When you think of a PowerPoint presentation, slides on a projector or a large screen display come to mind. But, the typical classroom has changed. So has the conference room, for that matter.

If you’re giving a presentation, your audience may not even be in the same room as you. Instead of being on the other side of the table, they may be on the other side of the screen.

Moreover, if your presentation is vital to your organization or classroom, chances are your listeners will want copies.

In these circumstances, how do you effectively share your PowerPoint presentation with your audiences?

The short answer, you share your presentations online!

But, how? Previously, Presentation Guru covered a few easy-to-use web services for sharing PowerPoint presentations . In this article, we’re going to explore ways other than web services to share PowerPoint Presentations.

One of the easiest ways to send presentations to your audience is by email. All you’ll need to do is compress the presentation or save a lower resolution copy to attach to the email, and then automate the sending process by setting up filters. For example, you can configure your email service to send your presentation to any incoming email with a subject that contains the word “Presentation”. Gmail is one of the most popular email services and offers a plethora of customization and filter features.

However, it can prove tricky if your presentation is very large, but here are a few quick steps to compress your presentation:

  • Left click on the saved ppt file
  • click on ‘ Add to Archive… ’
  • Open the compressed file, click on a picture to access the Picture Tools menu.
  • Click on Forma t menu.
  • Click on Compress Picture icon .
  • Uncheck “Apply only to this picture”
  • Check “Delete cropped areas of pictures”
  • Select “Email (96 ppi): minimize document size for sharing”

Now that the file is in a more manageable size, you can easily attach it to your email.

You can also email the presentation directly from PowerPoint to your contacts via File / Share .

However if the presentation contains classified information, email is not the safest option because your contacts can download and modify them. In which case, you hsould look at some of the other options available.

2) File Sharing Services

You can upload your presentation to any of the file sharing platforms out there, like Google Drive, Dropbox etc. and then share the link with people. This works best if you only have to send it to a limited number of people. On the other hand, the people you share the presentation with, will need PowerPoint to access it, or else some features of the presentation may not be displayed correctly.

3) Embed Code

You can use a code generated, for your slide deck, by a third party service such as Zamzar or PowerPoint to HTML 5 and paste it on your website. You can convert the presentation to HTML 5 or Flash via any number of free and paid convertors. Once uploaded to the hosting service, you get an embeddable code which you can use on your website. HTML5 gets better visibility across all browsers and gadgets than Flash, so HTML5 would be the better option of the two. That said, some PowerPoint features cannot be rendered properly through HTML5.

You can also create an HTML 5 version of your presentation to embed on a website directly from PowerPoint Online . Embed feature is only available with PowerPoint Online and not with the PC or Mac versions.

The first step to creating an embeddable link, is to save your presentation onto your OneDrive account. Next, you’ll need to sign in to PowerPoint Online and create the embeddable link.

4) Make it a Video to Publish on Youtube

Did you know? One third of online activity is spent watching videos . So, why not convert your presentation into a video people can easily watch? PowerPoint 2016 offers a feature to convert your presentations to video. You can then choose to upload the presentation video to your Youtube account, where you can also receive instant feedback from your audience in the form of comments, likes, shares, number of views etc directly under your video.

Other than PowerPoint itself, you can use different softwares, such as  Movavi and ImTOO , to turn your presentation to video. They also offer you other cool features like voice over, music, animations etc.

5) Save as PDF

This one is as easy as it sounds. Just click on the ‘ Export ’ tab in the File menu, and then click on ‘ Create PDF/XPS Document ’. It’s that easy!

This is a great option when you’re presenting to an audience that might not have access to Microsoft PowerPoint. There is hardly any computer or smartphone that can’t open PDF files. All you’ll need to do is send the link or file from a hosting service to your audience. For example, upload your PDF presentation to DropBox, Google Drive or OneDrive etc. and then share the link with your audience.

Honorary Mention – Microsoft Broadcast Slide Show/Present Online Feature

Although we said we’d be sharing ways that don’t include web services, this one doesn’t exactly count as one because it’s built into PowerPoint itself. (Also, it wasn’t mentioned in our last article!)

Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 started offering the “Broadcast Slide Show” feature. It has since improved and become even easier to share with your viewers. It enables the presenters to invite their attendees online, via a link. When clicked, the link directs them to a real-time, web based viewing of the presentation. The presenter can pause and resume the slide show during broadcast. The attendees don’t need to have PowerPoint to view the presentation, all they need is a Windows Live ID to join the session.

However, to be able to use the ‘ Present Online ’ feature, you will need to have a Microsoft Office Pro or Business version of Office 365 .

Not only can your viewers attend your presentation through a browser, they can even download the presentation, if you opt for it.

Depending on your security preferences, the options we’ve outlined above are the easiest ways to share your PowerPoint presentations with your audience. Additionally, to make it even more convenient for your in-room attendees, you can create a QR code of your shareable presentation and display it on the big display screen or projector before the start of your presentation. This way, all you audience will need to do is scan the QR and access the presentation, without having to manually put in the link in their devices.

The good news is PPT sharing is actually super easy, and it doesn’t have to cost a thing thanks to all the different free options available. From using a screen recording platform to taking advantage of file sharing services and everything in between, there’s no shortage of options for getting your PowerPoint presentation in the hands of your audience.

Whether you’re aiming to reach a global student audience, collaborating with fellow educators, or simply looking to make your content more accessible, this guide will walk you through the nuances of sharing a PowerPoint presentation online. Each and every option has its pros and cons, use cases, and distinctive features that I’ll explain in depth so you can choose the right method for your specific needs.

The Best Free Ways to Share PowerPoints Online

No matter where you work, meetings all have one thing in common: PowerPoint presentations. If you use Zoom, you can easily present your slideshow to the participants by sharing your screen . Here's how it's done.

If you're the host of the Zoom meeting , you'll be able to share your screen without issue. However, if you're joining a meeting that you aren't the host of, you may need to request permission from the host to be able to share your screen.

As a general rule, we recommend that hosts disable the screen-share feature for participants by default for security reasons . If you aren't the host of the meeting, be sure to reach out to the host in advance to request permission to share your screen during the Zoom call. Hosts can always enable the feature during the call, but it's always good to be a step ahead.

If you're the host of the meeting and someone is requesting permission to share their screen during the meeting, click the up arrow next to "Share Screen" at the bottom of the window.

In the menu that appears, click "Advanced Sharing Options."

The "Advanced Sharing Options" window will appear. In the "Who Can Share" section, click the bubble next to "All Participants."

All participants in the meeting can now share their screen.

To screen share your PowerPoint presentation, go ahead and open the PowerPoint presentation that you would like to present. However, before you put the presentation in Slide Show view, you'll want to share your screen. At the bottom of the Zoom meeting window, click "Share Screen."

If you're using a single monitor, you will immediately start sharing your screen. If you're using dual monitors , you'll need to click the screen that your presentation will be shared on. In our case, that will be "Screen 2."

To begin sharing that screen, click "Share" at the bottom-right corner of the screen select window.

You're now sharing your screen. Now, in Microsoft PowerPoint, select the "Slide Show View" icon in the bottom-right corner of the application.

From here, deliver your presentation as though you were standing in front of a live audience.

What are some good practices when asking people to share their PowerPoint presentations from a conference/talk?

In many cases, they (understandably) don't reply (or they are uncomfortable with sharing them, as they often contain unpublished material). Also, I do this often, and don't want to be known as "the person who asks people for their powerpoint slides".

At the same time though, it's simply far easier to remember the content of a presentation/talk when you actually have access to the stuff inside (and I do discover that I learn faster from talks than from any other source). Most of the time, I request the slides as a reference for learning the material (since I'm still new to the area, and they are quite helpful for that).

(though I do wonder - what are the underlying circumstances when most people ask for them?)

  • In my experience, conference organizers often ask speakers to provide their slides, to be posted (after the talk) on the conference web site, so everyone can access them. There is no magic when it comes to asking for presentations. And there is nothing wrong with being the person who asks people for their powerpoint slides (at least you show that are interested and it may result in them being cited; and it shows that they got their job done - though a presentation they interested others in their idea).

