• Are the unlimited minutes really unlimited? Yes, they are unlimited. However, please note that unlimited minutes are applicable to specific plans such as: AED 325, AED 600 and AED 900 plans.
• What type of calls can I make with the unlimited national minutes? Unlimited national minutes are valid for calls within the UAE only (to fixed or mobile lines). They are not applicable to roaming.
• What type of calls can I make with the unlimited international minutes? Unlimited international minutes can be used for international outgoing calls, from the UAE for the covered destinations. They are not applicable for roaming.
• What destinations can I call with my unlimited international minutes? For BMP 600 and BMP 900 plans, you can use the IDD minutes from the unlimited plans to call any of the 165 destinations in annexure 1. For all other plans, international minutes are applicable to the top 190 destinations. Visit du.ae/idd for the complete list of destinations.
• As an eligible customer, you can choose to subscribe to the plans with either a 12-month contract or without a contract.
• For plans with a 12-month contract, if you cancel before the contract ends, you will be charged a foreclosure fee (one monthly charge of your subscribed plan).
• For plans without a contract, no foreclosure fee will be charged.
• Do all the plans come with an Internet Calling Pack? All plans above AED 200 will include a free Internet Calling subscription.
• Roaming benefits are inclusive only on the AED 900 plan. For all other plans, you are required to subscribe to the roaming service and data or voice bundles.
• Roaming minutes and data benefits can be used in our preferred countries and our roaming partner networks. Visit du.ae/preferredcountries for the full list.
• Bundles with incoming minutes only cover roaming-call-forward charges. Inter operator termination charges [IOT] are not covered
• Incoming and outgoing cover both incoming (roaming-call-forward charges) and outgoing calls. Inter operator termination charges [IOT] are not covered.
• After consuming your plan’s roaming minutes, if any, incoming calls, outgoing calls and data are all charged as per standard rates or Easy Roaming rates, if your Easy Roaming service is active.
• Roaming minutes’ packages are not built on real-time billing; hence consumption of the benefits cannot be tracked and there will be no usage notification, including on full consumption.
• Roaming usage does not include Lebanon and in-flight operators.
• There are some LTE handsets designed to send and receive minor data sessions, even though the mobile data feature is turned off. To avoid these excess data charges, either buy a roaming data bundle or change your device’s network from LTE to 3G
• Non-preferred networks will have standard tariff set out on our website at du.ae/businessroaming . Please select the country from the dropdown list to check the applicable rates.
• We may, at a discretion and without notice, remove or modify any preferred roaming countries and operators. We recommend that, prior to travel, you check the current list on du.ae/businessroaming so you are fully aware on which countries we have roaming partners in and who those operators are.
• What is the charging method? All in-bundle and out-of-bundle charges will be per minute.

• Can I subscribe to device offers with the Business Mobile Plans? Yes, our device instalment offers are available on top of the Business Mobile Plans. Please contact our sales channels for the latest offers on devices.
• Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan within the Business Mobile Plans? You can upgrade to a higher rate plan without any foreclosure fees. However, you have to pay the foreclosure fee for the downgrade.
• Will I still be charged the full monthly fee if my line got suspended within my contract? Yes. Since the plans are associated with a Minimum Term, you will be charged the monthly recurring fee during the suspension.
• What happens after the Minimum Term is complete? You will continue to enjoy your Business Mobile Plan benefits. If you choose to cancel your line after the end of your Minimum Term, no termination fee will apply on your plan. However, if you still have other active contracts such as a device that has not completed its Minimum Term, then a fee will apply.
• Can I still get one of the Business Mobile Plans, if I am an existing Business mobile customer? Yes.
• What is the activation fee? A fee of AED 55 is applicable for the activation of your SIM card.

Before you start exploring our library of business plan examples, it's worth taking the time to understand the traditional business plan format . You'll find that the plans in this library and most investor-approved business plans will include the following sections:

Executive summary

The executive summary is an overview of your business and your plans. It comes first in your plan and is ideally only one to two pages. You should also plan to write this section last after you've written your full business plan.

Your executive summary should include a summary of the problem you are solving, a description of your product or service, an overview of your target market, a brief description of your team, a summary of your financials, and your funding requirements (if you are raising money).

Products & services

The products & services chapter of your business plan is where the real meat of your plan lives. It includes information about the problem that you're solving, your solution, and any traction that proves that it truly meets the need you identified.

This is your chance to explain why you're in business and that people care about what you offer. It needs to go beyond a simple product or service description and get to the heart of why your business works and benefits your customers.

Market analysis

Conducting a market analysis ensures that you fully understand the market that you're entering and who you'll be selling to. This section is where you will showcase all of the information about your potential customers. You'll cover your target market as well as information about the growth of your market and your industry. Focus on outlining why the market you're entering is viable and creating a realistic persona for your ideal customer base.

