I think someone got it right a couple of pages back with "My theory is that this song is about how Tuomas loved Tarja. I think, although I may be totally wrong, that it is called GHOST Love Score because it is a romantic relationship that never happened."
Well, along the right lines, anyway.
Firstly, Ghost Love Score is quite good.
Secondly, in terms of an emotional journey, this is as close to perfect as any song will come (comparable to Beethoven's Fifth, perhaps?). It would have my vote for best song ever written.
As many have stated, it probably refers to a betrayal between lovers. I'm not buying the Christian thing, not for one second, I don't think it's about that at all.
However, I think it refers specifically to Tuomas and Tarja. How much love existed between them, I won't claim to know. It could have been pretty literal, it could have been greatly exaggerated for storytelling purposes within the song, it could have been meant in an entirely platonic way, etc...
But, since we've now heard Dark Passion Play, we not only know how deeply Tuomas was affected by all that transpired with Tarja's departure, but also that he wasn't above writing a few songs about it. Namely, Bye Bye Beautiful seems to be looking back at her, almost fondly at times, despairing that she 'chose the long road' and didn't heed earlier warnings. Master Passion Greed is an all-out attack on Tarja's husband, who the band saw as having a very bad influence on her and turning her against them (could Tuomas have been jealous? Maybe, but I personally don't think that was it). And then there's The Poet And The Pendulum, discussing Tuomas' devastation after firing her, his thoughts of ending it, and finally him dealing with it.
So given all that, we know he was quite keen on her. Again, not necessarily in a sexual way, could quite easily have been a love of her as a friend (being in a band is often likened to being married - such as in Spinal Tap - it is quite possible he loved her out of 'them being in it together').
Bye Bye Beautiful is particularly important to our understanding of this theory, especially the line 'did you ever read what I wrote you?' This seems to strongly imply that there were messages within Tuomas' lyrics about Tarja not straying too far, lest she should fall. Specifically, these warnings would have to have been located before Tarja's departure, and since pressure had been slowly building to that point, it seems that the strongest and most obvious messages would be contained within Once.
And indeed, closer inspection reveals several interesting lyrics that could be relevant; 'These lines the last endeavour to find the missing lifeline' seems to be a final plea for them to get back to the glory days when all the band got on well together. I doubt 'old loves, they die hard, old lies, they die harder' or 'you challenged the Gods and lost' actually refer to her, though I think they're quite interesting. As is the opening of Creek Mary's Blood: 'Soon I will be here no more!'
Another very important sign was the choice of cover song for the Once tour, Pink Floyd’s 1994 track from The Division Bell, High Hopes. The most prominent line of the entire song is Marco’s wonderful call of ‘The grass was greener…’ This relates to a time of happiness now passed and unlikely to return.
Anyway, this got me wondering, are there any messages within the great Ghost Love Score itself? Well, though I’d loved the song for years, I never really studied the lyrics in depth. As soon as I opened up the lyrics page, it hit me, and I couldn’t believe I’d not spotted it before. ‘We used to swim the same moonlight waters. Oceans away from the wakeful day.’
Anyone remember the cover of an album from 1998 called Oceanborn?
Sure, it’s partly metaphorical, saying they used to want the same thing with the band, be on the same page in mindsets and all that, but the imagery is strikingly similar, swimming in a moonlit ocean, a deep blue in colour (‘blue’ being a word that crops up several times during this song).
The chorus seems to be begging her to turn back on the path heading away from him, warning her that if she leaves he will never fully recover. As with everything Tuomas has done with Nightwish, it’s all about her - ‘my fall will be for you.’
Ok, so why am I so sure it’s about those two? The answer lies in the quiet bridge in the middle, with the line ‘still I write my songs, about that dream of mine.’ Sounds awfully like Tuomas to me. We know he sees himself as the poet, the dead boy, the ocean soul, who else would he be talking about? It sounds very much like the same tone of phrase with which he describes his own songwriting concerns – ‘every thought, the music I write, everything a wish for the night,’ ‘every single verse can only be composed of the greatest of pain,’ and ‘one last perfect verse is still the same old song.’
Bearing that in mind, I think it’s about Tuomas. And that leads me straight on to think it’s about Tuomas thinking about Tarja.
The final bridge, about redeeming into childhood, seems to be twofold, firstly about his mind finding shelter in childhood memories in times of hardship (as previously mentioned in Away – ‘away, away, to a home away from care, every dream’s just a journey away,’ and later in The Poet And The Pendulum and the song named within – ‘my home was there and then, those meadows of Heaven, adventure-filled days, one with every smiling face’). Secondly, it might refer to a clean slate, to starting afresh and ridding them of all the ‘baggage’ the two of them carry (as in the Buffy episode ‘Tabula Rasa,’ if anyone else remembers that).
And then comes the final acceptance, she’s gone, not coming back, and however high I may yet climb, to quote the song, now I’ll bleed forever. And this ending, particularly on the End Of An Era DVD which doesn’t fade out, is probably Nightwish at their loudest ever – driving guitars, steadily rolling double bass drums, fairly continuous open hi hats (again, on End Of An Era, this evolves into the closest I’ve ever seen to Jukka playing a drum solo), massive orchestral textures and fanfares, and a massive chanting choir, hurling those memorable four lines out at full blast.
And in spite of that, soaring above it all comes Tarja, with one line: ‘My fall will be for you,’ because, as ever, in Tuomas’ world, it’s still all about her.
I'd love to discuss this topic further with people - if you'd like to, drop me an email at [email protected]

Well I agree with you in some parts, but I don't know if it's about Tarja. He himself said that they had a special relationship ,but between his lyrics and her voice, with no emotinal touchments. And that part in Creek Mary's Blood:Soon I will be here no more.<br /> It is not about Tarja for god sake,it's about the Indian culture, abut the greatest sin of white ppl, killing the Indians:'Once we were here, where we have been since the world began, since time itself gave us this LAND.Listen to Tuomas interviews before talking stupidities about that song here...-.-'
@Lapsellinen Well, there are a few lines which can be used for double effect like the first line of Dark Chest of Wonders "Once I had a dream and this is it" which they start almost all concerts (excluding the ones with Anette) with. Because (IIRC) playing live to the fans is exactly Tuomas, Jukka and Emppu's dream.<br /> <br /> While the line "Soon I will be here no more" is obviously about Indian culture it may have been used for double effect in End of an Era too.
@pyreweb The only problem is that this song was written long before they had the drama with Tarja, so it could not have been them.