If they don't reply (or don't sent it), it is usually of one of the following reasons:

  • They are busy and missed your mail,
  • It would take their time to find the presentation and send it (it may be big so it is not just sending an e-mail),
  • It is not polished enough for anything but a presentation,
  • It may contain things that they would prefer not to share publicly (e.g. plots form other papers, preliminary data which may later proven to be wrong or incomplete, pictures or video they don't have right to share further, etc).

If they don't want to share it - they have right to it. However, usually they have nothing against (and actually are happy to do so) as long as you make it quick and easy for them.

So it is a good idea to ask for slides just after their talk - they may have it on their computer (so you can copy it to your stick) or on a stick (o you can copy it to your computer) or send it right away.

  • Send your e-mail at most a week after the presentation,
  • Be short and concise (what exactly you want, what do you want with do with it),
  • If there is no response try writing the same e-mail a week later.

Be very clear on what you want it for, particularly whether you will be sharing it further (even within your group, with your advisor, &c).

I often post edited version of the slides online, but I always want to have control on the contents that are public, semi-public, or private.

I don't mind sharing my presentations, but I make sure that I provide a read-only format only (PDF) with slides scaled to e.g. 1/4 of actual size, in raster format (so that more than one would fit on a page). When people ask for presentations, I expect they'd like to have the material handy for further reading and reference, not to present it or use it themselves.

One would go even further and restrict the PDF printing, copying and modifications, although these can be circumvented with a reasonable effort if you know what you are doing. I don't do this as a matter of principle, but I can see how some people might want to have such kind of control.

You can ask for a redacted version of the slides, without new data. Do note that this will require extra work from the presenter; in my experience, I've found that most people do not go this route. I would follow the route you're currently taking; ask for them, and if they don't wish to share, then drop the subject.

If you're uncomfortable asking the authors of the slides, for some event types, another idea could be to ask the organizers of the conference, seminar, talk, etc., if they could make the slides available to everyone on the event website . Depending on their attitude, the organizers may think that this is a good idea and do it on your behalf, and there may have a higher chance of getting a response from the presenter.

The main difference between strong, confident speakers and speakers who seem nervous in front of the room is in how relaxed and conversational they appear. Here are some basic pointers that will help you create a conversational tone when speaking, regardless of the size of your audience.

1. Avoid using the word, “presentation.” Every time you say, “I’m here to give you a presentation on X,” or, “In this presentation, you’ll see…,” you are emphasizing the formal, structured, sometimes artificial nature of the interaction. No one wants to be “presented” to. Instead, use language that emphasizes a natural, conversational exchange. “We’re here today to talk about X,” or “Today I’ll be sharing some ideas regarding Y.” You can even go so far as to say, “I’m glad we have time together today to discuss Z.” Even if your talk is not going to truly be a dialogue, you can use language that suggests engagement with the audience.

2. If you are using PowerPoint, avoid using the word “slide.” Instead of talking about the medium, talk about the concepts. Swap out, “This slide shows you…,” for, “Here we see….” Instead of saying, “On that slide I showed you a moment ago,” say, “A moment ago we were discussing X. Here’s how that issue will impact Y and Z.” Casual conversations don’t usually involve slide decks. Just because your complicated presentation on tax exposure, supply chain issues, or new health care regulations requires you to use slides, doesn’t mean you have to draw attention to that fact that the setting is formal and structured.

3. For many large-group events, speakers are provided with what’s called a “confidence monitor,” a computer screen that sits on the floor at the speaker’s feet showing the slide that appears on the large screen above the speaker’s head. Avoid using confidence monitors. Our natural inclination when using a confidence monitor is to gesture at the bullet point we’re discussing at the moment. However, we are pointing to a bullet point on the screen at our feet, which the audience can’t see, so it creates a disconnect between us and the audience. Instead, stand to the side of the large screen and gesture at the bullet point you’re talking about so that the audience knows which point you are discussing at the moment.

4. Don’t tell your audience, “I want this to be interactive.” It’s your job to make it interactive. If you are delivering the type of presentation where your audience size allows you to create true engagement with your listeners, create that connecting in stages to “warm up” the audience. Stage One engagement is to ask the audience a question relevant to your topic that you know most of the audience members can respond to affirmatively. “Who here has ever bought a new car?” or, “How many of you have ever waited more than 5 minutes on hold on a customer service line?” Raise your hand as you ask the question to indicate to the audience how to respond. Whoever has raised their hand has now participated in the discussion. They have indicated a willingness to engage. Stage Two engagement is calling on one of the people who raised their hand and asking a specific, perfunctory question. Again, it needs to be a question they can answer easily. If your first questions is, “Who here has bought a new car?” you can then call on someone and ask, “How long ago,” or “What kind of car did you buy most recently?” If your first question was, “Have you ever waited on hold for more than 5 minutes,” you can’t ask, “What company were you calling at the time?” The people who raised their hands weren’t thinking of a specific instance; they were just thinking broadly about that type of experience. You could, however, call on someone and ask, “Do you prefer when they play music or ads for the company’s products?” Anyone can answer that question. At that point, you are in an actual dialogue with that person. Stage Three engagement is asking them a question where they need to reveal something more personal. “How does that make you feel when you hear those ads?” You’ve warmed up your audience and drawn them in with baby steps. Now you have actual, meaningful audience participation.

5. Use gestures. When we’re speaking in an informal setting, we all use hand gestures; some people use more than others, but we all use them. When we try to rein in our gestures, two things happen that diminish our speaking style. First, we look stiff and unnatural. We look like we are presenting a guarded or cautious version of ourselves; we look less genuine. Second, hand gestures burn up the nervous energy we all have when speaking in front of a large group. That’s good. When we try to minimize our hand gestures, we tie up that nervous energy and it starts to leak out on odd ways, where we start to tap our foot, fidget with our notes or microphone, or tilt our head side to side to emphasize key points. Just let the gestures fly. It’s unlikely they will be too large or distracting. I have coached people on their presentation skills for 26 years. In that time, I have met three people who gestured too much. Everyone else would benefit from using their gestures more freely.

The impact we have as communicators is based on the cumulative effect of many different elements of our delivery. These suggestions alone won’t make you a terrific presenter. They will, however, add to the overall package your present of yourself when speaking to large audiences.

Beyond Ozempic: New GLP-1 drugs promise weight loss and health benefits

The next wave of obesity drugs is coming soon.

Drug companies are racing to develop GLP-1 drugs following the blockbuster success of Novo Nordisk’s Ozempic and Wegovy and Eli Lilly’s Mounjaro and Zepbound.

Some of the experimental drugs may go beyond diabetes and weight loss, improving liver and heart function while reducing side effects such as muscle loss common to the existing medications. At the 2024 American Diabetes Association conference in Orlando, Florida, researchers are expected to present data on 27 GLP-1 drugs in development.

“We’ve heard about Ozempic and Mounjaro and so on, but now we’re seeing lots and lots of different drug candidates in the pipeline, from very early-stage preclinical all the way through late-stage clinical,” said Dr. Marlon Pragnell, ADA’s vice president of research and science. “It’s very exciting to see so much right now.”

A large portion of the data presented comes from animal studies or early-stage human trials. However, some presentations include mid-to late-stage trials, according to a list shared by the organization.

Approval by the Food and Drug Administration is likely years away for most. Some of the drugs showcased could be available for prescription in the U.S. within the next few years.

“We’ve witnessed an unprecedented acceleration in the development of GLP drugs,” said Dr. Christopher McGowan, a gastroenterologist who runs a weight loss clinic in Cary, North Carolina. “We are now firmly entrenched in the era of the GLP.”

While the existing drugs are highly effective, new drugs that are more affordable and have fewer side effects are needed, McGowan added.