Competition

Part of defining your opportunity is determining what your competitive advantage may be. To do this effectively you need to get to know your competitors just as well as your target customers. Every business will have competition, if you don't then you're either in a very young industry or there's a good reason no one is pursuing this specific venture.

To succeed, you want to be sure you know who your competitors are, how they operate, necessary financial benchmarks, and how you're business will be positioned. Start by identifying who your competitors are or will be during your market research. Then leverage competitive analysis tools like the competitive matrix and positioning map to solidify where your business stands in relation to the competition.

Marketing & sales

The marketing and sales plan section of your business plan details how you plan to reach your target market segments. You'll address how you plan on selling to those target markets, what your pricing plan is, and what types of activities and partnerships you need to make your business a success.

The operations section covers the day-to-day workflows for your business to deliver your product or service. What's included here fully depends on the type of business. Typically you can expect to add details on your business location, sourcing and fulfillment, use of technology, and any partnerships or agreements that are in place.

Milestones & metrics

The milestones section is where you lay out strategic milestones to reach your business goals.

A good milestone clearly lays out the parameters of the task at hand and sets expectations for its execution. You'll want to include a description of the task, a proposed due date, who is responsible, and eventually a budget that's attached. You don't need extensive project planning in this section, just key milestones that you want to hit and when you plan to hit them.

You should also discuss key metrics, which are the numbers you will track to determine your success. Some common data points worth tracking include conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, profit, etc.

Company & team

Use this section to describe your current team and who you need to hire. If you intend to pursue funding, you'll need to highlight the relevant experience of your team members. Basically, this is where you prove that this is the right team to successfully start and grow the business. You will also need to provide a quick overview of your legal structure and history if you're already up and running.

Financial projections

Your financial plan should include a sales and revenue forecast, profit and loss statement, cash flow statement, and a balance sheet. You may not have established financials of any kind at this stage. Not to worry, rather than getting all of the details ironed out, focus on making projections and strategic forecasts for your business. You can always update your financial statements as you begin operations and start bringing in actual accounting data.

Now, if you intend to pitch to investors or submit a loan application, you'll also need a "use of funds" report in this section. This outlines how you intend to leverage any funding for your business and how much you're looking to acquire. Like the rest of your financials, this can always be updated later on.

The appendix isn't a required element of your business plan. However, it is a useful place to add any charts, tables, definitions, legal notes, or other critical information that supports your plan. These are often lengthier or out-of-place information that simply didn't work naturally into the structure of your plan. You'll notice that in these business plan examples, the appendix mainly includes extended financial statements.

Types of business plans explained

While all business plans cover similar categories, the style and function fully depend on how you intend to use your plan. To get the most out of your plan, it's best to find a format that suits your needs. Here are a few common business plan types worth considering.

Traditional business plan

The tried-and-true traditional business plan is a formal document meant to be used for external purposes. Typically this is the type of plan you'll need when applying for funding or pitching to investors. It can also be used when training or hiring employees, working with vendors, or in any other situation where the full details of your business must be understood by another individual.

Business model canvas

The business model canvas is a one-page template designed to demystify the business planning process. It removes the need for a traditional, copy-heavy business plan, in favor of a single-page outline that can help you and outside parties better explore your business idea.

The structure ditches a linear format in favor of a cell-based template. It encourages you to build connections between every element of your business. It's faster to write out and update, and much easier for you, your team, and anyone else to visualize your business operations.

One-page business plan

The true middle ground between the business model canvas and a traditional business plan is the one-page business plan . This format is a simplified version of the traditional plan that focuses on the core aspects of your business.

By starting with a one-page plan , you give yourself a minimal document to build from. You'll typically stick with bullet points and single sentences making it much easier to elaborate or expand sections into a longer-form business plan.

Growth planning

Growth planning is more than a specific type of business plan. It's a methodology. It takes the simplicity and styling of the one-page business plan and turns it into a process for you to continuously plan, forecast, review, and refine based on your performance.

It holds all of the benefits of the single-page plan, including the potential to complete it in as little as 27 minutes . However, it's even easier to convert into a more detailed plan thanks to how heavily it's tied to your financials. The overall goal of growth planning isn't to just produce documents that you use once and shelve. Instead, the growth planning process helps you build a healthier company that thrives in times of growth and remain stable through times of crisis.

It's faster, keeps your plan concise, and ensures that your plan is always up-to-date.

Du has announced the launch of its newest communications solution for both large and small and medium enterprises customers, the business plan, a data-centric plan designed to give businessmen the connectivity they need, which includes free data units, bundled flexible minutes and free calls, available in four denominations., by staff report.

“The Business Plan brings even more data benefits to customers than any other available plan in the market, making it the best choice for any businessman who is a heavy data user,” du chief commercial officer Fahad Al Hassawi said.

Customers can choose to subscribe to The Business Plan 150, 300, 600 or 1,000, depending on their data consumption and budget requirements. The Business Plan comes with free data units ranging from 2GB upto 25GB, flexible minutes to be used for national or international voice calls, unlimited calls to other The Business Plan customers at just 10 fils per minute, up to 100 per cent free calls within the customer’s specified closed user group, and a flat rate for international calls to 175 destinations.

“We developed this plan after carefully studying the needs and usage trends of our business customers. Communications trends have changed drastically with the prevalence of data-hungry smart devices... there is a definite need for plans that offer more data benefits, as well as the best value on minutes and calling rates,” Al Hassawi said.

Course Plans

Course plans provide a suggested sequence of classes for each term. Many arts and humanities, b usiness, engineering,  international studies ,  natural sciences and mathematics, music, and social sciences students  will find course plans for majors and degrees in the same section listing program of study requirements for those curricula. Plans in those areas address course sequencing and requirements specific to those programs of study.

Students pursuing other bachelor of arts majors and students who have yet to declare a major have the freedom to explore and discover academic interests and construct a highly-personalized curriculum. Ideally,  Common Curriculum requirements other than Advanced Seminar should be completed during the first two years. Students should also anticipate taking an average course load of 16 credits each quarter in order to complete the requirements to graduate in four years.

Ways of Knowing courses in the areas of Analytical Inquiry: Society and Culture and Scientific Inquiry: Society and Culture introduce students to University-level study of disciplines in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Credits earned in Ways of Knowing courses may also apply to a major or minor. 

Students considering but who have yet to declare majors in business should plan on fulfilling the Analytical Inquiry: Natural and Physical World requirement through either MATH 1200 Calculus for Business and Social Sciences or MATH 1951 Calculus I . Students considering but who have yet to declare a major in the natural sciences should select MATH 1951 Calculus I to fulfill the requirement. Similarly, students considering majors in the natural sciences will fulfill the Scientific Inquiry: Natural Physical World requirement through the sequence of courses in that requirement intended for students majoring in natural science or engineering. 

The sample course plans below show what courses a student pursuing a bachelor of arts might take in their first two years; beyond that, students should anticipate working closely with their major advisor to create a course of study to complete the degree.

CNP 1200 is offered in fall, winter and spring quarters and is recommended for students have not declared a major. 

INTZ 2501 is required for any student who studies abroad, and may be taken in any quarter within the year prior to studying abroad.

Starting the week of  July 8th , you will have opportunities to participate in group advising in addition to individual meetings with an Academic Advisor.

You can begin preparing for registration by reviewing the Undergraduate Bulletin . The Bulletin will serve as your roadmap toward your degree throughout your time DU.

• Decided on a major? Use the course plan tab under that major that will provide guidance on what courses to take each quarter to keep you on track.
• Still exploring majors? You can consult the bulletin for some guidance on different degree options and what to take if you’re keeping your options open.

Most of our majors offer a lot of flexibility in autumn quarter courses. Students pursuing a major in Natural Sciences & Mathematics  or  Engineering will need to make sure they are taking specific courses during their first quarter to meet prerequisites and specific course sequence during subsequent terms. All students will benefit from putting together and following a course plan.

Sample Course Plans

• This drop down menu will help you navigate the  Undergraduate Bulletin  so that you can see potential course plans.
• A typical schedule consists of four 4 credit courses, totaling 16 credits. For first-year students, one of these courses will be your required First-Year Seminar (FSEM).
• Most of our degrees offer a lot of flexibility in Autumn quarter courses. However, if you are considering a major in  Natural Sciences & Mathematics  or  Engineering , please be sure to take the appropriate math or engineering courses as described in the course plan.

Students who plan to continue studying a language must take the placement exam prior to July 1. If students do not complete and submit a placement test for a previously studied language by July 1, results may not be processed in time for summer registration. This may prevent students from registering for their preferred language class until the beginning of the fall quarter. Students who plan to begin studying a new language at DU do not need to take a placement exam and should register for the 1001 level. Please visit the  Center for World Languages & Cultures website  for the most up-to-date information. 

The math advising tool is for all incoming students. Depending on their intended major, transferred math courses and other considerations, the math advising tool will indicate which math course, if any, is required. If MATH 1200 Calculus for Business and Social Sciences or MATH 1951 Calculus I is required, the math advising tool will administer a math proficiency survey (approximately 45 minutes and 20 algebra questions) to test the level of preparation for these courses – the score will be recorded and students will receive a recommendation concerning math courses by email in early July. In order to ensure that you can register for the appropriate math class during New Student Registration in late July, the deadline to complete the  Math Advising Tool  is July 1.

Are there any required classes in the fall?

Your first step in completing the leadership minor is to take the fall PLP seminar: LDRS 2017, “Inclusive Leadership.”  This is a two-credit course. Meeting Dates and times for Fall quarter will be announced soon!

