‘Ghost Adventures’ 2023 Season Kicks Off at Lake Mead

Ghost Adventures star Zak Bagans promises the upcoming 2023 season is going to be insane and will feature “mountains” of supernatural evidence. “I can’t wait to share our findings with longtime fans and capture the attention of new viewers. I’m grateful to be able to expand the reach of what Ghost Adventures has always set out to do – build a better understanding of the afterlife,” stated Bagans.

The new season will premiere on Discovery Channel on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT.

“ Ghost Adventures is one of the many successful franchises in the Warner Bros. Discovery portfolio and we can continue to help it grow by sharing it with a much larger audience on Discovery,” said Kathleen Finch, Chairman and Chief Content Officer, US Networks Group, Warner Bros. Discovery. “One of the benefits of having an incredible network ecosystem is that we can find new ways to amplify great content, super serve passionate fans of each genre, and introduce new audiences to additional content that will appeal to them.”

Paranormal investigators Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley, and Billy Tolley return to guide supernatural fans through spooky investigations. 10+ million viewers tuned into it on Travel Channel last season, making the series cable’s top non-sport/news program in its timeslot.

Discovery Channel released the following details on the new season:

Each episode of Ghost Adventures features the investigative team as they travel to haunted locations in search of evidence of the afterlife and meet with locals, eyewitnesses, and experts to piece together the haunted history of each site. Their comprehensive investigations use the latest scientific gadgets and technology to capture physical evidence of the paranormal and gain a better understanding of each supernatural mystery.

During the supersized premiere, Ghost Adventures: Lake of Death , along the sprawling shores of Lake Mead, an attack by an anxiety-inducing spirit brings Bagans to his knees and fearing for his life.

Other stories this season include the team’s investigations of paranormal evidence at locations such as Los Angeles’ Barclay Hotel, whose grisly history rivals that of the infamous Hotel Cecil; California’s first oil boomtown, Mentryville, which is teeming with paranormal chaos; The Commercial Casino and Hotel in Elko, Nevada with a lawless history that now fuels a malevolent energy; and Los Angeles’ peculiar Longfellow-Hastings Octagon House that’s brimming with poltergeist activity.

The team behind “ Ghost Adventures ” have a paranormal surprise for viewers of Discovery Channel .

The series, which has been screened on Warner Bros. Discovery’s Travel Channel and then Discovery+,, will get a showcase on Discovery on Wednesday, May 31. at 10 p.m., when the network airs a two-hour special episode that kicks off its 24th cycle. The special stars paranormal investigators Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley and Billy Tolley investigating secrets along the Hoover Dam’s Lake Mead.

The scheduling maneuver is the latest from Warner Bros. Discovery as it seeks to push audiences of its various networks to shows they may not have seen. This year’s “Puppy Bowl,” an Animal Planet staple for years. was simulcast across that network as well as Discovery Channel, TBS, HBO Max and Discovery+ in a bid to get the property in front of viewers who may not have sampled it in the past. The company simulcast its long-running “Impractical Jokers” series , normally seen on TruTV, on that network and TBS as well.

Each episode of “Ghost Adventures” features the investigative team traveling to haunted locations in search of evidence of the afterlife. Their probes tap the latest scientific gadgets and technology to capture physical evidence of the paranormal and gain a better understanding of each supernatural mystery.

“Fans can expect insane investigations and mountains of paranormal evidence this season. I can’t wait to share our findings with longtime fans and capture the attention of new viewers. I’m grateful to be able to expand the reach of what ‘Ghost Adventures’ has always set out to do – build a better understanding of the afterlife,” said Bagans, in a statement.

I've been a fan of Ghost Adventures since day 1. All these 1 star ⭐️ reviews whining about Zak and Billy are just stupid. They are they same as they have always been ! Nothing has changed . They aren't fake and definitely aren't trying to hard. They are being real. Themselves. Stop hating on them clearly they have done SOMETHING right to be on air this long. They always have compelling evidence, and they are animated bc they get excited about what they find! Who wouldn't?!?! I mean come on. Watch every single episode and look at all the evidence they have shared with us! It's amazing . I absolutely love Ghost Adventures and will always be a fan!

Reductive, overly scripted and basically an hour of the host trying to impress with vocabulary

Zak and Billy are killing the show. It's the same thing every week with them both. Billy: Omg I feel energy OMG Zak can you feel this energy? Zak come rub this energy, Zak let this energy flow into your mouth Zak. Zak: I'm gonna abuse my friends and claim it was because I am possessed and not a terrible person. Arron and Jay are awesome! Both should honestly make their own show and ditch the other 2 clowns.

Loving the new season! All the guys are animated and it makes me want to watch more. The reactions reminds me of what I would be like. They seem true and genuine. I will watch GA as long as they are making them.

These guys are um, so stupid and immature, every blip is a phantom presence ooh. They scream like a bunch of schoolchildren high on caffeine and sugar, I cannot see how anyone can enjoy this. I watched Ghost Hunters way back and so much of the "findings" on Ghost Adventures is laughable to say the least...

An all-new season of the paranormal series kicks off Wednesday, May 31, with Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley and Billy Tolley in a special two-hour episode, "Ghost Adventures: Lake of Death," investigating the deadly secrets hiding in the Hoover Dam's Lake Mead. Ahead of the premiere, PopCulture.com has an exclusive first look at the terrifying new chapter for Ghost Adventures .

"What you're looking at behind me, that's Lake Mead, where bodies continue to be found," Bagans says in the sneak peek. As headlines flash on the screen revealing a history of accidents, murder, and mystery since the largest reservoir in the United States was built in 1936, Bagans continues, "At 112 miles long, it has brought family and friends together to enjoy a refreshing relief from the desert heat. But with all of the good, its ominous side is immeasurable."

"With an incredible amount of accidental fatalities, it happens to be the perfect location for murders," he notes. "And with global warming drying up the lake at a rapid pace, the secrets of death emerge every day. With every inch of receding water, another dark story is revealed." The series “Ghost Adventures” began in 2008 on Travel Channel. The reality TV series moved to Discovery+ streaming service in 2021. 

The series chronicles the investigations of ghost hunters and paranormal investigators Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley, and Jay Wasley. Before becoming a TV series, “Ghost Adventures” was a documentary-style independent film in 2006.

Each episode explores a new location around the U.S. that has a record of paranormal activity.

The team of co-investigators will lock itself away for a night in haunted locations with video and surveillance equipment to record its findings. The first episode of Season 1 starts at “Bobby Mackey’s Music World,” a Wilder, Kentucky honky-tonk known for unexplained ghostly encounters. 

The success of “Ghost Hunters” has led to similar ghost-hunting shows, including a series of Ghost Adventure spin-offs. The series has also involved celebrity guests on some episodes.

Guests have included Vince Neil in “The Riviera Hotel” (Season 7, Episode 7) and Post Malone “The Slaughter House” (Season 17, Episode 17).

Is Ghost Adventures canceled?

No. In fact, new episodes of Season 26 began streaming on May 31, 2023. The latest episodes are on Discovery Channel and Max.

Season 26 of “Ghost Adventures” is currently airing new episodes.   Every episode of “Ghost Adventures” is available to stream on Max.

The 26 seasons does not count any of the spin-off shows or special episodes such as “Ghost Adventures: Quarantine” or “Ghost Adventures: Screaming Room”.

‘Ghost Adventures’ Zak Bagans Makes HUGE Announcement

Ghost Adventures  lead investigator Zak Bagans went to social media to share a huge announcement for fans. There are two parts to his announcement that most will be excited to hear. What is Zak sharing about the future of the Ghost Adventures  series? Keep reading to find out more.

Zak Bagans makes HUGE announcement about the future of  Ghost Adventures

Ghost Adventures  is heading back to the spotlight. After premiering and airing for several years on the Travel Channel, then Discovery+, the hit paranormal series is finding a new home on the Discovery Channel. Lead investigators Zak Bagans shared the news on social media that fans can see a brand new season premiering at the end of May.

The news was shared on Facebook in which Zak himself made the announcement. He said his news would help brighten everyone’s days as he went on to share the exciting announcement. Zak noted it’s one of his favorite channels and that the evidence they found during their investigations for the upcoming season is some of the most astounding yet.

The show has had incredible success. The team featuring Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley and Billy Tolley continues to search for evidence of the afterlife.

Variety  shared what Zak had to say. He said, “Fans can expect insane investigations and mountains of paranormal evidence this season. I can’t wait to share our findings with longtime fans and capture the attention of new viewers. I’m grateful to be able to expand the reach of what Ghost Adventures has always set out to do – build a better understanding of the afterlife.”

Fans are in for a treat as this premiere episode will be a two-hour-long special.

Why the move to the Discovery Channel? The network is hoping to stretch its outreach and gain viewers who have never watched the series before.

The premiere episode

Ghost Adventures  premiere episode on the Discovery Channel is titled “Lake of Death” and is about secrets along Hoover Dam’s Lake Mead. This investigation will bring Zak to his knees when an anxiety-inducing spirit affects him.

The team will work to uncover some of the deadly secrets that lie within Lake Mead.

No doubt as always Zak and the  Ghost Adventures  crew will have fans on the edge of their seats as they attempt to gather strong evidence that life after death exists.

Love the show from day one. but I do use discovery much. kind iof sad it’s only on there..now.not a fan of that soci al media.

That is sad to hear. I was a regular Couch Potato on Ghost Adventure days. My husband thought I was nuts. Too many streaming channels. I will really miss them, but I work for a living.

About the Show

Paranormal investigators Zak Bagans and Aaron Goodwin, along with A/V techs Billy Tolley and Jay Wasley, travel to haunted destinations where they meet with eyewitnesses and experts to piece together the haunted history of each site. They then begin a dusk-to-dawn lockdown investigation, using the latest technology to confront the reported paranormal activity and document key evidence in an effort to uncover the truth behind each haunting mystery.