There aren’t just GLP-1 drugs in the pipeline. On Thursday, ahead of the diabetes conference, Denmark-based biotech firm Zealand Pharma released data that showed a high dose of its experimental weight loss drug petrelintide helped reduce body weight by an average of 8.6% at 16 weeks.

The weekly injectable medication is unique because it mimics the hormone amylin, which helps control blood sugar. The hope is patients will experience fewer side effects like nausea commonly associated with GLP-1 drugs such as Wegovy and Zepbound.

Can glucagon hormone help with weight loss?

GLP-1 medications work, in part, by slowing down how quickly food passes through the stomach, leading people to feel fuller longer. In several of the upcoming weight loss drugs, a different hormone called glucagon is in the spotlight. Glucagon is a key blood-sugar-regulating hormone that can mimic the effects of exercise.

One of the drugs featured at the conference on Sunday is called pemvidutide, from Maryland-based biotech firm Altimmune .

The drug contains the GLP-1 hormone, a key ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy, in addition to glucagon.

Altimmune released data from a phase 2 trial of 391 adults with obesity or who are overweight with at least one weight-related comorbidity such as high blood pressure. Patients were randomized to either get one of three doses of pemvidutide or a placebo for 48 weeks.

Researchers found that patients who got the highest dose of the drug lost on average 15.6% of their body weight after 48 weeks, compared to the 2.2% body weight loss seen in patients who got a placebo. In similar trials, semaglutide was shown to reduce body weight by around 15% after 68 weeks.

These are not direct comparisons because the drugs weren’t compared in a head-to-head clinical trial.

Dr. Scott Harris, Altimmune’s chief medical officer, said the drug has been shown to help people lose weight, as well as provide health benefits to the liver and heart. What’s more, the drug has shown benefits in preserving lean body mass. Some studies have suggested that semaglutide, the active ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy, can cause muscle loss.

“If people take the drugs long term, what’s going to be their long-term health? What’s going to be the long-term effects on their body composition, their muscle, their ability to function?” he said.

Harris said that people who got pemvidutide lost on average 21% of their lean body mass, which is lower than the around 25% of lean body mass people typically lose with diet and exercise.

“We’re the next wave of obesity drugs,” Altimmune President and CEO Vipin Garg said. “The first wave of mechanisms was all driven by appetite suppression. We are adding another component.”

Altimmune expects to begin a phase 3 trial soon. The company hopes the drug will be available in the U.S. sometime in 2028.

Competition could drive down costs

Expanding the number of weight loss drugs available is important for several reasons, experts say.

More options could also help alleviate the shortages seen in the U.S. with Novo Nordisk’s and Lilly’s weight loss drugs.

Increased competition could drive down the high cost of the drugs over time. A month’s supply of Wegovy or Zepbound can cost more than $1,000, often financially untenable for many patients, experts say.

Patients can also respond differently to treatments, said Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford, an associate professor of medicine and pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. In fact, some have found the existing GLP-1 options ineffective.

“Different GLP-1 drugs may have varying levels of efficacy and potency,” she said. “Some patients may respond better to one drug over another, depending on how their body metabolizes and responds to the medication.”

Since starting Ozempic in June 2022, Danielle Griffin has not seen the results her doctor predicted. “She really expected to see a huge difference in my weight, and I just never saw it,” said the 38-year-old from Elida, New Mexico. Griffin weighed about 300 pounds and has lost only about 10 pound in two years. She said her “expectations were pretty much shattered from that.”

Amid insurance battles and shortages, she has also tried Wegovy and Mounjaro, but didn’t see a difference in her weight.

“I don’t feel like there are options, especially for myself, for someone who the medications not working for.”

The prospect of new medications on the horizon excites Griffin. “I would be willing to try it,” she said, adding that “it could be life changing, honestly, and you know that alone gives me something to look forward to.”

More drugs in the pipeline

Eli Lilly, which makes Zepbound and the diabetes version Mounjaro, has two more GLP-1 drugs in development.

On Sunday, Lilly released new data about retatrutide, an injectable drug that combines GLP-1 and glucagon , plus another hormone called GIP. GIP is thought to improve how the body breaks down sugar.