Somehow when I analyse this, it makes me think of Tarja, a lot of songs on Once actually do. I started to think so because some of the lines in the chorus of Bye Bye Beautiful: "Did you ever hear what I told you, did you ever read what I wrote you, did you ever listen to what we played". That made me think that some of the songs were messages for Tarja and when you listen to some of the songs on Once, you start to see it.
That's my interpretation however, not necessarily yours Anyway here's my analysis of the song.
"We used to swim the same moonlight waters Oceans away from the wakeful day" They once had the same dreams and opinions of the music, and he thought that would never change.
"My fall will be for you My love will be in you If you be the one to cut me I'll bleed forever" He cares a lot for her, sees her as a kindred spirit, which would make it so much more hurtful if she would betray him.
"Scent of the sea before the waking of the world Brings me to thee, into the blue memory" The memories of the days when she was still like him when it came to music, before she changed, brings him some kind of sadness even though it is nice to think about it.
"A siren from the deep came to me Sang my name my longing" She came into his life at the right time, and he saw how she could help him with sharing his poems and songs with the world, what he longed for the most. She is described as a siren, because of her amazing voice, but also because something was luring under the surface that he did not see at that moment.
"Still I write my songs about that dream of mine Worth everything I may ever be" He still sees the music and lyrics as the most crucial thing, as the thing that is important to both of them. And that it will always be so.
"The Child will be born again That siren carried him to me" She seemed like his muse, she gave him inspiration (the child being his innocence and the imagination for his songs).
"First of them true loves Singing on the shoulders of an angel Without care for love n` loss" He thought that he had found a kindred spirit and he never thought it would be over so he flew high and felt happy.
"Bring me home or leave me be My love in the dark heart of the night" He starts to feel that something is wrong and it leads to depression, he only finds comfort in something familiar.
"I have lost the path before me The one behind will lead me" He has lost his course and only by remembering the values they had at the beginning he will find the right course again.
"Take me Cure me Kill me Bring me home Every way Every day Just another loop in the hangman`s noose" He wants it all to stop, because he feels like he and the band is near the end no matter what they do.
"Take me, cure me, kill me, bring me home Every way, every day I keep on watching us sleep" Same as above. He feels that he can't wake the band again, that it's doomed.
"Relive the old sin of Adam and Eve Of you and me Forgive the adoring beast" He feels like he was tempted into doing what he wished the most, because he found someone so much alike himself. And now he begs for forgiveness because he let himself be tempted in such a way that almost let him into decay. He sees himself as the Beast that fell in love with the Beauty because she saw something in him that not a lot others had. And now he sees that she betrayed him and he wants the world to forgive him for that.
"Redeem me into childhood Show me myself without the shell" He wants his innocence and his dreaming back, he wants to feel like he can trust the world again, the trust she took away when she changed, because he was certain she was never going to, but he was wrong and he started to feel that something was wrong with his judgmental skills and therefore he could never trust anyone.
"Like the advent of May I`ll be there when you say Time to never hold our love" He will be there when she confesses that her intentions were not as she first expressed them to be and that the mutual love for music is no longer there so there's no reason to think about it anymore.
"My fall will be for you My love will be in you You were the one to cut me So I`ll bleed forever" After all what he gave for it to work out she kept going down another path that was so different from his own and because of that he feels like they have nothing in common anymore, which truly hurts him.
Well that's my analysis and interpretation. You're allowed to disagree and I would love to hear your opinion.

@NekoMcEvil I liked your interpretation. except for one "verse" <br /> "Like the advent of May<br /> I`ll be there when you say<br /> Time to never hold our love"<br /> <br /> I think that here he states that if she'll change her mind, everything will go back as it was. That he will always be there waiting for her to come back because "Time to never hold our love" there is no expiration date on what they had and it wont lose value.
@NekoMcEvil after reading several pages of comments, yours is the best version to my opinion. It fits the best in my mind. :)
This song is so beautiful that if it were in a movie, it would win an Oscar. I was blown away with its magic and even though I've heard the song millions of times, the magic never fades.-Hayley

This song brings me close to tears everytime I hear it. It means a lot to me. The sense of loss that one cannot recover from... another song in a totally different style that reminds me of the feeling I get listening to this is "Outlaw Torn" by Metallica, but this is more epic than even the S&M version of Metallica's song.
impossible to stop loving someone, ghost love
We used to swim the same moonlight waters Oceans away from the wakeful day -I take this whole song about a "lost love". It seems to me that Tuomas is trying to say when he wrote this that he was very in love with someone. The "oceans away from the wakeful day" means they were far off from reality and when the love ended he “awoke“ and was very hurt. I think this song begins at the beginning or middle of the relationship.
- My fall will be for you - My fall will be for you My love will be in you If you be the one to cut me I`ll bleed forever -Obviously he was very in love with this person, and if the relationship ended he was always going to be haunted by the love they once had.
Scent of the sea before the waking of the world Brings me to thee Into the blue memory -I think this means that he dreams of this person, "before the waking of the world". The blue memory is the ocean, in which Tuomas seems to refer to in many of his songs. Skipping some repeated lines here...
A siren from the deep came to me Sang my name my longing Still I write my songs about that dream of mine Worth everything I may ever be -This part is a tad confusing to me...I think the "siren" is referring to the memories of this love, especially the word "deep". As in "deep, blue sea", once again a reference to the oceans they "swam" in. This "siren" or memory is bringing back the pain of this love that he seems to constantly yearn for. The last part is kind of just stating that he still longs for this dream of being with this person, and the relationship obviously meant everything to him.
The Child will be born again That siren carried him to me First of them true loves Singing on the shoulders of an angel Without care for love n` loss -"The Child" is used a lot in Nightwish songs. I think what that part is saying is that he is going to be "born again", referring to letting go of the pain and starting over. "The siren", once again, is the memory of his childhood being brought back to him...Back where he was innocent, "singing on the shoulders of an angel", and didn't worry about love and didn't know what it really meant to lose something close to him.
"Bring me home or leave me be My love in the dark heart of the night I have lost the path before me The one behind will lead me" -Once again, confusing… I think the reference to "home" is meaning that he had been with this person so long that he forgot what life was like without them. You know the saying, "There's no place like home". It’s the most comfortable for you to be… Without this love, he feels like he is strayed away from where he is most comfortable and he wants to be left alone unless he can inhabit the love with this person again to feel at “home” and in peace. "My love in the dark heart of the night" means that their love is lost, and he feels like he has lost everything and needs someone to help support him from falling behind. “The one behind will lead me”.
