Explore meticulously-crafted regions showcasing diversity of life on the sprawling island—from billowing fields and tranquil shrines to ancient forests, villages and stark mountainscapes. Find peace in the quiet moments of natural harmony and solace in the moments you’ll share with the people you help along the way.
The rise of the Ghost
Jin was raised and trained in the ways of the samurai. When the Mongols handily defeat the samurai forces, Jin’s world is shattered. He is faced with the most difficult decision of his life: honor the tradition and customs of his samurai upbringing and maintain a fight he cannot win, or deviate from his samurai path to protect the island and its people by any means necessary.
In his quest to reclaim Tsushima, Jin must seek the guidance and support of old friends and new unlikely allies. He must break away from tradition, become a new kind of warrior, and protect what’s left of his home at all costs.

Ghost of Tsushima characters
Meet some of the characters you'll encounter on your journey.
While Jin starts the game as a samurai, he’ll learn skills and adopt tactics that are decidedly not samurai-like and begin to form his new identity, The Ghost. As you play, you’ll learn more about Jin, the threats he faces, the allies that help him along his journey, and what he’ll have to give up to become this new kind of warrior.
Shimura is the jito (lord) of Tsushima. He is a samurai as well as uncle and father figure to Jin. He’s trained Jin since childhood in the traditional ways of the samurai, and grows increasingly concerned by the tactics Jin starts to adopt as he abandons his teachings and becomes The Ghost.
Khotun Khan
Khan is a Mongol general and leader of the Mongol army invading Tsushima Island. Khan is a ruthless, cunning enemy who uses everything he knows about the samurai to try to destroy them. He’s a brutal, unrelenting adversary that Jin will quickly learn not to underestimate.

Ghost of Tsushima playlists
In Ghost of Tsushima’s original soundtrack, composers Ilan Eshkeri and Shigeru Umebayashi take listeners on a spirited journey through ancient Japan. Tracks written by Eshkeri serve as the sonic companion to the game’s narrative; music written by Umebayashi covers the exploratory, open-world dimension of the game.
Sound of the Storm offers listeners a view of that journey through a contemporary lens — the rise of the Ghost, reimagined by some of today’s most inspiring artists. This is a conceptual remix album based on select tracks from Ghost of Tsushima’s original soundtrack. The four-song EP features electronic artists Tycho, TOKiMONSTA, Alessandro Cortini, and The Glitch Mob performing their unique transformative interpretations of the game’s original score.

Ghost of Tsushima

- Similar Games
Ghost of Tsushima is an open-world, action-adventure game, developed by Sucker Punch and produced by Sony, exclusively for the Playstation 4. The game was released on July 17, 2020.
Set on Tsushima Island, in the year 1274, at the time of the First Mongol Invasion of Japan. The Mongols, led by General Khotun Khan, have invaded Tsushima and slaughtered most of the samurai there with unconventional military tactics. Jin Sakai, a samurai and one of the few survivors of the initial attack, is saved from the brink of death by a thief, and tries to get revenge on Khotun to save his uncle, Lord Shimura, but Khotun easily knocks him off a bridge. Jin then reluctantly learns how to fight like a dishonorable Ghost, combined with his own Samurai techniques, to rescue his uncle and eventually expel the Mongols from Tsushima.
Introduced in the Director's Cut (or DLC upgrade). Jin is alerted to the presence of a Mongol shaman named Ankshar Khatun, nicknamed The Eagle, who has taken over Iki and sits in Fort Sakai, where Jin's father ruled and later died when Jin was young. Jin decides to travel to Iki to investigate the island and how The Eagle drove some of her prisoners into madness before she gains enough power to invade Tsushima.
Players can tackle most missions in one of two ways: as the honorable Samurai, Jin can challenge enemy leaders to duels, and use multiple forms of sword and bow combat to bring death to multiple enemies. As the dishonorable Ghost, Jin can make use of different items to distract enemies, quietly assassinate them, or even make lesser Mongols tremble in fear of his reputation.
During combat, players can use up to four different sword stances that are each proficient at staggering specific enemy types. Player health is regenerated by using Resolve. Resolve is gained by eliminating enemies and through certain Charms the player can equip.
Outside of combat, players can be guided by the wind (known as the "Guiding Wind") to their objective by swiping up on the PS4 controller touchpad. By following NPCs and other creatures can find hidden shrines, charms, or other items. By collecting enough supplies and items, Jin can improve his armor, blades, bow, Ghost weapons, or even acquire new colors for his equipped armor.
For most of the game, Jin will carry two main weapons: his katana for most attacks, and his tanto for stealth assassinations. Jin will gain access to additional equipment through the game, either through story missions or side quests.
Ghost Weapons (Quickfire)
- Kunai - Sharp blades that can be thrown at enemies to stagger them, or even kill them if their health is low enough.
- Sticky Bomb - A pitch-covered bomb that sticks to the closest enemy when Jin throws it, heavily damaging them and all nearby enemies.
- Smoke Bomb - A quick-acting explosive that blinds all enemies nearby when Jin drops it at his feet. Can be used to escape a battle or to assassinate enemies in the middle of a fight.
- Way of the Flame - A mythic ability Jin learns after completing The Undying Flame sidequest. Jin uses incendiary oil to temporarily set his katana on fire, making his attacks unblockable and setting hit enemies on fire for several seconds.
Ghost Weapons (Throwable)
- Wind Chime - A simple wind chime that will attract a single enemy who hears it nearby.
- Firecracker - An upgraded version of the Wind Chime that can be acquired by spending Technique Points on it, will attract multiple enemies in a bigger radius to its location.
- Black Powder Bomb - A simple throwable bomb that explodes on impact, staggers and damages all enemies caught in its blast radius.
Acquired during The Tale of Sensei Ishikawa, Jin's main bow weapon.
- Normal Arrows - simple arrows that can hit targets from afar, but can be blocked by armor or shields
- Flaming Arrows - can set enemies on fire, as well as multiple enemies if fired at dry grass.
Acquired by completing The Curse of Uchitsune mythic tale. Cannot be fired from a stealthy position, but has more range and powerful arrows than the Half-Bow.
- Heavy Arrow - Unlike normal arrows, will penetrate armor and can be used to headshot enemies with helmets.
- Explosive Arrow - Essentially a Black Powder Bomb strapped to a Heavy Arrow, the shot will stagger and heavily damage most enemies hit with it, as well as any enemy in a nearby radius.
Obtained during the Ghosts from the Past tale. A short-ranged sniping weapon but fires completely silent.
- Poison Dart - Instantly kills most enemies hit by it, with a good chance of terrifying weaker enemies nearby and causing them to flee.
- Hallucination Dart - Acquired during The Proud Do Not Endure sidequest. Most enemies hit by this dart will temporarily gain increased health and attack power, but turn berserk and start attacking their allies, who will attempt to fight back and strike them down. Berserk enemies will also attack Jin if they spot him.
Legends Mode (Co-Op)
On October 16, 2020, Sucker Punch released a free update to the game that added a new cooperative mode called Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. The cooperative mode takes a more mythological approach to the lore and includes story missions plus a wave-based survival mode. Players earn new cosmetic items as well as gear that adds to a persistent gear score per class.
The Legends are available either as a two-player story mission, or a four-player horde mode where the players must work together to fight off waves of Mongols and Oni warriors attempting to conquer three control points.
There are four classes to play as:
- Samurai: Skilled in melee combat, with a technique that can siphon health from nearby enemies, and a Resolve technique that can instantly cut down three weaker enemies nearby.
- Hunter: A master archer who can strike down enemies from afar, including a technique that is guaranteed to hit up to three enemies in range.
- Ronin: A support class who can summon spirit animals to fight with him, and has a special technique that can revive downed allies anywhere on the battlefield.
- Assassin: The master of stealth who can throw down a poisonous smoke bomb that damages and blinds enemies caught inside it, and has a special technique that can assassinate up to three unaware enemies nearby.

Ghost of Tsushima PC Port: Why The Highly Acclaimed Samurai Game Will Likely Come To Steam

If you look at Sony's latest strategical decisions in terms of its PlayStation exclusives, a PC port for Ghost of Tsushima would only make sense. In addition, there have already been some hints that indicate the development of a PC version. In this article, we'll explain why a Ghost of Tsushima PC port is likely to happen, including an estimation when you should expect it to release.

Ghost of Tsushima is considered to be one of the best action adventure games on PlayStation consoles. Not only is it the Samurai game everyone always wanted – the pure beautifulness of the island of Tsushima is just staggering and makes everyone without a PlayStation jealous.
Fans have been clamoring for a PC version of the hit game and yes, we can very likely expect a port. But when? And what have we heard about it?
To be clear, there hasn't been any official confirmation yet, but some leaks and rumors have fired up speculation surrounding the re-release of the PS-exclusive, including some reliable reveals. Let's check out the details.
What Makes A Ghost of Tsushima PC Port So Likely To Happen

Ghost of Tsushima will most likely be making its way to PC. Why are we so confident about that, you might ask? Well, a number of Sony-exclusive games have already found their way to PC: Days Gone, Horizon: Zero Dawn and God of War chief among them, and The Last of Us for PC is the latest addition in this illustrious round. But not only that.
Most of the mentioned franchises are definitely bigger than the Ghost of Tsushima one (The Last of Us even got its own TV series), and still Sony decided to give up the PlayStation exclusiveness after a certain amount of time. It would be surprising to give up the exclusiveness of a The Last of Us that has such a high radiance and attraction by name, but denying a Ghost of Tsushima PC port to keep the franchise exclusive (you would either expect it the other way around).
Furthermore, there have been multiple revealing hints. The major one came from the infamous Nvidia leak in 2021, which revealed info on tons of unreleased or unannounced games. A PC port for Ghost of Tsushima was included in the leak as well.
The reveal has gained a lot of credibility, since reveals from the list keep coming true. This means that the mentioned PC version for Ghost of Tsushima is very likely also happening.
- Ghost of Tsushima Review: The Last PS4 Samurai
There was another hint for this version being in development. This detail originally helped us find out about the PC ports for Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone: The PlayStation only label was removed from the boxart on Amazon .
PlayStation Direct now features the new Ghost of Tsushima boxart without the 'Only on PlayStation' banner. Yes, it is that simple. Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone are both on PC and, really, this is no surprise as we knew from the start that a lot of PlayStation exclusives are PC-bound.

If you missed when Sony stated its intentions on bringing more PlayStation exclusives to the PC, here's what Sony had to say on this a while back:
Particularly from the latter half of the PS4 cycle our studios made some wonderful, great games. There’s an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience and recognise the economics of game development, which are not always straightforward.
Ghost of Tsushima PC Port: Release Date Expectation
A Ghost of Tsushima PC port still seems pretty likely. Unfortunately, we didn't see any leaks or rumors on a potential release date. Days Gone got its PC port about two years after the PlayStation debut, Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War were released on computers about three and a half years after premiering on the PS4.
Ghost of Tsushima is out for three years now, so come on Sony, the time has come! We expect a Ghost of Tsushima PC version to be announced in early 2024 and to be released in mid/late 2024 .
