M etal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is a massive game. It’s almost next to impossible to complete this game 100% given that each mission not only has a primary mission but also several secondary optional objectives. Using this guide you will be able to find locations of every collectibles such memento photos, cassette tapes, key items, blueprints, specialists and invoices [fast travel points].

Furthermore we also take a look at how you can unlock the Raiden armor/suit, Jehuty Teleport Weapon, Wormhole Fulton Extraction Device and Weapon Customization. There are 11 Memento Photos. Complete side ops 51 to 60 to unlock the first 10. Then return to Paz  and hand over the 10 photos.  Head back to the ACC and return back and you will see that  the 11th photo spawns outside her room on the wall.

Achievements and Trophies Guide:

In order to unlock every trophy and achievement in  Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain you would not only need to complete all side ops and main missions, but you would also need to take care of optional mission objectives and complete them faster using the best stealth method. In short, the player needs to be highly skilled and patient as unlocking all of them will take a lot of time.

Complete all missions with an S rank. In order to S Rank missions you need to complete them quickly. The best way is to take stealthy approach instead of going all guns blazing.

Capture an outpost or guard post. You need to fulton or kill every enemy in an outpost or guard post to unlock this trophy/achievement.

Complete all key Dispatch Missions. The key is to develop FOB and engage yourself in as many Combat Deployment missions. Another thing to be noted is that you need to grow your motherbase by unlocking more struts and recruiting more soldiers. There are 20 key Dispatch Missions, several Generic Dispatch missions and Response Dispatch missions.

Play an “Infiltration” FOB mission.

Make D-Dog available for deployment. There is no known location where you can find D-Dog but with a bit of exploration you should find it within the first six missions. I found it randomly during the first three.

Make Quiet available for deployment. Don’t kill Quiet during the boss battle.

Fulton extract an enemy soldier.

Interrogation

Interrogate an enemy soldier. Simple enough and easy to unlock during your playthrough.

To The Rescue

Extract a female prisoner. Simple enough and easy to unlock during your playthrough. This will occur in one of your side missions.

Increase Mother Base staff to 50 or more personnel. Keep fultoning out enemies.

Increase Mother Base staff to 250 or more personnel. Keep fultoning out enemies.

Raise all Teams/Units to level 50. Keep fultoning out enemies, earn GMP, complete Side Ops along with main missions, and get specialists on board.

Enhancement

Develop 50 or more development items. Earn GMP by fultoning out enemies and completing missions.

Reinforcement

Develop 100 or more development items. Earn GMP by fultoning out enemies and completing missions.

Locked and Loaded

Develop 300 or more development items. Earn GMP by fultoning out enemies and completing missions.

Construct all available platforms for Mother Base. Take part in Combat Deployment, complete missions for GMP and resources. This could take a while though.

Earn a total of 10,000,000 GMP or more. I invested around 80 hours in the game and I must say this one is easy than it looks. As usual, you need to be patient.

Conservation

Extract all wild animal species.

If you complete the 38 unique missions and prologue with an S rank, you will be able to develop a Raiden costume at Mother Base.

When you save Miller, he will ask you to say “Kept you waiting, huh?” There is a button prompt that will let you do so. This line has been repeated many times throughout the series.

When you first start the game, it will ask you to enter your birthday. When that day arrives, there will be a birthday party at Mother Base.

In the prologue, there is a bulletin board that mentions Kojima Productions and the Fox Team. It also lists booth number CP 2308, which was the booth used by Kojima Productions at GDC 2013.

If you shoot the AI Pod in Side Op 143, it will say lines from Metal Gear Solid 3 and Peace Walker.

There is a radio in Africa that plays a broadcast about a murder that was originally heard during P.T., the demo for the now-cancelled Silent Hills.

If you have a save file from Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, you can import it to get some bonuses:

• Hideo Kojima on your crew
• A skin that makes you look like Snake from the original Metal Gear Solid
• The Ground Zeroes Sneaking Suit as an upgrade from Mother Base
• A gold bionic arm (only if your save data is from after Mission 5: “Over the Fence” and saving the Bionic Engineer)

At the start of Mission 4, extract the puppy to take him to your base. Once you complete Missions 7-10 plus any other two missions, he will grow up into D-Dog and be a possible buddy you can take with you.

During Mission 11, do not kill Quiet. Then complete Mission 14, which will allow you to visit her. Visit her at the medical platform and then at her cell. When you call the helicopter to leave, Quiet will join you and be a possible buddy you can take with you.

If you die many times in a row, you will get the Chicken Hat. The Chicken Hat can be used three times in a mission and makes it so that enemies will not attack you and will fall unconscious. You will not be able to get a rank higher than A with this hat equipped.

There are many music tapes to collect, which you can then listen to whenever you want. Some are given to you as rewards for missions, but 32 of them are hidden in the game. Use the video guide below to find the locations of these 32 tapes.