In an earlier trial, retatrutide helped people lose, on average, about 24% of their body weight, the equivalent of about 58 pounds — greater weight loss than any other drug on the market.

New findings showed the weekly medication also significantly reduced blood sugar levels in people with Type 2 diabetes.

On Saturday, there were also new findings on the experimental mazdutide, which Lilly has given permission to biotech firm Innovent Biologics to develop in China. The drug combines GLP-1 and glucagon.

In a phase 3 study of adults in China who were overweight or had obesity, researchers found that after 48 weeks, a 6-milligram dose of the drug led to an average body weight reduction of 14.4%.

The drug also led to a reduction in serum uric acid — a chemical that can build up in the bloodstream, causing health problems, and has been associated with obesity, according to Dr. Linong Ji, director of the Peking University Diabetes Center, who presented the findings.

That was “quite unique and never reported for other GLP-1-based therapies,” he said in an interview.

The drug could be approved in China in 2025, Ji said.

Improving metabolic conditions

An estimated 75% of people with obesity have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and 34% have MASH, or metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, according to researchers with the German drugmaker Boehringer Ingelheim. Fatty liver disease occurs when the body begins to store fat in the liver . It can progress to MASH, when fat buildup causes inflammation and scarring.

In a phase 2 trial of people who were overweight or had obesity, Boehringer Ingelheim’s survodutide, which uses both GLP-1 and glucagon, led to weight loss of 19% at 46 weeks. Another phase 2 study in people with MASH and fibrosis found that 83% of participants also showed improvement in MASH.

Survodutide “has significant potential to make a meaningful difference to people living with cardiovascular, renal and metabolic conditions,” said Dr. Waheed Jamal, Boehringer Ingelheim’s corporate vice president and head of cardiometabolic medicine.

On Friday, the company released two studies on the drug. One, in hamsters, found that weight loss was associated with improvements in insulin and cholesterol. The second, in people with Type 2 diabetes or people with obesity, found the drug helped improve blood sugar levels.  

The company is looking to begin a phase 3 trial.

The New York Times’s polling averages show a very close race nationally and in the critical battleground states. Donald J. Trump has a slim lead over President Biden in seven key states, but it is more tenuous than most candidates’ polling advantages in past elections. In fact, today’s polling average shows a closer race than the final November polls did in any election of the last two decades. Updated June 24

A candidate needs 270 electoral votes to win. If Biden and Trump can hold the states they carried by at least three percentage points in 2020, that leaves seven states that are widely viewed as the key battlegrounds. Let’s zoom in on them.

If the polls change, or miss, in Biden’s favor Biden is also within range: He trails by a slim margin in a few key states, and a shift or polling miss in his favor would not be uncommon, though of course that is not guaranteed.

Measuring the Kennedy effect

We calculate averages for polls that ask voters to choose between Biden and Trump, and for polls that include Kennedy. (Many polls do both.) Here’s a comparison of the averages, nationally and in key states.

Third-party candidates present particular challenges for pollsters, and they can be a significant factor in elections. Here you can get a sense of how Robert F. Kennedy Jr. might affect support for Biden and Trump. Just know that, historically, most polls have significantly overstated support for third-party candidates.

About our polling averages

Our averages include polls collected by The New York Times and by FiveThirtyEight . The estimates adjust for a variety of factors, including the recency and sample size of a poll, whether a poll represents likely voters, and whether other polls have shifted since a poll was conducted.

We also evaluate whether each pollster: Has a track record of accuracy in recent elections Is a member of a professional polling organization Conducts probability-based sampling

These elements factor into how much weight each poll gets in the average. And we consider pollsters that meet at least two of the three criteria to be “select pollsters,” so long as they are conducting polls for nonpartisan sponsors. Read more about our methodology .

“Pride: Then, Now, and Forever” — set for 8 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at The Parker in Fort Lauderdale — will feature songs such as “It’s Raining Men,” “Dancing Queen,” “I’m Coming Out,” Cher’s “Believe” and Heather Small’s “Proud.” The idea, according to the group’s website, is to pay homage “to diverse journeys, shared struggles, and the boundless joy of the LGBTQ+ community.”

