Every freedom fighter contributed something unique to make India a lovely country to live in. Here are a few sample essays on ‘Indian Freedom Fighters’.

Essay on Freedom Fighters of India - 100, 200, 500 Words

100 Words Essay On Freedom Fighters

India attained independence on August 15, 1947, as a result of the valiant freedom struggle led by its great warriors. Our freedom fighters contributed to fighting a number of conflicts, movements, battles, and upheavals.

Significant contributions have been made by outstanding liberation fighters like Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Dr Lal Bahadur Shastri, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, and Mahatma Gandhi.

Freedom fighters not only battled to protect their country, but also for everyone who suffered in silence and lost their family, freedom, or even the right to live independently. The people of the country have a great deal of respect for the freedom fighters.

200 Words Essay On Freedom Fighters

India owes its freedom to its valiant freedom fighters. They are the reason why we can take the privilege of celebrating an Independence Day. They were revolutionaries, and some of them employed non-violence as a tool to combat the British. Because of the effort made by our freedom fighters to achieve independence, India finally attained independence on August 15, 1947.

My Favourite Freedom Fighters

Mahatma Gandhi, popularly known as the 'Father of the Nation', is someone I adore dearly and is one of my favourite freedom fighters. He chose the path of non-violence and achieved liberation using just the truth and peace, not any weapons.

Another great freedom fighter was Rani Lakshmi Bai, a strong woman who had a lot to teach by example. Despite facing so many challenges, she battled for the nation. The mother never abandoned her nation for the sake of her kid; rather, she took him to the front lines of the war against injustice.

After a century of revolution, bloodshed, and wars, we were able to take back our freedom from the British. We live in a democratic, independent country because of these outstanding leaders. Numerous freedom fighters struggled to defend the people from British injustice, exploitation, and cruelty. It was their sheer love and dedication for the country and its people that they took India back from the British.

500 Words Essay on Freedom Fighters

Freedom fighters are individuals who dedicate their lives to fighting for the freedom of their people. They are willing to put their own lives on the line in order to bring about change and to stand up for what is right.

Learnings From Freedom Fighters

One of the most important lessons that can be learned from freedom fighters is the importance of standing up for what you believe in. Freedom fighters are not afraid to speak out against injustice and oppression, even when it means putting themselves in harm's way. They show us that it is possible to make a difference in the world, even when the odds are against us.

Another important lesson is the power of perseverance. Freedom fighters are often fighting against powerful and entrenched systems of oppression, and they know that the road to freedom is long and difficult. But they do not give up. They continue to fight, even when the going gets tough, because they know that their cause is just and that freedom is worth fighting for.

Freedom fighters also teach us the importance of empathy and compassion. They understand the suffering of others and they are willing to put themselves in harm's way in order to alleviate that suffering. They show us that it is possible to be selfless and to work for the greater good, even in the face of adversity.

Lastly, freedom fighters remind us of the power of unity. They know that they cannot fight for freedom alone. They rely on the support and solidarity of others in order to achieve their goals. They remind us that when we come together and stand united, we are stronger and more effective in fighting for what is right.

My Experience

I was working as a journalist in a war-torn country when I met a freedom fighter named Ahmed. He was a young man who had dedicated his life to fighting for the freedom of his people. I was immediately drawn to his passion and conviction.

I spent time with Ahmed and his group, learning about their cause and the harsh realities of the war they were fighting. I saw firsthand the atrocities committed by the ruling regime, and the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought against it.

Through Ahmed, I came to understand the true meaning of freedom and the importance of standing up for what is right, even in the face of overwhelming odds. His courage and selflessness inspired me to become more involved in the fight for freedom and to use my platform as a journalist to raise awareness about the struggle.

Meeting Ahmed changed my life in many ways. It opened my eyes to the suffering of others and taught me the power of empathy and compassion. It also made me realise the importance of taking action to make a difference in the world. I will always be grateful for the time I spent with Ahmed and his group, and I will continue to fight for freedom in their honour.

