbs in the level into Fire Orbs , Wood Orbs , and Dark Orbs . His Leader Skill is Ghost Power, which raises the player's team's ATK stat by 2.5x after attacking with 3+ attributes at once.

Boo Luigi's Skill is Ghost Trick, which lets the player move Orbs anywhere they want for six seconds. The Skill has no effect in Score Attack. His Leader Skill is Ghost Aura, which has the same effect as Boo Mario's Leader Skill, Ghost Power.

• Trading card bio: In the deep recesses of the Ghostly Galaxy , strange and frightening spirits are after Mario. To help Mario navigate this scary place, he can grab a Boo Mushroom and power up to become Boo Mario! This allows him to become invisible, float like a Boo , and pass through walls.