There are 47 wild animals you can extract. To extract them, you can use the capture cage (fully upgraded to be able to get them all), Fulton extract them, or stun and pick up smaller animals. No matter which methods you use, you’ll need to know the animals’ locations to get them all.

Memento Photos

Complete the following Side Op missions, in order, to obtain the corresponding Memento Photo. Give them all to Paz, then exit her room to find the Morpho Butterfly on the wall. You will also receive Emblem Parts. Note: To visit Paz, build the first part of the Medical Platform.

The Side Op missions involve knocking out and extracting various soldiers. Use stealth and cover to your advantage. D-Dog can help you find the soldiers. Get under the cover of darkness by playing the missions at night. Use a sniper rifle with tranquilizer darts and aim for headshots. If you miss, you will have to find the soldier again. Use the cardboard box to maintain stealth. You can also play "Love Deterrence" on your iDroid to distract the soldiers. The mission requirements, locations, and rewards are as follows.

• Location : Afghanistan, southeast region.
• Pre-requisite : Complete Mission 06.
• Reward : 30,000 GMP.
• Soldier location : On a hill, northeast of the Eastern Communication Post. .
• Location : Afghanistan, southwest region.
• Pre-requisite : Complete Mission 08 and Side Op 51.
• Reward : 60,000 GMP.
• Soldier location : Southwest of Da Shago Kallai. If spotted, he will use a smoke grenade and escape.
• Location : Africa, northwest region.
• Pre-requisite : Complete Mission 16 and Side Op 52.
• Reward : 80,000 GMP.
• Soldier location : East of Bwala ya Masa. If spotted, he will use a sleep grenade. .
• Location : Africa, southwest region.
• Pre-requisite : Complete Mission 20 and Side Op 53.
• Reward : 90,000 GMP.
• Soldier location : West of Nova Braga Airport. If spotted, he will use stun grenades.

• Reward : 140,000 GMP.
• Soldier location : Under a bridge south of Yakho Oboo Outpost. If spotted, he will use smoke grenades and a cloaking device.
• Location : Africa, east region.
• Pre-requisite : Complete Mission 35 and Side Op 57.
• Reward : 180,000 GMP.

• After getting rescued during your first encounter with the Man on Fire in the Prologue, follow the person down a corridor. Use the rail to your left to pull yourself up from the floor. Look closely at the bulletin board on the wall to see a poster that mentions Kojima Productions and inviting you to "Join the Fox Team". The booth number listed, CP 2308, is the actual number of the booth used by Kojima Productions at GDC 2013.

You can rescue Hideo Kojima during the Side Op 112 Intel Agent Extraction mission. After doing so, he will return to Mother Base.

P.T. reference

Find the radio on the floor near one corner of a tent, just past an outpost encampment in Africa near where Mission 20 "Voices" takes place. It plays the same recording that describes a horrific murder that was originally heard in the P.T. demo.

Metal Gear Solid series references

• During Mission 22, you have to knock out Mosquito. This is the same soldier from Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes who helped Miller escape from Mother Base.
• During Side Op 143, secure the A.I. Pod, then shoot it with a lethal weapon. It will repeat lines from Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Unlockable Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain DLC

Future DLC #1: Future unlockable DLC for the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain includes content carried over from Ground Zeroes, such as: Bonus resources for the “Mother Base”, your HQ that “plays a pivotal role” in The Phantom Pain and is introduced in Ground Zeroes, carries over to The Phantom Pain. – This will give you: Extra Mother Base staff, the ability to transfer POWs and VIPs rescued during Ground Zeroes’ campaign to the Mother Base, and character skins will also be carried across.

SAVE TRANSFER INSTRUCTIONS: You can carry over save data from METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES to METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN.

– Step 1: To carry over save data, first start up METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES and select [UPLOAD MGSV:GZ SAVE DATA] from the Title Menu. The data is then uploaded to the game server. – Step 2: Next, select [DOWNLOAD MGSV:GZ SAVE DATA] from the METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN Title Menu to apply the save data that was carried over.

• Save data to be carried over includes the Sneaking Suit from METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES as well as certain prisoners and soldiers you extracted. – These soldiers will join Diamond Dogs as volunteers at certain points in the game. • To obtain these save data carry over bonuses, you need to be able to play METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES (have the access to the console hardware, game software, and save data), have online access, and install an online update for the game. • You can carry over save data from either the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 3 versions of METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES to the PlayStation 4 version of METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN. • Your METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES and METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN data must be associated with the same Sony Entertainment Network account.

If you perform a Data Transfer on the same system account — by uploading the save file from the Ground Zeroes main menu and then download it from the The Phantom Pain main menu — here’s what items carry over to the main game…

• Ground Zeroes’ Sneaking Suit becomes a wearable item in The Phantom Pain. • Ground Zeroes’ Mother Base Staff members become available. Both prisoners, soldiers and unique characters that you rescued can be used as Mother Base Staff in The Phantom Pain. – Note that you’ll have to complete The Phantom Pain main story missions up to Episode 12 to unlock them all.