To be in the PLP community you  must  take this class. You can register for one of the sections of this class with your other courses during your assigned registration time. Section ___ of LDRS 2017 is reserved for CWC Scholars only. You will learn more about the course and your instructors at PLP orientation.

What other classes do I need to take this year with PLP?

Students will take the following courses during their first year in PLP.

• LDRS 2019 Teaming for Social Impact, Winter 2025, 2 credits
• LDRS 2021  Leadership and Social Movements, Spring 2025, 2 credits

How do I earn electives?

Six (6) additional credits at the 2000 level or above are required for the completion of the minor. These can come from a combination of elective courses, internships, and/or independent studies that are meant to focus your minor towards your career and community leadership interests.  Click  here  for a sample of PLP approved elective courses.

Puksta Scholars are required to enroll in one two-credit course for each academic quarter their first year. The courses are as follows:

• Fall Quarter: CENG 2510 - Denver Urban Issues and Policy 
• Winter Quarter: CENG 2520: Community Organizing 
• Spring Quarter: CENG 2590: From Public Good Theory to Action 

Students register for AROTC (Army ROTC) classes listed as RTC1 course through regular DU registration, though they are taught on other campuses in the Denver metro area and follow the semester calendar. Classes may be taken at the University of Colorado Boulder (UCB), Colorado School of Mines in Golden (Mines), or Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSUD) on the Auraria campus in downtown Denver.

RTC1 courses are available for variable credit. You can select 1-3 credits. Choose the credit amount and section that best fits your quarterly schedule.

You also must register for RTC1 3090.

• Students register for AFROTC (Air Force ROTC) classes listed as RTC2 through regular DU registration, though they are taught on the CU-Boulder campus and follow the CU semester calendar.
• RTC2 1010 courses are available for variable credit. You can select 0-1.5 credits. Choose the credit amount and schedule that best fits your quarterly schedule.
• You also must register for RTC2 1234.

25 million student-loan borrowers could get up to $20,000 in debt wiped out under Biden's new debt relief plan

• If implemented as proposed, the full plan is expected to benefit over 30 million borrowers.

President Joe Biden's new plan for student-loan forgiveness would tackle a key issue for many borrowers: surging interest .

On Monday, Biden's administration unveiled new details for its second attempt at student-loan forgiveness after the Supreme Court struck its first plan down . This new plan would benefit over 30 million student-loan borrowers, according to the White House, while canceling the full balances of about 4 million borrowers if implemented as proposed.

And one of the largest components of the plan addresses the unpaid interest that can build onto a borrower's balance, making it difficult for them to even touch the original amount they borrowed. According to the administration, this plan would cancel up to $20,000 in unpaid interest for 25 million borrowers, with 23 million of them "likely to have all of their balance growth forgiven," per the White House fact sheet .

"Now there's an end to the nightmare of working hard, making loan payments, and still watching your loan balances get bigger and bigger month after month," Education Secretary Miguel Cardona told reporters on a Sunday press call. "And we're proud to announce what we're announcing today."

According to the White House, this interest provision would apply to any borrower, regardless of income. Low and middle-income borrowers enrolled in an income-driven repayment plan would be eligible for cancellation of the entire amount their balance has grown since entering repayment — that group includes single borrowers who earn $120,000 or less and married borrowers who earn $240,000 or less.

A senior administration official told reporters on the press call that while the interest relief would be a one-time action, borrowers would continue to benefit from provisions in the SAVE income-driven repayment plan , including the plan's prevention of interest capitalization that will go into effect in July.

Along with the interest relief, the plan proposed debt relief for borrowers who would be eligible for forgiveness through a repayment program, like Public Service Loan Forgiveness, but have not yet enrolled. It would also cancel student debt for borrowers who first entered repayment at least 20 years ago, and it would work to identify relief avenues for borrowers facing financial hardship .

The proposed text for these rules will be released in the coming months, according to senior administration officials, after which there will be an opportunity for public comment. The plan could go into effect as early as this fall.

To be sure, these proposals are still subject to change — and they could also encounter legal challenges from conservative groups. Top Republican on the Senate education committee Bill Cassidy said in a Monday statement that the proposed relief is "an unfair ploy to buy votes before an election and does absolutely nothing to address the high cost of education that puts young people right back into debt." 

Still, administration officials said they believe the proposal is consistent with the Supreme Court's decision, and they're confident in the legal authority for implementation. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said in a Monday statement that "Democrats will continue to be relentless in doing everything we can to lower costs and make college more affordable."

"After the MAGA Supreme Court struck down the most far-reaching student loan debt forgiveness last year and ripped away a financial lifeline from those who need it most, this new action by President Biden shows Democrats are committed to fixing the Federal student loan program so that higher education can finally be a ticket to the middle class for everyone," Schumer said.