Take me Cure me Kill me Bring me home Every way Every day Just another loop in the hangman’s noose -Obviously expressing the pain he is feeling and longs for this love that he can no longer have with this person. He wants them to be with him so he can have the comfort that he found inside them back.
Take me, cure me, kill me, bring me home Every way, every day I keep on watching us sleep -He keeps dreaming of being with this person.
Relive the old sin of Adam and Eve Of you and me Forgive the adoring beast -Basically meaning that he wants to get rid of the guilt and hurt that has been caused. Obviously referring to the story of Adam and Eve and how they fell into temptation and were forbidden from the Garden of Eden but were forgiven for their sins…
Redeem me into childhood Show me myself without the shell Like the advent of May I`ll be there when you say Time to never hold our love -He wants to go back to childhood when he did not have much worries and was pure. The "shell" is basically referring to how as people get older they tend to build a wall or shell around themselves, shutting people out...And when you are young you tend to be more open and careless. And basically I think on that ending part it’s saying he will always care for that person, “I’ll be there when you say”, but is forced to move on and let go.
- My fall will be for you - My fall will be for you My love will be in you You were the one to cut me So I`ll bleed forever -This seems to be the ending part of the relationship, because at the beginning of the song the phrase stated: “If you be the one to cut me, I’ll bleed forever,“ I stated at the beginning that it seems like this is the beginning or middle part of the relationship. And now says: “You WERE the one to cut me, so I’ll bleed forever.” Referring to the relationship being over.
Beautiful song. I hope I helped people out a little; it’s hard to interpret Nightwish songs. Tuomas is truly an amazing and deep writer.
i vote for the first love theory, and the bit "you were the one to cut me so i'll bleed forever" is like saying you were the one who introduced me to love, and so now i will continue to love, even if you aren't my partner at least thats what i think i get a nostalgic, pensive tone from this song, fits in i suppose, no one really ever forgets their first love, even if they get over that person

Imena - Agree. =)
This song is epic, especially nearing the end when it comes back round to the chorus again and repeats to fade. Certainly my favourite on the ONCE album.
Such an amazing song.
I love this song, it's so beautiful and epic, and the chorus is so haunting

Ghost Love Score Nightwish Lyrics
The opening lines of Nightwish's Ghost Love Score perfectly sets the tone of the entire song. It speaks of two people who used to share a beautiful connection, swimming in the same moonlight waters and far away from the reality of everyday life. The lyrics suggest their love for each other is deep and they are so intertwined that any fall or suffering they might endure will be for the other. The line "If you be the one to cut me, I'll bleed forever" is a beautiful metaphor suggesting their love is never-ending, and if one were to leave the other, the love would still remain as a part of them always.
Furthermore, the song speaks about the power of memory and how it can transport someone to a different time and place where they felt boundless happiness. The scent of the sea before waking can trigger thoughts of someone special and transport the singer to a world of blue memory. The song also mentions a siren who brings the child of one of the true lovers, showing how the power of love goes beyond the ordinary world. The repeated lyrics "Take me, cure me, kill me, bring me home" might suggest a longing for a certain kind of love where one feels complete and safe, no matter the cost.
Overall, the lyrics of Ghost Love Score speak about a love that is powerful enough to transcend time and space, that goes beyond reality and enters the realm of dreams and memories. It's a beautiful song about being lost, being found, and most importantly- being loved.
We used to swim the same moonlight waters We used to be in the same place, enjoying the same peaceful environment, away from the daily hustle and bustle.
Oceans away from the wakeful day We were physically far away from the daily routine of life.
My fall will be for you I would give my life for you without hesitation.
My love will be in you My love will always be with you.
If you be the one to cut me If you were the one who caused my death by cutting me, I would love you even in death.
I'll bleed forever My love will always remain, just like blood that never dries.
Scent of the sea before waking afterwards The smell of the sea before waking up from a dream reminds me of you.
Brings me to thee It brings me closer to you, even if you are physically far away.
Into the blue memory I'm taken back to a nostalgic memory when I'm reminded of the scent of the sea.
A siren from the deep came to me I was drawn to a siren's call from the depths of the sea.
Sang my name my longing The siren called out to me, awakening my deep desires.
Still I write my songs about that dream of mine I'm still inspired by that dream, and my songs reflect it.
Worth everything I may ever be That dream is worth everything I could ever achieve or become.
The Child will be born again The siren's call has a profound, life-changing effect on me.
That siren carried him to me The siren brought me a new perspective on life.
First of them true lovers The siren's call reveals to me the true nature of love.
Singing on the shoulders of an angel The siren's voice is so beautiful that it feels like she is singing on the shoulders of an angel.
Without care for love n' loss The siren's call is so powerful that it transcends the fear of losing love.
Bring me home or leave me be Either take me back to where I belong or leave me alone.
My love in the dark heart of the night My love is still present even in the darkest and loneliest times of the night.
I have lost the path before me I'm unsure of my direction in life.
the one behind will lead me I'll look to where I've come from for guidance.
Take me Take me as I am.
Cure me Help me heal from my past wounds.
Kill me Free me from my pain, even if it means my death.
Bring me home Take me back to where I feel safe and loved.
Every way In every possible way.
Every day Every single day.
Just another loop in the hangman's noose Every day feels like a repetition of the same thing, like being stuck in a never-ending cycle.
Relive the old sin of Adam and Eve Experience the same mistakes and consequences as Adam and Eve did in the Bible.
Of you and me In our own relationship.
Forgive the adoring beast Forgive me for my flaws and imperfections.
Redeem me into childhood Make me innocent again, free from the weight of my past.
Show me myself without the shell Help me see myself without any pretense or masks.
Like the advent of May Like the start of a new beginning.
I'll be there when you say I'll be there for you whenever you need me.
Time to never hold our love It's time to release our love from our grip and let it be free.
My favorite song to sing live is Ghost Love Score! On my first tour with Nightwish I started to sing the ending differently, to add something to it. Then there was a concert DVD [2013’s Showtime, Storytime] showing this, and everyone wanted to keep hearing the new ending. It suddenly became a ‘thing’ – there was expectation, so it became special for me. Thank you everyone! <3
Thank you! for taking an already perfect song and taking it to a new dimension. -and you do that with most, if not all of your performances. There are 7+ billion people in the world. Most of us would be happy to be the right piece that completes a puzzle. It's awe inspiring to see that it's possible to not just be a piece that can finish the puzzle, but you can also add a glossy finish & a sculpted frame to it. You & Nightwish - Please keep making that beautiful music for the soul
One of the best songs ever
Echt Floor, ik vind dit zo´n uitzonderlijk goede uitvoering. Zelfs na tig keer geluisterd te hebben blijft het kippenvel komen. En zeker het einde,. Magistraal.
I listen to this one at least once a week! :)
This performance was my introduction to Nightwish, and every time I revisit it's so energizing and inspiring to hear and see. Thank you for sharing your art with us!
Here in 2023, and this is still possibly one of the best performances by any band ever.
Stop saying "ever" goddamnit
Jukka Nevalainen is probably one of metal's most underrated drummers. His work here is hands down one of his finest. Kai is a great, GREAT drummer, no doubt, but I miss Jukka.
I miss Jukka too. Kai is incredible, but Jukka had that special touch in his drums, specially in this song. You can clearly tell the difference between both of them.
One more here, I miss a lot Jukka. He Had a magic touch on the drums, and a charismatic presence on stage. He was a show inside the show.
To me, it's like the difference between Portnoy and Mangini in Dream Theater: both fantastic drummers, but one has a distinct style and personality that's hard to not feel is missing after he's gone.
Not only do I miss jukka, but also tarja. Now, don't get me wrong, I love floor and the work She's been doing with nightwish so far, but tarja will always have a special place in my heart.
Every once in a while I’ll come back to this and it hits me all over again. It’s honestly one of the most powerful live performances I’ve ever seen
Genuinely, one of the greatest jubilations of music and life put on stage. I cannot imagine how it must've felt to perform that, let alone experience it live.
randomly came back to this video after ... no idea how long... came here to post this same thing. actually gives me goosebumps at a few points in the song, in the actual sense, not just the figure of speech. shits electric, man. she really nailed it. I think she even knows she did right there at the end
This must be one the greatest live performances ever by humans doing ANYTHING AT ALL. I can’t stress enough how difficult it is to sound like that live. Incredible
Listen to Roy Khan kamelot -abandonned live
I agree it was stellar, but ofc the backing track of the orchestra and choir is doing a huge amount of the work in this song.
The sound mixing team at Wacken deserve a Nobel prize.
Yes, that recording was very well done. Visually AND sound. Also capturing those many details of the band, of the crowd.
It seems the majority of the praise goes to Floor’s vocals, which are otherworldly amazing, to be sure. But the band is truly outstanding as well and you couldn’t hear any of them with out the superb excellence of the audio folks who captured/mixed it for all to enjoy. This performance was the perfect storm of excellence!
Can we just all point out that youtube has committed a war crime by putting an add in the middle of this masterpiece?
I suggest using OPERA as you browser. No ads in the middle will ever be seen again.
or use a add-blocker
@Theo van Roosmalen OPERA is a superior browser. Many of the handy feature we see in other browsers were first developed by OPERA.
@Rancid Jane True but now it falls behind on other stuff. Other simply have the money to copy and be seen as the best throw stuff as android preinstalled. Same goes for the death of Hotmail because Gmail presence. Even facebook and his derivates is all about copy or forced purchases of others.
@J. R. Other than Youtube I studiously avoid all things google. I keep hoping google will be forced to spin off youtube.
Not just "One of the best performances in metal music history", but simply One of the best performances (and songs) in music history , period.
1991 Monsters of Rock - Moscow AC/DC Metallica Pantera The Black Crowes Just my humble opinion (also the f**king attendance was unreal)
What an incredible performance by our amazing Floor Jansen and the whole Nightwish band. For this to be her first introduction to this crowd of 82,000 screaming people was so wonderful. Legendary.
Imagine being IN that crowd at the time!
I was part of the 106000 Donington Park '92 when it was simply Monsters of Rock, Iron Maiden headlined, n sadly 2 lost their lives that day, a sheer tragedy, n a sobering thought when I read it in the newspaper 😢
I just cried at that ending. It stabs into my heart at the exact right spot. This is a masterpiece of music history.
I think what makes this song so tear inducing is the fact that you can clearly tell she isn't just singing a song, she is really feeling it. Like, it's easy to sing lyrics, but to understand and to really feel the music and what the song is about, that is rare. Most music on the radio is supposed to sound emotional, but you can clearly tell the singer just wants to sing the song as technically sound as possible. In this, it feels as if she doesn't even care about the singing aspect. She has something to express and she does it. That's what makes this so incredible.
@Finkel - Funk Yes, that's true. And with Floor, although if it feels she doesn't care about the singing, her singing is so perfect, so effortless.
@@Finkelfunk It sounds effortless because she is a great professional. ;)
Yh I wish I was there WOW
I have watched this 100 times, and it still gives me goosebumps
As a guitar player myself, I really respect their guitarist that don't go over the top and not trying to show off with some fast shredding and riffs. Guitarists have big ego. But he's not. He knows his place as musician, and as a result, he makes beautiful music. If that makes sense.
In other words, he is playing for the song, not for himself. The entire song is an epic arrangement, and an over-the-top guitar solo might overwhelm or overpower in the wrong way. This solo was quite laid back, but sounds 100% intentionally crafted to match the mood and atmosphere of the whole song as one entity.
Empu displays and incredible range of skill and restraint. A true artisan.
Nightwish is far more a family than a band. Sometimes Floor is called "the front woman" but she refers to the other band members as "my brothers" . Say no more...
Sounded just like a Steve Rothery's solos 🤔
For sure! Makes complete sense.
I am 68 years old. I have always loved heavier rock. One of my sons alerted me to Nightwish and sent me through this video. What can I say - Absolutely stunning, the music is wonderful, but those vocals are sensational. Floor is magnificent. To those of you that say you can't stop watching it - I get it - I can't either.
I'm 55, always had a passion for rock/metal bands with female leads. This group blows me away! I just discovered them on a friends recommendation.
@Markus Allen - i'm 59 - same here - - just discovered them and Floor about a month or so ago - this was the first song i heard from Nightwish - and i have listened to Floor sing this song several dozens of times now.... i'm hooked...
@Jonni IInferno The same for me
It has only been watched 30 million times in 9 years. It is a pity that most of the world does not realize what they are missing. This song and performance is a masterpiece, among the best in the world, and will be valued over time.
Thanks to the reaction scene, it's only a matter of time before everyone with an internet connection has seen this video.
I believe that this is the greatest song of al times❤
@Sandra Aalders Definitely I agree with you.
@Sandra Aalders Agree Nightwish fan age 71.
bro "only" 30 million
It's simply the best performance ever , by any artist , singer , song writer , ANYBODY
in my humble opinion, this is their best live performance, ever … the Queen of Valkyries … and not to forget the absolutely amazing talent on that stage beyond Floor … from the song writing to the total, performance including the amazing drummer … all in all an 10/10 plus
floor in her prime was one of the best mainstream musical artists to ever do it, shes was almost a 4 octave in classical terms, mariah carey is the only other mainstream artist whos better imo she was an actual 4 octave in her prime.
@2ndcitysaint52 Mariah Carey is good singer, but does not even come close to what Floor can do.
Their best live performance ever, yes. The best live performance ever? It's impossible to pick, there are so many incredible performances and concerts to choose from, all magnificent in their own way.
@RickkyP true … I should have used “their” instead of “the”
@Steve Abrams Yeah sorry to be picky lol. But I'd just been on a series of concerts from pretty much every decade and on every single one 'NO ONE MAKES MUSIC LIKE THIS ANYMORE!'
An amazing performance of the band, yes, but, man, FLOOR JANSEN is ia not from this world. She's perfect on every single note, she has all of the ways, the tricks, the technics and she uses it with such an artistic and technical perfection. It's like she can do whatever she wants with her voice and she always make the best choices. She is a complete singer. it was so sad to hear the news about her health... Hope she can overcome the cancer as soon as possible and can keep filling the world with the beauty of her art. We love you, Floor.
Tuomas doesn't get near enough credit, he is a genius. In the future his name will be mentioned with all the greats.
Floor is a perfect example of why sailors would voluntarily crash their ships into the rocks following the siren songs
This is amazing and made my day.
That's deeper then expected :O
this feels good...right...i feel at peace.....
Thing is with Tarja and Annette, Nightwish had singers, incredibly talented singers let it be said, 2 of the best female singers in metal. At Wacken 2013 Nightwish finally found their LEAD singer in Floor. Not many metal performances can top this whole performance
I am still BLOWN AWAY !!! So much of greatness its not possible to put my emotion into words !!!!
I have to come back at least twice a year and watch this incredible performance and voice. I actually get tears in my eyes.
I have heard this song a million times and still every time it brings tears to my eyes and makes the hairs stand up everywhere and sends shivers down my spine , it by far is the single best live performance I have ever heard and probably will ever hear floor is incredible and absolutely owns the stage , not taking anything away from the band at all as they are amazing too but vocally this is just mesmerising
even better when I saw them live performing this
@@andrewshaw5347 I bet
I just saw this live at Kitee a couple of days ago. She is 7 months pregnant and she totally nailed (floored) this again. Ten years after this Wacken concert. Nightwish forever ❤❤❤❤
I just saw them closing the show at Nova Rock 2 weeks ago and I was like "heck, that baby began it's life on tour, if it were born on stage that would certainly make rock history!
Oh wonderful, I didn't know she was pregnant again, how lovely~
The drummer gets little credit for his performance. so much energy he brings. Kudos to him
No kidding! I watch him a lot and I he's an animal!
Jukka is one of the most intense drummers I've ever seen
Yes and unfortunately he is no longer in the group
It´s so awesome though how Floor shows her appreciation to him with a small gesture at the end of the song, after her own out of this world performance
@G.S. He's with them in an administrative role but not performance role. It's sad but understandable.
Can we give a shout out to the sound guys at this performance? Also Floor's crescendo is just incredible. She's one of the best vocalists this world has ever and will ever know
Her voice is unbelievable
As a 60 year old rocker I had never heard of Nightwish until a few months ago, and I almost cry each time I watch this flawless performance. My wife just watched the video and told me 'Xena The Warrior Princess goes full Finnish Symphonic Metal!!!'. Looking forward to see them live next time they visit Puerto Rico!
... for Xena and Gabrielle check Epica - Sancta Terra (feat Floor Jansen): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cx22Yuj2nzg
World Classs...... one of the best performance of all time !!!!! love from DK
May this song stay remain till end of the day love from all the world 🌎
Special thanks to Tuomas Holopainen for writing this gem. He is a music genius.
he truly is, the music comes from the heart then its real
genius is actually an understatement. I don't think there's an adequate word in the dictionary to describe the indescribable talent this man has..
He's a genious composer no doubt. Not so much for lyrics, I could've written better when I was 16. :P
Do it, then 🤷🏼♂️
@Markus Tupala I'm not 16 anymore. ;)
Every. single. time. I get back to this, it just hits me like a truck. Floor is an absolute genius of a musician.
Wow. First time hearing them— & this is insanely body chilling. THIS is music/art!
yea first for me too , played this at 3am to wake up
This has been one of my favourite songs since I first heard it, the summer of 04. I've mostly avoided listening to covers because I love the original so much. But even so, how? How did it take 9 years to listen to Floor Jansen's out-of-this-world rendition?.... That ending was fucking insane.... Goosebumps...
This song feels like your being transported on an epic adventure through another dimension.
a different time and place
Right back to 2007 when I first heard this amazing masterpiece
No matter how many times I listen this song...... goosebumps guaranteed. Amazing live performance Floor ❤❤❤
Tuomas: His Best Composition Floor: Her Best performance Nightwish: Their best mood and capability ever Conclusion: One of the best performances in metal music history
Most definitely true...
A bold statement, not without merit.
Not their best mood nor capability... In terms of what's out here for us to see, "From wishes to eternity" has to take that statement home...
No way. The best performance of this song was in the end of an era show.
@Rafa Soa The highlight of this performance is Floor's incredible singing at the end of the song and especially that last note, which is called "Floorgasm" by the fans. This part wasn't even a part of the performance in the end of an era and Tarja leaves the stage before the song ends. How can it be a better performance?
this performance set's my Finnish DNA on fire! Wonderful!
One of, if not, THE best drumming performances I have witnessed in all my 60 years. Comparison between the two singers is irrelevant as they bring their own energy to the song. That being said, I believe this has to be the best version of the song ever. Performance of all the members is faultless. Bravo!!!
1001x better than the studio album, this IS GHOST LOVE SCORE.
So 1002x as good as the studio album?
Ghost Love Floor
cant agree more!
Never get tired of listening to this performance, absolutely perfect! 👌
My god she realy made this song her own. One of the best metal sung of any femal focalist ever shown live, ever
Satan talking to Eve: "We used to swim, the same moonlight waters" Satan talking on future events when he ONCE again falls to earth 🌎 and everyone (and I mean everyone) in "some" form wakes up! : "Oceans away from the wakeful day!" You can even hear Satan's downward decent on Empuu's guitar right here. 1:38 And it is so fitting that right after you hear it, the camera pans to fans doing the metal/devil horn sign with the hand. Amazing
The dwellers of the Earth are Eve in the second line about the, then, future. And it's so obvious after that "My fall will be for you" come on people WAKE Wake up, this music is awesome; if you know about it its even more awesome. I listen to it everyday in worship in contrary to faith
If suddenly the whole music disappeared from the world, but we're given the chance to listen to only one song one last time, I would definetly choose this
It would either be this or Octavarium by Dream Theater
Same for me! ❤️
don't forget The Greatest Show On Earth (in addition of being as awesome as this, it is longer :D) but in principle, I agree with your choice
I’ve got a few choices but this is right up there
Not just this song, this version!!!
nobody, nobody does it better then Floor, what a performance <3
WOW. This was the first time I’ve heard of this track or the band… and I’m amazed! Incredible performances by everyone. Now, I’m like… who ARE these folks and what kind of rabbit hole am I about to fall into, here?
Kinda jealous ngl. To hear all this for the first time again would be amazing.
@@crankfastle8146 Right? Heard Nightwish for the first time when I was 11. I'm now 30 and OOF.
This is incredible performance, goosebumps every time.
Floor for you the world is yours, that band allowed to make that song Floor Unique says alot about Tuomas, Emmpu, Marco, Troy, and the respect they have for your talent & dedication to the band & genre of music. The ultimate compliment. To the GOAT and your unique style! You desrve it!. Not onlt only that but at my lowest point in my life when life wasnt worth living you and the band brought back my will to live & thrive in life. Thank you for saving my life! I owe all of you so much!
The ending is beyond brilliant , as is the whole performance.
Not sure how many people realize that this is pure art. The singing technic, the music arrangement, the amazing atmosphere... Pure art!
Floor Jensen is simply an incredible singer...
Welcome to Nightwish. It's always a beautiful experience. The Poet and the Pendulum is another in case you're looking for more. That song has never once failed to bring me to tears.
Ya... Not like it's a literal stadium enjoying the experience in person while you pretend you're some lone appreciator on your keyboard 🙄
Just head bangers, most pill and drug fucked.
One of the greatest live performances I have ever seen. The whole band is just perfect on this track. Obviously Floor Jansen's vocals are otherworldly, which makes this whole performance look even greater still. Whenever people complain about live performances being lesser than studio productions I always point to this very video.
To Gabriel and the whole Nightwish Army. This song started my NW journey and I can honestly say it made my whole life better and richer. You are the best and only army we need. Thank you all.
Floor Jansen actually delivered her own flavour to this song. damn she's good. difficult songs like this is when you know they found the perfect replacement lead singer.
The most underrated Drummer in the world : Jukka 🤘🏽♥️
Jesus Christ, those high notes, absolutely amazing and unbelievable!
I just discovered Nightwish. I'm 70+ and never heard your music before. I'm devastated that I missed it all these years. Beautiful.
Better late than never. ;-)
Its not even late. It never is.
Opposite, yet similar for me. I was way into them when I was about 12-13 then somehow lost interest. I'm 27 now and just recently rediscovered them and was instantly captivated by their new singer. I'm seriously kicking myself for sleeping on them for over a decade.
it's never late my good sir, rock on!
You are not too old to headbang at a gig next time they tour.
Goosebumps. Every. Damn. Time!
I know this is super late to the party but as a fan of Nightwish since the 90's I think Floor is the best vocalist they have ever had.
OH, My God!!!!!!!!! I am 60. I have jammed too many Metal Bands over the years. (Live in the Midwest USA). I have about 70 favorite Youtube Videos from various metal bands I listen to. Since I have found Nightwish, I can say I haven't listened to any other bands on my favorite list in months and I have one CD in the 4runner. This concert is on CD. There is nothing better than the performance, energy, musical rhythm, Floor's unreal stage presence and control of the crowd, and overwhelmed voice presence. It's unreal. Magical sound from the whole band. Even though the band has changed a bit since this show, it's still topped!!!!!! I bow my head to all of you!
This is my neighbor's favourite NightWish song whether he likes it or not
wow original comment dude.....like i never seen it almost a thousand times..
Metal Mania ❤️ I have seen it 2000 times 😉😂 I regret i wasen’t there 😒 Trust me... next time😃
@SWEDEN REACTS you regret you wasn't with the 2000 people writing that same comment? :) But yeah next time!
Metal Mania The same?🤷🏼♂️ I just write.. don’t read because i don’t i give a fuck I
Only Floor Jansen can take an iconic song and make it better.
@V I I I Λ What puzzles you? What he is saying is pretty easy to understand 😂
My favorite version of Ghost Love score. I've always thought it was a beautiful song. Tuomas writes such beautiful music, really a great talent! There was something magical about this whole concert. The sound is perfect, the band tight as ever and Floor really put her stamp on the music and was embraced by many. What I love about this version is the way Floor uses her voice: very diverse, which fits the song beautifully and then that end note! As far as I'm concerned, the best and most beautiful of which there is a professional live recording. The way "for" sounds here gives me so many goosebumps. Also my favorite ending in terms of melody (that can differ per performance). What I regret is that Floor no longer sings "Take me, cure me, kill me, bring me home" etc in the aggressive operatic way as on this version and the Tampere 2015 version. I think that fits that part really well, better than the more softer way she started singing it later where the vocals get drowned out by the music. I think that aggressive operatic way is great and very powerful. And lets not forget Emmpu's solo! Like all his other solos this one is beautiful and recognizabl! Just a pleasure to listen to and watch, this great performance!❤
An absolute piece of art. Tarja was the OG, but for me this is the best line up Nightwish has ever had.
Second statement: yes, first statement: nope. Floor is the OG by far.
@@rientsdijkstra4266 OG means "original", as in "original gangster". Look it up in a dictionary; I did just to double-check. Tarja was Nightwish's original lead singer, and part of the band for years during which they first became famous. She's the OG. That's a fact of history, and is totally separate from how awesome Floor is. Saying so doesn't take anything away from Floor.
@Peter Cordes OK, if OG stands for "original gangster", you may have a point, but not completely: Tarja may be the first to sing the original version of the song, but Floor reinvented it, and gave it new power and a new interpretation with her spectacular ending. So in that sense Floor certainly is the OG of HER version. And furthermore: the succes that Tarja has with her version of GLS, which was only published in 2018, is greatly thanks to the succes of the Wacken 2013 recording. So, in many ways Floor is just as much the OG as Tarja...
@Rients Dijkstra That's not how OG works pal. This song was written with Tarja's vocals, hence ONLY she can be the OG for this particular song, regardless of how well Floor performs the song. It doesn't mean one is better than the other, but that is how OG works.
@023 Caster You did not get my point, bloke. My point being that Floor re-created the song, and FOR THAT RECREATED VERSION she is therefore the OG. Actually, the difference is that Tarja simply sang what she was told, while Floor saw that the song needed something extra, and she added that extra oomph that song needed. And Tuomas Holopainen accepted that rewrite... So Tarja is the OG for the first version and Floor is the OG for the new and rewritten version.
I discovered FLOOR 2 years ago. Hearing this song for the first time was an amazing, emotional experience! It gives me Life! She's my new favorite female Voice.
Floor Jansen's voice is incredibly perfect.
The ending of this is easily one of the greatest moments of music history for me. Impossible to hear it and not get emotional.
Bryan T not only belting out a g#6 but holding it there. Floorless ;-)
I agree 100%.
Russell Beckham my max belt range is C# 😂 I feel inferior 😂😂
When Floor hits that final note I get goosebumps, every time!
I’ve heard this performance so much and I still get so emotional every time, a masterpiece!
I come here very often to get my goosebumps dose.
The most beautiful song to ever exist in this universe.
I say something else, but everyone can have an opinion
Ive watched this over and over for the last 10 years . This was her first performance in Nightwish , Floor Jansen , an unbelievable artist
Casi 10 años teniendo escalofríos cada vez que escucho esta versión de Ghost Love Score. Larga vida a Nightiwsh 🤘
I'm so happy we're not gonna lose her yet. Get well soon Floor, you're amazing. 🤘
@a 3842 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but now we know that she's alright.
@Lauri K Guitar Covers aw bless her. that’s great she’s doing okay. cancer is the worssttt :((
Funny that no one mention drummer here. He is responsible for like 70% of atmosphere in this song. Great job
Still miss Jukka, the world's best drummer.
Chris Turner says hello
I've only just found this band and music. Absolutely love it. Floor is so good. Yes, I noticed that there are several different drummers throughout the videos. This one really gets into it. Drummers are the timekeepers of music of course and drums seem to make this kind of music.
This guy is amazing, I love him. Their other drummer, the drummed from wintersun......amazing
70% of the atmosphere is the keyboard, not the drums...
Imposible no enamorarse de ella, esa voz y esa presencia, madre mía, QUE COMBINACIÓN!!!
I wish I could forget about Nightwish just to have the experience of listening them for the first time again. The day I first heard Ghost Love Score I got it on repeat for a whole hour, so blown away I was
i knew about this band but for some strange reason i never got into them. Ive recently found this live version of this song and ive instantanely fallen in love
I cannot listen to this without tears in my eyes. I am not sad, but I cry when I hear this.
Understandable. :) One would also cry when overwhelmed by the sheer beauty and power of something, or in this case, this song. 🥰
It happens to me as well. It's happening right now....
Holy shit, this is strikingly beautiful; how can it be possible to NOT shed a tear, or sob just a bit, during this quite mystifying, even magical performance? A sheer and powerful magnum opus here; well done to Floor, Marco, Tuomas, Troy, Emppu & Jukka for the performance! ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
It's 2023 and I'm still watching this spectacular concert and performance, Kudos to the drummer 🥁
Jukka doesn't nearly get enough credit. He's absolutely killing it here. What a legend.
Yess! Credits to the drummers,I as a drummer realized the effort of all musicians but Jukka killed it!
Many people are saying that, but could you describe to a noob ear, what that means? This performance is amazing, but I have no skills to say how something is great other to say that it is great.
YESSS I loved him ... too bad he has since quit nightwish. The new guy is just as good a drummer but hes no where near as hot :P
@Tuikkari a mix of two things - sound: he has just the perfect sound for Nightwish's music. deep, resounding, a heartbeat's vibe that keeps everything together - playstyle: simple, direct, once again perfectly fitting the music. There's so much going on through the song that technical fills would just compete for attention, so he goes for a seamless groove. He's there laying the foundations, until the song needs him to amp up the intensity, and then he makes his presence felt. A great example of talent at the service of the whole group
@Rapportus5 he haven't quit. He is doing management for the band because of his problems with amnesia. He might come back some time.
It's official... I have watched and listened to this over 200 times in just over 2 weeks... still gives me the chips, goosebumps, and teary eyes. 🤘🥵🤘
Floor is obviously a siren incarnate, Tuomas obviously knows how to create symphonic master pieces across multiple tempos and keys. But for once, can we just take a moment to appreciate the drummer. That end only added to my goosebumps. Hats off, sir!
To me, In 2023 this is still the best live performance I've ever heard
shoemaker live its also something to wonder, the final part floor kills it everytime. i had chills
Wow you're right, that's amazing! She is so talented :O Goes straight down my spine @@HyuchaKyrie
I hope he is doing well, I really miss him.
The drums are giving me LIFE!
I agree. And that last minute of the song he´s just driving. Like you said, no overplay. But it´s an incredible piece of drummery.
A nordic goddess singing beyond human capacity
Great Floor's performance, this made me listen to Nightwish again, everyday 🤘🖤
Just to think this is almost 9 years ago, once the "new nightwish signer", but now the "real nightwish singer". The irriplacable Floor Jansen. How I wish Jukka and Marko would return though....
I don't think Jukka will return as the drummer, it would be detrimental to his health.
IMPRESIONANTE LA VOZ LA BATERÍA EL TECLADO EL BAJO LA GUITARRA EL PUBLICO MUY ADMIRABLE
This particular performance by Nightwish and Floor Jansen's singing of Ghost Love Score renders her immortal in the world of music. There are no words to describe this particular performance by Floor and Nightwish. It is unrepeatable and amazingly indescribable in the English language.
Put this on after any performance at the Grammys and the crowd would probably be stunned into silence at actual music.
They would not understand and therefore try to attack it.
only things i really listen to in my car are Nightwish and Iron Maiden sometimes bon jovi all three are way better than the mainstream shit of today
you got that shit right.