Feature image of Short Essay on Freedom fighters

Freedom is one of the most expected states of living throughout the world for all living beings. Any kind of bondage or forcing anyone to imprisonment is a punishable offence. All have the right to live freely. Similarly, when India lost her independence to the British in 1757 after the battle of Plassey, for the next 200 years India fought for her independence.

It was extremely difficult for the freedom fighters or the brave souls to bring India’s Independence. Freedom fighters of those people who fight for the freedom of their specific nation, and who sacrifice their lives for the same. India is one of the most significant lands where brave freedom fighters are born to save the motherland.

Whether on a small scale or on a large scale, freedom of life is the most desired state for all living beings on Earth. Those who fight for their own freedom are called freedom fighters. They are extremely brave and never scared to sacrifice their life for the greater good. Throughout centuries several parts of the world have experienced the loss of their Independence.

Many countries like India have suffered colonial aggression under a strong power like the British. So for the next 200 years, Indian freedom fighters have constantly fought against the torture of the British Empire.

Be it America or India or African communities, freedom fighters are always those energetic people whose blood has been rewarded by the personalized constitution of every nation. As for India, freedom fighters like Netaji, Gandhi, Surya Sen, Binay-Badal-Dinesh, Khudiram, and others have been duty-bound to bring India freedom.

While Gandhiji worked for the nonviolence method, some revolutionaries fought directly with arms against the British. In both ways, India received her independence. A freedom fighter, hence, is not just using the brain but also constantly fighting against the torture, physically. Today soldiers fighting at the borders are respected as freedom fighters because for getting their own lives they constantly try to keep the country safe and secure.

If any human being is asked about the greatest state of living on the earth, they will consider freedom to be one of those. From a small scale to a bigger region, freedom is the most desired state of all. When a country gets captivated, the citizens of that nation fight for their rights and independence. Those people who fight for their rights and freedom are called freedom fighters.

A freedom fighter is perhaps the most respectable person on this earth. He is much more than a simple human, not because he is fighting for his country. Beyond anything, the fighter forgets about his own family and dedicates his life completely for the sake of the nation. He never gives importance to his own life and binds himself to a single purpose of saving the country.

India is a seat for many such great freedom fighters whom we still remember and pay our respects to. In fact, any country gives extreme importance to the lives of freedom fighters. They are immortal for the sacrifice they make for the country’s well-being. These brave soldiers are bound by their codes of duty and honour and are instructed in different ways to make them able and responsible war figures for the nation.

When the British came to India and colonized the country for almost 200 years, then at several places in the country, freedom fighters waged wars against them. It all started on small scales where the Queen of Jhansi, Tantia Tope, Mangal Pandey, Titumir, and others waged wars against the colonial masters. They made their efforts stronger even as a tribal chief or a specific group of people. But later on with the advent of Gandhian politics in India and the availability of guns, gunpowder, bullets, and other equipment, freedom fighters started developing their skills.

They now used the weapons of the British against them and the country blazed in revolt. After Sepoy Mutiny in 1857, India saw how Bengal became a seat of such brave freedom fighters. Surya Sen, Netaji, Khudiram, Binay-Badal-Dinesh, Pritilata Waddedar, and Matangini Hazra, all became important faces to drive the country to independence. While Gandhi proposed non-violence, simultaneously the freedom fighters continued their actions. Both at two different levels are freedom fighters.

Thus freedom fighters believe in their own strengths and still now whenever a country faces a crisis of independence they jump forward to rescue all. Many are brutally wounded and made impaired for life. The life of the freedom fighters reminds us to maintain peace between nations.

ESSAY ON KNOW YOUR FREEDOM FIGHTERS OF INDIA - 1500 WORDS

ESSAY ON KNOW YOUR FREEDOM FIGHTERS OF INDIA:  Freedom fighters, those indomitable souls who selflessly sacrificed everything for the liberty of their nation, form the bedrock of our country's history. While every country has its share of these heroic figures, India's struggle for freedom produced a multitude of inspiring individuals who fought valiantly to break the shackles of colonial rule. Their unwavering commitment to the cause, their sacrifices, and their determination to secure a brighter future for their fellow citizens leave an indelible mark on the pages of history.

