GETFund Scholarship Portal – Scholarships.getfund.gov.gh

The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) is a public trust set up by an Act of Parliament in the year 2000.

Its core mandate is to provide funding to supplement government efforts for the provision of educational infrastructure and facilities within the public sector from the pre-tertiary to the tertiary level.

The Government sees the release of GETFund. And the Ghana stock exchange secretariat stands to receive it. Furthermore, they later oversee redistribution. This is to help students who need it the most.

GETFund scholarships support students in various tertiary institutions across the country. This is by paying their tuition fees, and also by supplementing the education sector with educational resources.

Level/Field of Study of the Scholarship

GETFund Scholarship is available for PhD, Masters and Undergraduate students. This is to help them pursue a degree with sound mind. Also, this could be in any field of study; Science, Technology and Mathematics(STEM) and Humanities Programs.

GETFund also sponsors foreign Master’s and Undergraduate STEM programs. PhD Candidates pursuing degrees in foreign universities are not eligible.

All applicants are advised to use the GETFund Online Application Portal to create an account and apply for the scholarship.

Kindly note that GETFund Scholarships are now applied online.

Please note that all correspondence will be done exclusively between the GETFund and the scholarship applicants.

Please be advised that scholarships received only via the online application shall be processed.

GETFund Scholarships Eligibility

Every Ghanaian who holds a first degree is eligible to apply.

However, all prospective applicants/ students would be expected to meet other basic requirements to be considered for the Ghana Education Trust Fund Scholarships.

How to Apply for GETFund Scholarship In Ghana

Other requirements for the GETFund scholarship in Ghana for 2021 are:

All applicants are required to create a user account and complete their application form via the GETFund Scholarship Portal.
Scanned copy of proof of Nationality (Copy of Passport / National I.D Card).
Scanned copy of admission letter clearly stating the program duration in it.
Scanned copy of approved Fee Schedule (2021/22 Academic Year).
Scanned copy of 1st degree certificate (Masters and PhD applicants only).
Scanned copy of other degree certificate (PhD applicants only).
Scanned copy of previous transcript (Masters and PhD applicants only).
Scanned copy of National Service Certificate where applicable (Masters and PhD applicants only).
Copy of Curriculum Vitae (Masters and PhD applicants only).

Note that, the selection process is rigorous, and the scholarship is competitive, hence provide all the necessary details as required and follow laid down processes to stand a better chance of selection.

The first thing to know before knowing how to apply for the GETFund Scholarshi p is to be aware of the dates they open and close for applications.

The GETFund Scholarship is currently closed for Local Postgraduate Applicants.

GETFund Undergraduate Scholarship Application Form

The GETFund Undergraduate Scholarship has been opened for eligible Ghanaian students pursuing undergraduate studies at any of the public tertiary institution in Ghana.

The Ghana Education Trust Fund ( GETFund ) is currently accepting applications for Undergraduate scholarships for the current Academic year. The effective opening date for applications is Wednesday, 20th January and closing date for applications is 5:00pm Wednesday, 10th February. Link to the Official release is attached below this page.

About GETFund Undergraduate Scholarship

Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) is a Ghana government initiative to sponsor the education of Ghanaian students to study both locally and abroad for either their, Undergraduate degree.

The GETFund initiative was established by a law of Parliament, to support the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat with extra funding to help students who receives a scholarship. GETFund also supply educational institutions with educational resources.

GETFund Undergraduate Scholarship Application Requirements

Interested applicants must present the following documents

Application letter (Declaring intents, which must include their contact details)
Proof of Nationality (Copy of Passport / Copy of National I.D Card/ Copy of Birth Certificate )
Copy of Admission letter; Stating the program duration
Fees Schedule (2020/2021 Academic Year)

GETFund Undergraduate Scholarship Application Form: How To Apply

Applicants for the GETFund Undergraduate scholarship should ensure they meet the aforementioned requirements.
Then submit the following documents Application letter ( Declaring intents ), Proof of Nationality, Copy of Admission letter, Fees Schedule.
GETFund scholarship applications are to be submitted manually in person to the reception of any GETFund office near you.
All correspondence will be done exclusively between the GETFund and you the scholarship applicant.
Please be advised that scholarship applications shall be received at the GETFund reception ONLY for processing.