Future DLC #2: Register your purchase of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on the Konami Core Vault website to be rewarded with future unlockable DLC for the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain game. After registration, this will be confirmed with the following message: “Come back in 2015 to claim your Downloadable Content!”

How To Unlock Hideo Kojima as a Mother Base Worker

Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima himself makes a comeback in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

You’ll only be able to get Hideo Kojima into The Phantom Pain if you rescued him in Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes. After completing the “Ground Zeroes” Main Mission, you’ll unlock Side Ops missions. Go play the “Intel Operative Rescue” Side Ops and upon completion Big Boss finds out the Intel Team agent VIP he rescued is actually the Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima!

After getting him, you’ll have to exported your Ground Zeroes save file from that game’s main menu, and then imported that save file into The Phantom Pain via this game’s main menu as well. (Detailed instructions can be read above in the “Future DLC #1” section or watching the video.)

He then — after completing Episode 3, 4 or 5 in the campaign — eventually arrives at Mother Base in The Phantom Pain as a “special volunteer” and can be recruited as worker with a specialty in Intel (S-Rank rating) and further skills in Research & Development (A+ rank).

If you complete the 38 unique missions and prologue with an S rank, you will be able to develop a Raiden costume at Mother Base.

When you save Miller, he will ask you to say “Kept you waiting, huh?” There is a button prompt that will let you do so. This line has been repeated many times throughout the series.

When you first start the game, it will ask you to enter your birthday. When that day arrives, there will be a birthday party at Mother Base.

In the prologue, there is a bulletin board that mentions Kojima Productions and the Fox Team. It also lists booth number CP 2308, which was the booth used by Kojima Productions at GDC 2013.

If you shoot the AI Pod in Side Op 143, it will say lines from Metal Gear Solid 3 and Peace Walker.

There is a radio in Africa that plays a broadcast about a murder that was originally heard during P.T., the demo for the now-cancelled Silent Hills.

If you have a save file from Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, you can import it to get some bonuses:

• Hideo Kojima on your crew
• A skin that makes you look like Snake from the original Metal Gear Solid
• The Ground Zeroes Sneaking Suit as an upgrade from Mother Base
• A gold bionic arm (only if your save data is from after Mission 5: “Over the Fence” and saving the Bionic Engineer)

At the start of Mission 4, extract the puppy to take him to your base. Once you complete Missions 7-10 plus any other two missions, he will grow up into D-Dog and be a possible buddy you can take with you.

During Mission 11, do not kill Quiet. Then complete Mission 14, which will allow you to visit her. Visit her at the medical platform and then at her cell. When you call the helicopter to leave, Quiet will join you and be a possible buddy you can take with you.

If you die many times in a row, you will get the Chicken Hat. The Chicken Hat can be used three times in a mission and makes it so that enemies will not attack you and will fall unconscious. You will not be able to get a rank higher than A with this hat equipped.

There are many music tapes to collect, which you can then listen to whenever you want. Some are given to you as rewards for missions, but 32 of them are hidden in the game. Use the video guide below to find the locations of these 32 tapes.

There are 47 wild animals you can extract. To extract them, you can use the capture cage (fully upgraded to be able to get them all), Fulton extract them, or stun and pick up smaller animals. No matter which methods you use, you’ll need to know the animals’ locations to get them all.

Pro Tips in MGS 5

There are many hidden game mechanics you can utilize to become a pro gamer in MGSV: Phantom Pain. Many of this pro tips are used in FOB Infiltrations. Examples are using the Anti-Air Emplacement and Containers for Fulton yourself onto higher ground. Container method needs a Cardboard Box. Another is to fall on a rail that prevents any further death if you keep falling below. You can also dive and catch rails to quickly get down. Video demonstrates these pro tips:

Sniping from Any Rooftop

One way to get advantage in Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain is to go on top of rooftops, even if they are normally inaccessible. You can do this while roaming or in any mission. The requirements are a D-Horse and a Truck, and you can normally go on top of any roof:

Dolphin Dive

In MGSV, the lower your stance, the harder it is for guards to spot you. There are multiple methods to hop while in prone position, thus making you almost invisible, especially if you are doing FOB Infiltrations:

Special Game Mechanics

By using the environment, you can do special moves. For example, the Cardboard Box can contain a grenade explosion. You can climb ladders and then detonate the ladder, making others unable to follow you up to a rooftop. Venom Snake can stay mid-way on ladders allowing him to grab guards and throw them down (or trip them down):

Front Flip (Somersault)

Sometimes, the game has occasional special moves that are not intended to be used, but can be triggered accidentally. One of these moves is the front flip (somersault move) in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Normally used only if you are jumping from a higher platform to a lower platform, somersaults can be triggered if you are dedicated:
