What are Razar knives? (According to Razar knives company)

According to its founders, Razar knives company, located in England and USA, was established in an attempt to provide high-quality, yet affordable, hand-forged kitchen cutlery that is accessible to the whole world.

As stated by the manufacturers, the feature that makes Razar knife sets stand out among other classic knives is that their blades are handcrafted by professional blacksmiths, using traditional equipment. Traditional craftsmanship is supposed to guarantee maximum levels of accuracy and quality.

Their knife sets are said to be made of premium materials and undergo several inspections to ensure high quality. Razar kitchen knives are available in ten different series. They can fit multiple cutting purposes, and different categories of users; either a professional chef or a regular home cook .

The ten sets are namely: Azure, Gladiator, Hayami, shadow, Phantom,  Wasabi, Platinum ice, Migoto, Titan, Samitto, and Kessaku series.

Razar knife set review: What’s included in the Razar knives Azure series set?

Among all other Razar knife series, the owners refer to “ Azure “ as their bestselling one . This may be attributed to the various options of kitchen and chef knives, included in this series, Azure.

As mentioned on the official website of the company, the Razar Azure series of kitchen knives is a Damascus knife set. It is composed of a handle made of colored epoxy resin and wooden burls, covering a full tang metal body for more stability and control. Attached to the handle is a Damascus  VG10 Blade composed of 67 fused layers, with a razor-sharp edge;  6-9 N, V taper grind.

This series contains four main kitchen knife sets: Chefs Bundle, Chefs Bundle (Anniversary Edition), Black Carbon, and Steak Knives . Each one of these sets is available in two or three additional versions: Deluxe Bundle, Chefs Bundle, and Chefs Starter Bundle, which makes it an all-purpose knife set .

In a Chef’s Bundle, a distinguishing feature is the knife’s comfortable handle,  which is made of blue epoxy combined with wood burls; attached to the VG10 Damascus blade. It is available in three different sets: Deluxe Bundle, Chefs Bundle, Chefs Starter Bundle ; each with a  wide variety of kitchen knives that go with everyone’s own personal preference.

The second  Chef’s Bundle ( Anniversary Edition) was released as a 2021 anniversary edition; only 200 sets of this knife collection were made. It is characterized by wood handles impregnated with red epoxy resin. There are three available sets of this collection: Deluxe Bundle, Chef’s Bundle, and Chef’s Starter Bundle .

The Black carbon set was exclusively released by Razar knives company as a black Friday celebration; only 200 knife sets of this collection were produced. The Handle is made of black epoxy and wood burls. This set includes only the deluxe bundle with a variety of 8 different knives.

The steak knife collection represents a special dedication to steak-lovers, so a special knife set for steak is included in the Azure series. It is a set of four knives, with handles made of a combination of blue epoxy and wooden burls.

Deluxe bundle; includes:

  • 9.5″ Chef’s knife : a 221 g weight, multipurpose knife with a curved blade towards the tip, suitable for different kitchen uses such as mincing, slicing, chopping of meat and vegetables, and disjointing large cuts.
  • 8″ Bread knife ;  a 174 g weight serrated knife for cutting through thick bread loaves.
  • 7.5″ Nakiri knife : a 237 g weight, japanese knife, whose entire blade is straight; suitable  for push and pull cutting mode.
  • 7″ Santoku :a 191 g weight Japanese-style-knife, which is a straight-edged knife  for slicing and  dicing.
  • 7.5″ Meat cleaver : 280 g heavy knife  for cutting through bones, meat, and thick vegetables.
  • 6″ Boning knife: 85 g weight knife with a sharper edge and tip for cutting through ligaments an d connective tissues, to remove raw meat from the bone.
  • 5″ Utility knife : 84 g weight knife  for chopping small food items and vegetables.
  • 3.5″paring Knife : 73 g weight knife used mainly for cutting, chopping, and slicing fruits and vegetables.

Chefs bundle :

  • 9.5 inch Chef knife
  • 8 inch Bread knife
  • 7 inch Santoku
  • 7.5 inch Meat cleaver
  • 6 inch Boning knife
  • 5 inch Utility knife

Azure Series Chefs Bundle

  Chefs starter bundle :

  • 9.5″ Chef knife
  • 8″ Bread knife
  • 6″ Boning knife
  • 5″ Utility knife

Besides Azure , the Razar Wasabi series is another famous Damascus knife set produced by Razar knives.

The Razar Wasabi knife is distinguished by its “Abalone comfortable handle”, with an ergonomic bolster connecting the handle and the blade, as described by the manufacturer. This design is said to offer a stable, more comfortable grip.

Like in the Azure series, the owners state that the knife’s handle encloses a full tang ; to ensure good stability and control.

Regarding the most important part; the blade is also made of 67 layers of  Stainless Damascus VG10 steel to achieve stability and strength.

There are three different bundles of the Wasabi series; Chef’s Deluxe Bundle, Honing Rod, and Wasabi series x (Chef’s Starter Pack). The honing rod is an exclusive component of this series. It is used for realigning the blade, for a sharper edge.

Razar knives reviews (Business transparency)

Though online shopping sites display plenty of legitimate products, many scammers sneak their way into the market. Those scammers set up fake online stores that look just like authentic ones.

Recently, social media platforms, for example, Instagram , have been hosting a lot of fake advertisements.

Fake Japanese knives are among the common scam products; they are originally manufactured in China , then sold on Aliexpress at very low costs. Scammers dropship those scam Japanese kitchen knives and sell them as original ones carrying their brand names.

Marketing claims Investigation

Surprisingly enough, a similar set of knives with the same shape and color, exist under the brand name “Shinkuju” , a company that also claims to sell original Japanese knives. This contradicts the company’s claims about having its own knife product line.

While Razar manufacturers boast about their quality knives being hand-forged, professional chef’s knives, with sharp blades made of VG10 Damascus steel, there were plenty of complaints about chipped blades and broken handles after just a couple of uses. Furthermore, some customers stated that the blade had a laser-etched pattern resembling a Damascus steel blade, but not an original one.

The Phantom series of Razar knives are said to be made of 7CR17 high carbon steel , which is in fact, Chinese and not Japanese steel, something that sounds alarming.

Some customers criticized the dullness of the cutting edge , a matter that sabotages the company’s claims about the “Ruthless” sharpness of their knives.

Where are Razar knives made?

Razar knives are made in China, based on numerous customers’ testimonies, while the company itself is registered in Toronto, Canada, as found through DNS lookup.

Admins of Razar’s Facebook page are located in the UK, USA, Russia, Phillippines, and Canada as detected through Facebook page transparency.

Are Razar knives made in china?

Yes , Razar knives are made in China , according to our own investigation some reviewers on Reddit, Trustpilot, and scam adviser.

Razar Knives are made in china

Razar Kitchen Knives Price

A strikingly suspicious issue is that the same knives, particularly the Phantom , blue-handle series of Razar knives, are sold on “Aliexpress”   at better price offers. They are also sold on another website under the brand name “Zeekka”. Zeekka knives are sold at a much lower price and are made in China .

This arouses our suspects that Razar might just be a “ dropshipping” company selling Chinese-manufactured knives , and doesn’t have its own line of production.

Razar knives customer reviews on razarknives.com website

It’s important not to ignore that almost all the customer reviews on the Razar knives’ website are positive , five-star reviews , which intrigues the company’s credibility.

Contact numbers

The contact numbers of the company seem to be virtual as many customers reported that the given tracking numbers did not work most of the time.

Third-Party Razarknives review

To be fair, I’ve found several reviews about Razar knives products and customer services on some popular, trustworthy review sites like Trustpilot, and Scamadviser.

Interestingly, Trustpilot included a lot of satisfied customers’ reviews in addition to the disappointed ones. However, some customers accused the company of faking the good reviews, which all seemed to have a common theme.

5-star review ratings on Trustpilot

Upon checking Scamadviser , you are going to find that Razarknives.com has an “ average to good “ trust score which means that this website is legit and safe to use, not a scam. On the other hand, the site stated some negative highlights about the Razar website’s honesty.

Scamadvisor trust rating report

Razar knife set customer reviews

As I’ve shown before, there are many Razar knives reviews on several websites. While some users warned about purchasing the knives, others recommended buying them.

A very common complaint is the delayed shipping time. Sometimes the orders are mixed-up, or even undelivered. Many reviewers struggle with tracking their orders , in addition to poor communication and customer service.

Customer complaints

Getting a deserved refund or replacement also seemed to be difficult for a number of customers, while others received either replacements,  their money back, or both.

To my disappointment, Shipping time is not the only problem reported in the reviews. As I’ve mentioned before, there were also some quality issues such as dull or chipped cutting edges, as well as damaged or unstable handles, either on delivery or after a couple of uses.

According to some reviewers, there is a great chance that Razar could be just a dropshipper selling fake Japanese knives .

 Razar knives Alternatives

1. iseya i-series 33 layer vg-10 damascus hammered japanese chef’s gyuto knife 210mm.

Definitely among the supreme Japanese knife brands, and essential addition to your collection of kitchen cutlery . It suits multiple cutting purposes.

33 layers of Damascus steel, with a VG10 steel core. This composition along with an HRC rating of 60 makes it the brutally sharp and durable knife of choice. A tsuchime pattern is exquisitely drawn on the sides of the blade to allow a smooth release of food off the blade.

For a comfortable, stable grip, the knife is supported with an ergonomic , D-shaped Japanese handle.

Worry no more about the knife is fake, as it is made by Seto cutlery , located in Seki, Japan . This company was known for manufacturing blades since 1908 .

TUO Kitchen Knife Set - 12 Pcs Knife Set with Wooden Block - Premium Forged German Stainless Steel, Ergonomic Pakkawood Handle - BLACK HAWK SERIES with Gift Box

2. TUO Kitchen Knife Set

This is for sure another reputable choice of knife sets with premium quality . The knives are supplied with an extremely sharp blade forged from German stainless steel . The blade is nicely smooth for easy slicing and cutting of food.

A safe and comfortable grip of the knife is provided through the TUO knife’s pakkawood ergonomic handle , with rivets offering more stability during use.

This series of knives is quite convenient for slicing, cutting and dicing all kinds of food, from stubborn meat to smooth fruits and vegetables.

3. Mac Mighty MTH-80

This set of chef’s knives is one of the trustworthy kitchen partners that help you with challenging kitchen tasks The blade is an artwork combination of curved german knives and Japanese straight ones.

Mac Mighty is a sharp knife , made of high carbon stainless steel . Whether it be rocking or a push and pull cutting style, Mac Mighty can handle both.

With an HRC rating of 59-61 , an amazing degree of sharpness could be guaranteed. A nice feature of the blade is its dimples, which allow food to detach smoothly, along with a handle of a perfect grip.

For longer durability, the knife should be handled with special care, and stored in a knife block so that the steel won’t go rusty.

  Verdict: Are Razar knives good?

Throughout this Razar knives review, I tried my best to guide you into the right decision, yet, you can see that the gathered information is pretty controversial.

Although Razar knives company might be legitimate, not a scam, there is still a considerable risk that you might be scammed. So, take care! If you are still interested in Razar knives, you’d better do a further search and check the reviews.

For a safer choice, you can go for one of the mentioned alternatives, either the splendid  Japanese Iserya series or the amazing Mac Mighty chef’s knives .

Never received my payment for returning the wrong product being delivered

The wrong product that I ordered was delivered so they instructed that I had to pay for the shipping cost to return. The shipping cost as much as the product cost to buy. It's been 6months amd multiple email to the company and I'm still out over $800. Now I don't even receive a reply email from the company.

Hi Rory, thank you for taking the time to write a review. All returns are checked upon arrival to check the condition of the knives which have been returned. If your knives were in returnable condition you would have received a full refund. A member of staff will send you an email to follow up. Kind regards, Razar.

I purchased the Wasabi series back in October last year. I love the knives so much, I competed the set with the bread knife and honing rod. Not only are these knives exquisite, they are super sharp. The fit into the hand is perfect giving you complete control of the blade. I am no chef but I do love cooking and after years of struggling with cheap, blunt knives, I decided to invest in a decent set. I did my research and compared with other knife manufacturers and am delighted that I went with Razar. Customer service is excellent and deal with any queries quickly and professionally. Delivery takes about two weeks but you are kept informed of delivery status throughout. I would not hesitate to recommend this company. These knives with certainly last my lifetime and I am so glad I made the decision to purchase. I see there are some bad reviews on here but in my opinion, I cannot fault Razar. There is no doubt in my mind that they are a reputable company and the BEST set of knives I have ever used. My son also commented on how brilliant they are and he is a really fantastic cook! Do not hesitate to purchase a unique set of knives. I wish there was the option on here to post a photograph. Thank you Razar!

Do not order from this company they are Cheap fakes

Do not order from this company, I made this mistake. Firstly they make getting a refund almost impossible, let’s see if I end up having to do a chargeback *See my updates on this*. Secondly, these knives are not made by Razar, they are a dropshipper for Chinese knives. If you search AliExpress you can find all the same products with the same images they use a third of the price. I bought a £250 set from Razar only to find the same ones on AliExpress for £22.50 a knife, just under a different “brand name”. Thirdly these knives aren't VG10 Japanese steel, they are a mix of Chinese crap, they are also not a Damascus fold as the site leads you to believe, the effect is laser printed onto the knives. You can find other reviews you can read which explain their dubious selling practices by a quick google search on if they are legit or a scam. Response to Razar reply: You state all your orders are shipped from your fulfilment Centre in the UK or USA? Seems a little bit strange for my orders packaging to have a label with a Chinese returns address on it doesn't it eh. Final Update: Getting a refund is literally impossible from these pirates. Not only is it illegal to send knives through the post in the UK (that includes couriers) which means it’s impossible without obfuscating what you’re sending, they are now holding my refund hostage over this review as they are asking me to change it (feel free to now assume most of their reviews are false or coerced). I have no choice but to do a chargeback at this point.

Hi Martin, thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We do not source our products via Ali Express, we produce our own stock and ship the bulk of our inventory from our two fulfillment centers which are located in both the UK and the USA. Certificates can be provided to prove our products are of the highest quality. Returns are extremely straight forward and all returned orders will be 100% refunded. A staff member will contact you to follow up to see if we can assist you further, Kind regards, Razar.

I’d be very weary of this company. I placed an order on 04.10.22 and tried to cancel immediately. This was immediately so there’s no way it has already been processed. I realised the knives would arrive too late (6-14days delivery) The company refused to cancel even though the order was only shipped on 12.10.22. The customer support just tell you they’ll ask the management, they cannot actually help. I received a tracking number and using this found out the the Royal Mail only received my package on the 23.10.22. The package arrived 27.10.22 so over 3 weeks for delivery. I managed to get a friend to collect them for me and I’ve now found out they’ve sent me the wrong ones. I’m not home to return them and after reading other reviews I doubt I’d get a refund even if I tried to. Save yourself money and hassle by using a different company. I haven’t seen the quality of the knives but reading the reviews it doesn’t look good. Can’t believe I ordered before checking the company reviews! AVOID!

Hi Kate, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. During the winter months, orders are processed as soon as possible due to the high demand, if the order has already left our processing facility a refund can not be processed until the knives are returned back to us. waste of time

I have placed an order last Nov 28, 2022, up until now I don’t have the items. I have called their support line, Ana (she’s the only one been answering my calls ever since) and have told me that the parcel is with DPD and confirmed that its on its way to my place. I have called DPD to check with my parcel and was told that it has been returned to sender last Dec 21. Now, I want to cancel the order and get a full refund but they want me to wait to receive the parcel first and send it back to them! What logic will that be? Since the parcel has been sent back to them? They will resend it to me and I will send it back to them? Please if you want an easy and smooth transaction, stay away from this company.

PRODUCT STILL NOT DELIVERED

PRODUCT STILL NOT DELIVERED. Terrible "Priority delivery" service. I ordered the delux set of Phantom knives as a Christmas gift on December 1st 2022 after checking Razor knifes delivery times and taking this in to account thinking that they would be delivered in plenty of time. After contacting the customer services and speaking to a member of the customer service team several times chasing up the order and to be told I would be contacted by thier dispatch manager I still have not had any form of correspondence from Razor knives. The website terms are not very transparent as they should be. A priority service from any other company would be 48hr delivery. After paying the extra for a "priority' delivery service it clearly is not. Royal mail have and are striking and this is no excuse. Everbody has had more than enough notice to arrange an alternative courier service than Royal Mail. I now do not have the gift that I ordered for my family member and because of the amount of the knifes cost I now no longer have the funds to find an alternative replacement. Absolutely disappointed and angry that I have been misled. Also very sad that I will not be able to give the gift that I thought I would be.

Hey Cory, thankyou for taking the time to write a review. From Feb all our fulfillment centers will be stocked up meaning shipping will go back to 1-3 shipping with the option for the next day, thankyou you for being patient at this busy time, all our shipping providers have been experiencing delays. Please drop us a message if you require any additional information and we will be happy to help, have a lovely new year 🎉Kind regards, Razar.

Appalling customer service/non delivery of order. Review amended.

I ordered a set of knives and a sharpener on 23.3.22, nearly £200 of kit. The items have been marked as "in transit to carrier" since 28.3.22. I contacted Razar knives earlier this week asking for my items or a refund. I was assurred my items were on their way and that it was not possible to give me a refund. Low and behold the sharpener arrived yesterday but still no knives and still no change in tracking. I'm very upset about the customer service offered. I just want my knives!! Update 16.4.22 I have amended my star rating as my knives have finally arrived and they are great, I'm very happy with them. I've only given 4 stars to reflect the truly appalling customer service. To state a product is dispatched from the UK but then it spends 2 weeks "in transit" to Royal Mail is unacceptable. Contacting by email gave us an unhelpful response., phoning them when my partner tracked down the number, wasnt a great deal better. I have absolutely no problem with these knives being imported even if they do come from China, what is annoying is the untruths.

Date of experience : April 08, 2022

Hi Lynne, thankyou for taking the time to write us a review, Orders normally arrive to the UK within 14 business days. We can see you have already received your sharpener. Your knives will follow within the next couple of days. A member of our support has dropped you a message to follow up. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Kind regards, Razar.

Sharpest and best knives I have ever used.

I have purchased several of your knives. I have bought the Wasabi series - Chefs deluxe bundle, and bread knife and from the Migoto series - Kiritsuke, Nakiri, Chefs knife, and Utility knife. These knives are the best and sharpest knives I have ever used. My son is a chef and he always looks for great knives. We have tried many many different knives and these are definitely the best. The only reason I left 4 stars instead of 5 stars, as these knives deserve, is because when I got the bread knife it had some nicks on both sides of the blade and the rivets on the handle were not even. It doesn't keep it from working but for the money you spend on these knives they should be perfect. Also the when I got the Migoto series - Kiritsuke knife the blade is not in the center of the handle. It still works but can be a bit challenging depending on where you hold the handle. I sent pictures of all the problems but I am still waiting to hear back from the company about how they would like to handle the problems.

ABYSMAL AVOID

ABYSMAL, AVOID! Ordered on 28th November and STILL no order. The communication is coming from China. This IS NOT a UK company this is a Chinese drop n ship service! Stick is mass produced and shipped from China. I was given a RM tracking on the 6th Dec which STILL states “item being sent to us”! I have to say they have got to be one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with and I have now initiated a charge back on my credit card! All the messages I get are “Thankyou for your kind understanding and patience”!!! My patience has now worn out £175 for excuse after excuse!!!! Reply to their reply: The business owner contacted me last night an offered a FOC gift to remove this review nothing more, STILL leaving me with no item. I have in WRITING these Knives are from China and communication is from Philippines!! RM have not even got my package yet though owner “claims” he has UK stock he can send out but he would “loose out in 2 sets of knives”! Please do not respond pretending to care! It’s been 5 weeks and still not come in from China! Also read the reviews which are the same as mine! And now been blocked from communicating with them!

Date of experience : November 28, 2022

Hi Alex, we certainly don't drop ship our knives, we design our knives in the house and the majority of our stock is held at fulfillment centers. The communication is coming from the UK (Norfolk). The Royal Mail strikes are affecting a number of packages in the Uk due to the strikes. We value you as a customer and want to help further, a customer support member has dropped you an email to follow up, sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, kind regards, Razar.

Razer Blade 14 (2022) review

Good things come in small packages.

Razer Blade 14 gaming laptop on a wooden desk

TechRadar Verdict

A pricey but powerful system squeezed into a slim, lightweight laptop that doesn’t sacrifice durability despite its compact design. The Razer Blade 14 provides seriously good gaming performance at 1080p and 1440p resolutions, with a vibrant 165Hz display and a great selection of physical ports. The small size means the keyboard feels a bit small, but this is undeniably a lovely little laptop that I’m sad I have to send back to Razer.

Great 1440p and 1080p gaming performance

Vivid, colorful display

Very sturdy chassis

Very expensive

Keyboard is a bit cramped

Razer blade 14: two-minute review.

I wish I could recommend the Razer Blade 14 to everyone. It’s long been one of the best gaming laptops around for those who prefer portability over power - although the new 2022 model is certainly not lacking in the latter department. It’s a beautiful little piece of hardware with exceptional build quality, and it truly feels like a joy to use.

So why can’t I always recommend it to anyone hunting for a compact gaming laptop? Well, there are a few small criticisms to make here; the RAM is soldered in place, so you can’t upgrade it further down the line, and the small form factor means that some of the keys are a bit squished together, but the only thing that really stops me from singing its praises to anyone who will listen is the price.

Yes, I shouldn’t be shocked: this is a piece of Razer hardware, and the serpentine hardware brand isn’t exactly known for its budget laptops. But the $2,600 asking price for this Razer Blade 14 still had me blinking in surprise; it’s a significant asking price, even if the product itself is pretty close to perfect.

Still, if you can stump up the cash, this is perhaps the best compact gaming laptop you can buy right now - its only real competition is the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, which is admittedly pretty great, but that’s a slightly more affordable and lower-powered unit when you compare it to this RTX 3070 Ti-equipped Blade 14.

Gaming performance here is unsurprisingly excellent given the internal components, but what really blew me away was how quiet and cool this little unit ran, even while powering through demanding benchmarks and the latest games. I don’t think it’s quite the coolest gaming laptop I’ve ever reviewed, but I was seriously impressed.

Of course, great performance in games is nothing without a good display to play those games on, and the Razer Blade 14 has that too. The screen on this review unit is a 1440p 165Hz panel, which Razer guarantees are individually factory-calibrated. The density of color and sharpness of contrast are incredible, putting many gaming laptops to shame and ensuring that this laptop is a competent tool for content creation work too.

If you want a strong gaming system that you can easily throw in a backpack and take on the go, the Razer Blade 14 is a stellar pick. The above-average battery life further enhances this laptop’s portability, making this one of the best laptops on the market right now.

Razer Blade 14: Price and availability

  • Price range of $2,000 to $3,500
  • Version tested costs $2,600
  • Range of bundles available from Razer - also comes in pink!

Here is the Razer Blade 14 configuration sent to TechRadar for review:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 6900HX Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800 Screen: 14-inch 2560x1440, 165Hz Storage: 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD Ports: 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 2x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, 1x HDMI 2.1, combi audio jack Connectivity: Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 Camera: 1080p IR webcam Weight: 1.78 kg Size: 1.7 x 32.0 x 22.0 cm

At $2,600 (£2,700, AU$4,699), this model of the Razer Blade 14 sits roughly in the middle of the available versions, which span from an RTX 3060 all the way up to a powerhouse RTX 3080 Ti model. Most other components remain the same; the Ryzen 9 6900HX processor and 16GB of DDR5 RAM are ubiquitous, and only the RTX 3060 model has a different display (a 144Hz FHD panel as opposed to the 165Hz QHD one found in our review unit).

It’s not cheap; I ran the numbers, and you can build a desktop PC with comparable components to this Blade 14 for under $1,500 right now - and that’s with the still-inflated pricing of the RTX 3070 Ti. Obviously a laptop is always going to be more expensive than a desktop, but there are plenty of cheaper laptops packing the same GPU from MSI , Asus, and Gigabyte.

There is one key factor though: the Razer Blade 14 is basically the only 14-inch laptop you can buy right now with this GPU, making it officially the most powerful compact gaming machine on the market. If you want high-powered gaming performance in a diminutive frame, this is the best option out there - at least, until other manufacturers catch up.

Razer Blade 14: Design

  • Stylish but robust aluminum chassis
  • Good selection of ports
  • Display is fantastic

I’ll be honest: the 2022 Razer Blade 14 doesn’t really look any different from previous iterations. That’s not a bad thing, though! The Blade chassis has become iconic, a signature look that defines the Razer laptop brand, and for good reason - the design is clean but eye-catching, with little decoration beyond a Razer logo on the lid and a brightly glowing RGB keyboard.

The entire body is cut from machined aluminum and painted black, which means that it’s highly durable (if a bit of a magnet for fingerprints). Holding it in my hands, everything about the Blade 14 screams ‘good build quality’. The screen hinge has very little wobble, and there’s virtually no flex in the keyboard frame at all.

The 14-inch display means that the keyboard doesn’t have much room to breathe, a problem that isn’t helped by the twin speaker grilles on either side of it. The stereo speakers of the Razer Blade 14 are actually pretty good, but their presence means that the keys on the far right and far left of the keyboard are somewhat truncated, which takes a little bit of getting used to - especially if you’ve got big ol’ hands like me.

The trackpad is a different story; a wide, responsive rectangle made with glass for silky-smooth finger travel and a satisfying, weighty click. Every Blade laptop has one of these bad boys now, and they’re always a pleasure to use.

Physical connectivity here is good, with two USB-A and two USB-C ports joined by an HDMI output for connecting a second screen. There’s no Ethernet port, so you’ll be reliant on Wi-Fi here, but that shouldn’t cause any issues for most users. If you open up the chassis, the 1TB SSD can be swapped out but the RAM is soldered in place, so no memory upgrades here.

Lastly, there’s the screen. Oh, the screen; almost every Blade that Razer produces has a damn fine display, and this one is no exception. A 165Hz refresh rate makes it well-suited to esports games where frame rate is the number-one priority, and up to 100% DCI-P3 color reproduction makes it amazing for digital art and photo editing too. It’s a lovely display for a lovely laptop.

Razer Blade 14: Performance

  • Can hit 60+fps at 1440p in most games
  • CPU performance is good and SSD is fast
  • Runs impressively cool and quiet

Here's how the Razer Blade 14 performed in our suite of benchmark tests:

3DMark Night Raid: 44,947; Fire Strike: 10,704; Time Spy: 9,238

Cinebench R20 multi-core: 4,732

GeekBench 5: 1,499 (single-core); 6,985 (multi-core)

PCMark 10 (Modern Office): 6,911

PCMark 10 (Battery life test): 7 hours and 52 minutes

TechRadar Battery Life Test: 8 hours and 21 minutes

Total War: Warhammer III (1440p, Ultra): 48 fps; (1440p, Low): 104 fps

Cyberpunk 2077 (1440p, Ultra): 43 fps; (1440p, Low): 89 fps

Dirt 5 (1440p, Ultra): 62 fps; (1440p, Low): 115 fps

The RTX 3070 Ti GPU at the heart of this laptop doesn’t perform quite as well as its full-fat desktop counterpart, but it’s still an extremely solid choice of graphics card - to the point where we’d argue that the 3080 Ti model of the Razer Blade 14 is a bit redundant given that it doesn’t have a 4K screen.

Gaming at 1440p is great, with many games able to clear 60 frames per second at maxed-out graphical settings. Those that can’t only require some minor adjustments (such as dropping your graphics preset from Ultra to High) to clear the 60fps barrier. This is without using Nvidia DLSS to upscale from 1080p resolution too, so better performance is possible.

Ray-tracing is very much on the table, especially when assisted by DLSS. The Cyberpunk 2077 RTX benchmark cleared 60fps by turning on DLSS at 1440p and dropping the texture detail to Medium, but was still fully playable at Ultra settings.

CPU performance from the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX - currently a popular choice of gaming laptop processor - is good across the board, though it doesn’t quite reach the highs of Intel ’s competing i9-12900H thanks to the latter’s innovative efficiency cores handling background processes while you game. SSD speed is super-fast; games load quickly and internal file transfers take seconds.

What impressed me the most was just how quiet the Blade 14 was while running through our gauntlet of performance tests. Compared to my own Acer Nitro gaming laptop, which can sound like a wind turbine, the dual fans on this Blade made barely more than a gentle whirr throughout.

The keyboard did get a little warm after extended use, but the internal components still ran cooler than much bigger laptops with louder fans, so I don’t know what kind of cooling wizardry Razer is employing here - especially since larger Blade models have historically had some issues with thermal performance. Out of curiosity, I ran the Cinebench R20 benchmark a few extra times off an external hard drive, and the drive disk spinning somehow made more noise than the laptop itself.

  • Performance: 5/5

Razer Blade 14: Battery Life

  • Decent longevity despite the small battery and powerful components
  • Around 8 hours of general use
  • Around 3-4 hours of gaming

Considering that the 61.6Whr battery in the Razer Blade 14 is smaller than those found in many gaming laptops, it did a good job in our battery life tests. Playing a looped video at 50% brightness gave us over eight hours of battery life, which is not bad at all considering how powerful the internal hardware is.

If you’re looking to game on the go, you’ll need to switch off the RGB lighting and dial down the brightness from maximum, but you should be able to squeeze up to 4 hours of game time on a full charge. The included AC adaptor isn’t too bulky and charges the laptop pretty fast, but Razer still insists on using a proprietary charging port, so the Blade 14 loses one point for that.

  • Battery Life: 4/5

Should you buy a Razer Blade 14 (2022)?

Buy it if....

You need a compact but powerful laptop If you want an RTX 3070 or better but don’t want a screen bigger than 14 inches, this might be your best (read: only) option right now. The Razer Blade 14 does a stellar job of cramming high-end performance into a compact chassis.

You like a quiet gaming laptop Despite its mighty components, the Blade 14 is surprisingly quiet, with the fans only ramping up to a mild hum under resource-intensive workloads. It can get a little warm, but never to the point where we’d be worried about performance throttling.

You want to work and game The gorgeous display, decent battery life, and powerhouse internals mean that the latest Blade 14 can easily pull double duty as a content creation platform in addition to its great gaming performance.

Don't buy it if...

You don’t have $2,000+ Ooh, look at me, I’m a Razer laptop, I look great and perform amazingly but I cost so, so much money! That’s what the Blade 14 sounds like when it taunts me in my dreams.

You need a big display Some people simply don’t want to play triple-A games on a 14-inch display, and they’re perfectly entitled to feel that way. Consider the Blade 17, if you can afford an even more ludicrously expensive laptop.

You want a future-proof laptop With new generations of GPU and CPUs on the way, it likely won’t be too long before this Blade 14 is yesterday’s news. You can’t upgrade the RAM, either. It’s still fantastic and should last for years, but this is definitely something you should consider.

Asus TUF Dash F15

If you're looking for a gaming laptop that's a bit more budget-friendly, the Asus TUF Dash F15 is the way to go. It's a bit bulkier and less powerful than the Blade 14, but much cheaper - providing incredible performance for your money.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G15

The Zephyrus G15 is probably the de facto best gaming laptop you can buy right now, with high-quality performance and design at an extremely competitive price. The only thing it lacks is a webcam - no video calls here.

“Old style american diner!” Review of Pretty Betty

Photo of Pretty Betty

This is the brand new restaurant I found in the middle of the city Chelyabinsk. As I have never been in USA, for me - it is real true american restaurant either with very good and quitre cheap burgers, or some mexican food which is also good. I am fond of lemonade there. So anyway it is quite cheap (in compare with Moscow :)) ha-ha) and new. Tasty. The very big plus - cool rock-and-roll music unstoppable. Elvis and Co. :)))) recommend for all!