They want Beyoncé and her huurundawerldgerlz
Sadly, that's probably not true at all. They'd be like, "I've never heard this on the radio before and it sounds different than the mainstream clones therefore it's not good."
Quanto mais eu assisto, mais impressionada eu fico. Sem palavras!
I have been listening to this music for year, my entire youthful years, and still cannot get enough. Thank you so much Nightwish 🙏
This song in particular, and this entire set in general, is probably one of the greatest live performances ever. I’m old. I’ve seen a few. I rarely get goose bumps at R&R shows, but this set gives them to me repeatedly. Too bad I discovered NW AFTER they already passed through my town. 😭😭. Next time for sure!!
I'm jealous of all the people who had the ultimate privilege to witness this piece of art live...
I was at one another year 😂
It would be good if the bass was good
2015, Munich, my first Nightwish concert and I admit I was pretty sceptical because I hadn't heard Floor before and really loved Tarja's style. Then they played "Ghost Love Score". My jaw dropped so hard I haven't seen it since. I remember being surprised that all the windows didn't shatter at that high note at the end.
@veladarney I saw them in Chicago a few years back and they played this in the middle of The Greatest Show On Earth. It was awesome!
Saw them in Reno NV, with Marco, WOA, 86k fans, Reno, 800, AMAZING
The first time I saw this video, I noticed the drummer. He was working HARD!! My shoulders and back started aching in sympathy. Kudos to him for a job very well done.
That scream at the end of the song is simply amazing, it gives me chills when I listen to
Essa música é a coisa mais linda desse mundo ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ghost Love Score Lyrics
We used to swim the same moonlight waters Oceans away from the wakeful day My fall will be for you My fall will be for you My love will be in you If you be the one to cut me I'll bleed forever Scent of the sea before waking afterwards Brings me to thee Into the blue memory
My fall will be for you Into the blue memory A siren from the deep came to me Sang my name my longing Still I write my songs about that dream of mine Worth everything I may ever be The Child will be born again That siren carried him to me First of them true lovers Singing on the shoulders of an angel Without care for love n' loss Bring me home or leave me be My love in the dark heart of the night I have lost the path before me the one behind will lead me Take me Cure me Kill me Bring me home Every way Every day Just another loop in the hangman's noose Take me, cure me, kill me, bring me home Every way, every day I keep on watching us sleep Relive the old sin of Adam and Eve Of you and me Forgive the adoring beast Redeem me into childhood Show me myself without the shell Like the advent of May I'll be there when you say Time to never hold our love My fall will be for you

Nightwish’s Tuomas Holopainen talked about the mysterious lyrics of “Ghost Love Score”: “For me it has a specific meaning that I am not going to reveal.”
During a wonderful interview for Metal.hu , shortly before the Budapest concert scheduled for 20 December, Tuomas Holopainen, mastermind of Nightwish , talks about his career, the complexity of his songwriting, and the immortal power of imagination. It is no news that Tuomas’ Nightwish has gone through several narrative phases. From the gothic and passionate moments of the first albums to the evergreen reminiscences of dream and fantasy, up to touch the most moving moments of escapism, and finally the infinite forms of science.
As Tuomas himself explains:
I’m not really embarrassed or ashamed of anything that we have done. But, yes, if you read through the lyrics of that song or the song “ Elvenpath”, for example, they are pretty hilarious. But nothing to be ashamed of, cause that’s just what we were back then. I love roleplaying games and we play boardgames all the time, I read fantasy all the time, so it is still there. Just during the last two albums, we have been keen on focusing something else – more science and reality, nature-based. But fantasy still lives strong. – Tuomas Holopainen
One of the most curious things is that the meaning of some songs still remains a mystery today, a riddle that Tuomas has no intention of revealing. This is the case of the sublime “Ghost Love Score” . Its power is contained in an anecdote featuring our Karelian bard and Floor Jansen:
We haven’t even talked about the themes of the songs with the other band members, I think there are still some songs… Just the other day we were talking about “ Ghost Love Score ” with Floor, and I asked her – do you know what the song is about? And she said “No, I’ve made my own story around it, so I know what I’m singing, but it’s likely not the same thing what you mean by it.” And this is the beauty of art, of music. (…) It is something different for everybody, but for me it has a specific meaning that I am not going to reveal of course – Tuomas Holopainen
We can safely say that Tuomas has achieved his goal. Considered the manifesto of symphonic metal, “Ghost Love Score” owes its beauty to its nuanced dictation and its indecipherable atmospheres. Then, Tuomas talks again about the future of Nightwish :
It’s not a dream for me at all to play Wembley Stadium one day or anything like that. All the ambitions and dreams lie in the music itself. I still hope that the best Nightwish album is yet to be made. – Tuomas Holopainen
So it seems that Nightwish still have a lot to say. Meanwhile, since we’ve talked about “Ghost Love Score” why not take a look back? With the two incredible performances of the End of An Era Tour and Wacken 2013.

What Does NIGHTWISH's FLOOR JANSEN Think Of All The 'Ghost Love Score' Reaction Videos?
In the latest episode of her "1 Minute Fan Friday" YouTube series, NIGHTWISH singer Floor Jansen was asked what she thinks of all the reaction videos from vocal coaches and other musicians to her performing the song "Ghost Love Score" . She responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET ): "I have been watching some of them. And it's, of course, amazing to see there are so many reaction videos. The downside of that is that it's sometimes hard to filter out the good ones. So I've been looking at people just really loving it, which is wonderful to see, but there's no actual technical analysis. But I have come upon a few that I really thought [were] interesting to watch. Since I'm not so objective, it's cool to hear the vision of people that come from a technical [background] or other musicians that know what it's like to make music. So that I find interesting. But I have to say I don't spend that much time watching videos."
Jansen made her live debut as the frontwoman of NIGHTWISH on October 1, 2012 at Showbox Sodo in Seattle, Washington following the abrupt departure of the band's lead singer of five years, Anette Olzon .
Jansen officially joined NIGHTWISH in 2013 and made her recording debut with the group on 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" album.
NIGHTWISH 's ninth studio album, "Human. :II: Nature." , was released in April 2020 via Nuclear Blast . The effort is a double album containing nine tracks on the main CD and one long track, divided into eight chapters on CD 2.
Last November, Jansen released her cover version of the song "Let It Go" from the Disney movie "Frozen" . She revealed that she got the inspiration to record the track through her four-year-old daughter Freja , who had been listening to it and singing it "for months."