ESSAY ON KNOW YOUR FREEDOM FIGHTERS OF INDIA - 1500 WORDS

ESSAY ON KNOW YOUR FREEDOM FIGHTERS OF INDIA

The importance of these freedom fighters is immeasurable. It is because of their relentless efforts that we celebrate Independence Day with pride and gratitude. Their roles, regardless of scale, remain profoundly significant, serving as a reminder of the immense power that lies within a united populace fighting for justice. These courageous men and women faced unimaginable hardships, bore immeasurable pain, and many paid the ultimate price – their lives – to pave the way for the freedom we enjoy today.

For some freedom fighters, armed resistance was the path they chose, waging war against their oppressors to safeguard the precious freedom of their people. Their lack of formal military training did not deter them; it was their unwavering determination and the pure intention of liberating their homeland that fueled their resolve. Many of these brave souls became martyrs on the battlefield, leaving behind a legacy of bravery, sacrifice, and the unquenchable thirst for liberty.

Yet, the influence of freedom fighters transcends the battlefield. They served as beacons of hope, igniting the flame of resistance and inspiring countless others to join the fight against injustice. These remarkable individuals played a pivotal role in raising awareness about the rights and power of the people, empowering citizens to stand up against tyranny and, ensuring that their voices were heard.

Reflecting on the bravery of these heroes, several names stand out as sources of inspiration. Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the Indian nation, advocated for non-violence, using truth and peace as his weapons in the struggle for freedom. Rani Lakshmi Bai, the fearless warrior queen, defied all odds, leading her troops into battle and proving that a mother's commitment to her country can outweigh any adversity.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, a charismatic leader, rallied the Indian National Army, showcasing the might of India to the British and proclaiming, "Give me your blood, and I will give you freedom." Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, hailing from a privileged background, sacrificed personal comfort to fight for India's freedom, becoming an enduring inspiration.

But the list of freedom fighters doesn't end there. Many more contributed significantly to the cause of India's independence. Bhagat Singh, the symbol of martyrdom, fearlessly challenged  British rule with his revolutionary actions. Sarojini Naidu, the "Nightingale of India," was a tireless advocate for freedom and women's rights. Chandrasekhar Azad, a fierce revolutionary, stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Bhagat Singh. Lala Lajpat Rai, known as "Punjab Kesari," led various movements against the British, Subramania Bharati used his pen to ignite patriotism, Birsa Munda fought for tribal rights, Rajendra Prasad played a crucial role in various movements, and Bhikaji Cama made India's presence felt on the global stage.

These diverse freedom fighters, each with their unique contributions, remind us that the struggle for freedom was a collective effort, encompassing leaders from different backgrounds and regions, all bound by a common purpose – to free their motherland from the clutches of oppression. As we celebrate their legacy, it's essential to reflect on their values and aspirations. In today's world, where divisions occasionally overshadow our shared identity, it becomes even more crucial to unite, transcend communal differences, and work together to realize the dreams of these freedom fighters. Only then can we truly honor their sacrifices and preserve their memory for future generations.

India got its freedom after a long and hard fight. A lot of people fought for freedom. Most of the time, we think that only Gandhi, Nehru, Subhas Chandra Bose, and maybe someone else fought for freedom. But there are some freedom fighters who aren’t known because they have vanished from history.

PEER ALI KHAN

He was one of the first Indian rebels. Khan took part in the fight for freedom in 1857. He was one of 14 people who were put to death for their part in the movement. Even so, his work influenced a lot of people who came after him. But after many years, people forgot about him.

In this group, she was given the rank of Captain.

