Sketch Tutorials

Supplies used: For my regular drawings I start with a black Sharpie fine point marker. I then use Bianyo brand markers to color them in or you can use whatever you feel most comfortable with. I’m also drawing on printer friendly paper to prevent ink bleeding.

For my sketch tutorials I experiment with various pencil brands but right now I’m happy using black Staedtler 2B-8B pencils on sketch paper. My go to is the 4B pencil.

How To Draw Ghost Face

With Halloween just around the corner, now is the perfect time to learn how to draw Ghost Face, the iconic killer from the Scream movie franchise. This easy step-by-step tutorial will have you drawing Ghost Face in no time.

Start by drawing a large oval for the head. Then, add two smaller ovals for the eyes. Next, draw a curved line for the mouth. Finally, add some lines for the nose and eyebrows.

Now that the basic shape of the face is complete, it’s time to start adding some details. For the eyes, draw two small circles in the center of each oval. Then, add a large circle around each one. For the mouth, draw a curved line that starts and ends at the corners of the oval.

The last step is to add some final details, such as a nose and some ears. The nose can be as simple as a small dot, or you can add a more complex nose by drawing a curved line. As for the ears, you can either draw them as simple lobes, or you can add some inner ear details.

Once you’ve added all of the details, you’re finished! Your ghost face is now complete, and ready to scare all of your friends!

When it comes to drawing a ghost, it’s all about it’s facial expressions – you can make a scary ghost, a friendly one, silly looking one… It’s all in the face. That said, we’ll be drawing a friendly, not scary ghost.

What you need:

• our printable template (optional)
• pencil or black marker

Step by Step Ghost Drawing Instructions

Start by drawing a curved shape (like a upside down letter U). This will be the top part of the ghost’s head.

Draw hands – you can keep them simple, with drawing “U” shapes, or make them more detailed.

Let’s start working on the body. Start on the left side, drawing a curved line from the hand downwards.

Now move to the right side and draw another curved line, ending it above the first one.

Complete with the wiggly “tail”.

Now comes the face. If you want your ghost to look happy, draw “normal” eyes, and a “moon” shaped mouth. This way your ghost won’t look scary at all.

If you want a scary one, color the eyes all black and draw the “moon” shape with it’s end points turned downwards. You can even add a diagonal line on top of the eyes to make the ghost look angry. Scary isn’t it.

All done, you have learned how to draw a ghost!

Ghosts are one of the world's most popular mythological figures. The exact definitions can vary, but most people agree that a ghost is a spirit or form of energy that walks the earth after the body has passed away.

People all over the world have reported seeing ghosts, particularly in old houses, mansions and cemeteries.

Ghost myths are so popular that they've inspired thousands of books, movies, comics, video games and TV shows. Casper the Friendly Ghost is a popular cartoon character that was introduced to audiences in the 1940s. Other examples include "Monster House" and the Ghostbusters film series.

Since ghosts can be anyone and do just about anything, you can come up with hundreds of stories for your cartoon ghost.

This guide teaches you how to draw a ghost at home. All you need is your drawing tools and a few sheets of paper in case you make a mistake and have to start over.

You can color your ghost whatever color you want, but most ghosts are black-and-white. However, that doesn't mean you have to leave the page white. Different shades of grey add depth to the picture and make your ghost leap off the page.

Follow these steps to make your very own ghost at home.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Ghost

How to Draw a Great Looking Ghost for Kids, Beginners, and Adults - Step 1

1. Start with two curved dashes like small hills. Draw large ovals on top, then add another curve to each of the ovals to give the shapes more depth.

2. Draw a half-circle underneath the eyes , then sketch a curve underneath to form the mouth. Use small curved lines to add details around the face.

3. Start on the right and make a curved line, then continue upward until you reach the top of the head. Make a rounded line like the top of a dome. Add a hook, then draw a semi-parallel line underneath to create a long shape like a swirl of ice cream .

5. Make a hot dog shape for the thumb. For the fingers, draw three small ovals, making sure that they overlap. Use lines to connect the shapes and form the hand.

6. Sketch lines inside the hand to add creases to the palm. On the right, draw another squiggly line. Make another loose oval shape, and attach it to the head with a curve.

8. Sketch a sweeping curve for the chest, then draw another curve that swoops outward. Draw the line upward into a point and sweep it down again. Add a short line at the middle of the body.

9. Complete the body with a single line that swirls and has jagged edges. Make sure the body ends in a point at the bottom.

Color Your Ghost Drawing

Outline your drawing with a black pen or marker, then erase all the extra pencil lines.

You've now drawn a cartoon ghost! Since ghosts are traditionally white, you'll need different shades of grey to color your drawing.

Use a darker shade of grey for the shadows. For the eyes and mouth, use black or dark grey.