Covering songs from different generations helps “show how much we have in common, and the unique flavor each generation brings to its music,” said Mark Kent, executive director of the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida (GMCSF).

The concert will also feature the world premiere of “We’ve Come Through The Storm,” by folk artist Tom Nichols and composer/pianist Dan Chadburn, both based in Fort Lauderdale, as well as “Don’t Say Gay,” written exclusively for GMCSF by Los Angeles-based composer Dave Volpe.

“The culture of our chorus has changed in recent years,” GMCSF artistic director Gabe Salazar said. “Our membership has diversified at a rapid level, and I thought it would be amazing to showcase that and lean into that idea.

“We have chorus members who have lived and really experienced life, we have chorus members who are just beginning their adult lives, and we have chorus members from all over the world,” added Salazar, who is at the end of his third season as artistic director.

Salazar joined the chorus as a singing member when he moved to Florida in 2019. Not knowing anyone, he was hoping to network with other musicians.

“I always dreamed of directing a chorus of this magnitude but had no idea that I would soon take over as their artistic director,” he said. “After my first season as a singer, the position was posted nationwide. I applied and went through several rounds of interviews and auditions with the chorus before I was hired.”

He described the chorus as being not just a group of singers but also a sanctuary where every voice matters, where individuality is celebrated, and where the power of togetherness shines through every performance.

“The biggest reward is to see them learn from each other and encourage each other along this road called life,” Salazar said. “The special gift that we have is that we get to convey this message through our music, which can be a life-changing experience.”

World's tallest dog Kevin dies at age 3: 'He was just the best giant boy'

The record-breaking Great Dane named Kevin, recently crowned the world's tallest known dog , has died. He was 3.

In a statement  published Monday by the Guinness Book of World Records  website, the dog's owners, Tracy and Roger Wolfe, of West Des Moines, said their family was "devastated" to share news of Kevin's death.

Kevin stretched 3 feet, 2 inches tall, and was officially verified as the world’s tallest dog March 20, the global authority on all things record-breaking announced earlier this month.

Described as a "gentle giant," the dog also leaves behind his human siblings Alexander, 12, and Ava, 10.

How did Kevin die?

Guinness reported Kevin died this week following an unplanned surgery after falling ill.

“Our whole family is devastated about Kevin," the Wolfe family released in their statement. "He was just the best giant boy!" 

'It's never enough time'

Tracy Wolfe told USA TODAY people always commented on how big the dog was when they saw him. 

"In fact, he has been to the county fair two years in a row now," where she said people greeted Kevin more than their family," and the dog ate "the attention up."

She said everybody loved seeing him as long as they did not "get whipped by his tail.”

"We are so glad that he was able to break the record and have that light on him," Tracy Wolfe said. "He absolutely adored the attention. I wish these giant breeds, and all dogs, could live longer than they do. It’s never enough time."

Kevin was named after character from movie 'Home Alone'

According to a press release from Guinness, Kevin joined the family after they lost their late Great Dane and a friend posted about the last Great Dane of a recent litter who needed a home.

He was named after the character Kevin from the hit 1990 Christmas movie "Home Alone."

What's the world's tallest dog?

Guinness World Records released the following statement after announcing the dog's death:

“We are deeply saddened to learn that Kevin suddenly passed away after unexpected health complications. "Tracy and the team at the vet clinic she works in did everything they could to save Kevin after he became ill. Our thoughts and support are with the Wolfe family as they navigate this difficult time."

It was not immediately known what dog now holds the record as tallest dog.

USA has reached out to Guinness.

Previous record holder was Great Dane named Zeus

Zeus, another Great Dane from Texas, previously held the Guinness record for the world's tallest living dog.

The 3-year-old dog, owned by Brittany Davis, died in September after developing pneumonia following an amputation and bone cancer diagnosis.

He stood 3 feet, 5.18 inches tall.