Independence or freedom didn’t come to us on a platter but was earned by our great freedom fighters with their sacrifices, pain, and devotion. Our freedom fighters envisioned a free India and decided to take the responsibility of having a free nation where one could live and enjoy without being subjected to Britishers. Freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, Sardar Patel, Bhagat Singh, Mangal Pandey and more were unhappy with how Indians were treated by the British. They decided to revolt against the imperialist rule and fought against them to see a free India. Some of our freedom fighters, including Mahatma Gandhi, strongly believed in the strength of not using weapons. They laid their lives for the freedom of our country by protecting their ideology of non-violence and non-cooperation. The struggle was long and involved a lot of sacrifices. But it paid off in the end, and finally, on August 15 1947, the British decided to declare India an independent nation. Since then, we have been enjoying this freedom and become a force to reckon with in the world. Introduction

There have been 200 years of British rule in India. Many people gave their lives during that time, and there were many wars. As a result of their efforts, we got freedom in 1947 and we remember all the martyrs who sacrificed themselves in the name of freedom. India gate has a monument that includes the names of these people, such as Ahmad Ullah Shah, Mangal Pandey, Vallabh Bhai Patel, Bhagat Singh, Aruna Asaf Ali, and Subhash Chandra Bose. He played a leading role in the freedom war, as well as being the most active participant. These leaders are all remembered with deep respect by all of us.

150 Words Essay on Freedom Fighters And Struggle

The most significant development in Indian history was the fight for independence. In order to achieve independence for their country, the freedom fighters sacrificed their lives selflessly.

With the intention of trading tea, silk, and cotton, the British invaded India in 1600. They gradually ruled the land and created chaos, forcing people into slavery. In 1857, the first movement against the British was launched as India gained independence from British rule.

The Non-Cooperation Movement was launched by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920 in order to awaken the Indian Independence Movement. Bhagat Singh, Rajuguru, and Chandra Shekhar Azad were among the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives.

In 1943, the Indian National Army was created in order to drive out the British. After an agreement was reached, the British decided to leave India on August 15, 1947, and the country gained independence.

200 Words Essay on Freedom Fighters And Struggle

There is so much weave on our flank that recalls the history of the freedom struggle and the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. We live in a democratic and independent country due to the freedom fighters who gave their lives for freedom.

The British exploited and cruelly abused the people they fought for. The British ruled India until 1947 when it gained independence. Our country was heavily influenced by the British before 1947.

Some of the regions of India were also under the control of other foreign countries, such as the Portuguese and French. We did not have an easy time fighting and exiling foreign rulers from our country. Numerous people have raised the issue of the national movement. Independence was a long-term struggle.

Getting India’s independence was a big accomplishment thanks to India’s freedom fighters. With the first war of independence in 1857, the freedom movement began against British rule. This revolt was initiated by both Hindus and Muslims.

The Indian revolt against the British was initiated by Mangal Panday, who has been hailed as a hero in modern India. After the Indian national congress was founded in 1885, freedom movements intensified in our country.

Many people in our nation were inspired by the Indian national congress leaders. Many nationalists looked up to them as role models. The nation had been conquered by thousands of freedom fighters and thousands had sacrificed their lives for it. Our independence was eventually granted by the British, French, and Portuguese, who eventually granted us independence on August 15, 1947.

Freedom fighters made it possible for us to achieve independence. The Indian people are still inspired by their contributions to the freedom struggle despite the differences in their ideologies.

500 Words Essay on Freedom Fighters And Struggle

An individual’s freedom is dependent upon the freedom of his or her country. A freedom fighter is an individual who selflessly sacrifices themselves so that their country and countrymen can live in freedom. The bravest hearts in every country will put their lives on the line for their countrymen.

In addition to fighting for their country, freedom fighters fought for all those who suffered silently, lost their families, lost their freedom, and even their right to live. Their patriotism and love for their country make the people of the country esteem the freedom fighters. By following their example, other citizens can aspire to live a good life.

The sacrifice of one’s life for one’s country may seem unimaginable to ordinary people, but to freedom fighters, it is unimaginable without considering any negative repercussions. To achieve their goal, they must endure severe pain and hardship. They forever owe the entire national debt of gratitude.

essay on know your freedom fighters 1500 words

Those who fought for freedom cannot be overstated in their importance. Every year, the country celebrates Independence Day to honor the thousands of people who once struggled for freedom for their countrymen. Their countrymen will never forget their sacrifices.

As we examine the history, we find most freedom fighters did not possess formal war or related training prior to joining the freedom struggle. Their participation in wars and protests was accompanied by the knowledge that they might be killed by the opposing force.

It wasn’t just the armed resistance against the tyrants that made the freedom fighters. The protesters contributed money, they were legal advocates, they participated in the freedom struggle through literature, etc. Foreign powers were fought by the bravest soldiers. By pointing out social injustice and crimes committed by the powerful, they made their fellow citizens realize their rights.

It was in this capacity that freedom fighters inspired others to become aware of their rights and to seek justice against those in power. In this capacity, they left a lasting impact on society. They influenced others to join their struggle.

The freedom fighters were responsible for unifying the countrymen in a sentiment of nationalism and patriotism. The freedom struggle would not have been successful without freedom fighters. In a free country, we can prosper because of them.

600 Words Essay on Freedom Fighters And Struggle

A freedom fighter is an individual who has fought for the country against a common enemy. During the British invasion of India in the 1700s, they fought the enemies who had taken over the country. There was either a peaceful protest or a physical protest by each fighter.

Many brave people who fought for India’s independence have been named, such as Bhagat Singh, Tantia Tope, Nana Sahib, Subhash Chandra Bose, and countless others. The foundation of India’s freedom and democracy was laid by Mahatma Gandhi, Jawhar Lal Nehru, and B.R. Ambedkar.

It took a long time and a lot of effort to achieve freedom. Mahatma Gandhi said to be the father of our nation, worked for the abolition of untouchability, the end of poverty, and the establishment of Swaraj (self-rule), putting global pressure on the British. Indian freedom struggle began in 1857 with Rani Laxmibai.

Her death by the British was tragic, but she came to symbolize women’s empowerment and patriotism. Generations to come will be inspired by such courageous symbols. History does not record the names of the endless number of unnamed martyrs who served the nation.

To pay homage to someone means to show them deep respect and honor. In honor of those who sacrificed their lives while serving their nation, a day has been set aside called “Martyr’s Day”. Every year, it is celebrated on the 30th of January to honor the brave martyrs who died in the line of duty.

Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated on Martyr’s Day by Nathuram Godse. To honor the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country, we observe a minute of silence on that day.

The country has erected numerous statues honoring monumental figures, and many roads, towns, stadiums, and airports are named after them. My visit to Port Blair took me to the British-operated Cellular Jail where anyone who questioned their methods was imprisoned.

There were many independent activists held in the jail, including Batukeshwar Dutt and Babarao Savarkar. These brave people are now displayed in a museum in the jail that once housed them. As a result of the British exiling them from India, most of the inmates died there.

India is filled with museums named after freedom fighters, including the Nehru Planetarium and another educational museum dedicated to education. Their contribution to the country will be less affected by all of these gestures. Their selfless service allowed us to see a better tomorrow because of their blood, sweat, and tears.

All over India, kites are flown on Independence Day. On that day, we are all united as Indians. As a symbol of peace for freedom fighters, I light diyas. As our defense forces protect our borders, they continue to lose lives. Whether it is by protecting their nation or working for it, it is every citizen’s duty to serve their nation.

Our freedom fighter ancestors fought never-ending battles to give us a free land to live, work, and eat in. I promise to respect their choices. It is India that has sheltered me and will continue to do so for the rest of my days. I will consider that the greatest honor of my life.

Our country is free because of freedom fighters. To live together harmoniously and peacefully and to ensure social justice, we must honor their sacrifices.

Freedom fighters’ stories inspire today’s youth. Throughout their lives, they have fought for and believed in values that demonstrate their difference in life. We as citizens of India should respect and honor the sacrifice by creating a peaceful environment in the country
