Revenant Episode 7 Recap and Ending Explained: How Does Kim Woo Jin Know About Choi Man Wol?

Revenant Episode 7 Recap and Ending Explained

Disney+ Hotstar’s latest Korean drama addition, Revenant , enters its second half with a bang.

The story revolves around Gu San Yeong ( Kim Tae Ri ), a woman possessed by an evil spirit, and Yeom Hae Sang ( Oh Jung Se ), a professor of folklore who can see spirits, as they uncover the secrets behind the mysterious deaths surrounding the spirit.

San Yeong’s trust in Hae Sang is paper thin, which leads to the creation of a connection with Lee Hong Sae. More is revealed about the background of the evil spirit as San Yeong investigates Woo Jin.

Hae Sang also makes revelations of his own that send him spiralling down a dangerous path.

The drama has depictions of suicide, and viewers’ discretion is advised.

Revenant Episode 7 Recap: How is Yeom Family Connected to Choi Man Wol?

Woo Jin reveals to San Yeong that he knows the name of the person who created the evil spirit. But he wonders whether she, not sure if he’s referring to San Yeong or the loose-haired spirit that possesses her, would leave Hae Sang alone if he revealed it.

Woo Jin tells San Yeong to keep it a secret from Hae Sang and tells her to look for the woman named Choi Man Wol. But he disappears before she can ask him to elaborate, sending her into a frenzy.

While San Yeong is searching for Woo Jin in the house with her handy mirror, she stumbles upon a whiteboard in Hae Sang’s Gang Mo room. Hae Sang noted the baessi daenggi , the traditional hair accessory, and the piece of blue earthenware.

San Yeong also spots the aforementioned items on a side table in the room. She touches the piece of blue earthenware to see what it is, and, just like when she first touched the baessi daenggi , she sees a vision—a memory associated with the item.

A person, most likely Lee Mok Dan, is covered in a blue cloth. A mysterious hand, probably the shaman from Jangjin-ri, lands a blow, possibly killing the person. Panting, San Yeong disconnects herself from the item.

Hae Sang asks the shaman who made the Line of Probation how his mother knew Gu Gang Mo, as the two had been there together to commission five Lines of Probation. She reveals that they met coincidentally while conducting a local survey.

Curious, Hae Sang probes for more information from the shaman. She reveals that they had asked her to chant a sutra for Yeom Hae Jin, the child who had died in Hae Sang’s mother’s womb. It was a failsafe in case something befell her and no one who could hold a memorial service for the child remained.

Revenant Episode 7 Recap

Meanwhile, Mun Chun is still at the storage facility of the Gwangcheon precinct, looking for any overlooked clues. He stumbles upon records from 1958 about a kidnapping and murder committed by Choi Man Wol. He receives a call from Hae Sang, who wants to meet him as soon as possible.

After his short conversation with Mun Chun, Hae Sang receives a call from San Yeong. She asks whether he is hiding something from her. But he denies it.

San Yeong goes to an internet cafe, searching for the three-leaf logo stitched on Woo Jin’s suit. She believes that she needs to find out more about him to know why the evil spirit guided her to him and who Choi Man Wol is.

Na Byung Hee had offered shelter to Woo Jin after his mother, the wife of Vice President Kim Chi Won, passed away. Woo Jin is awed by the grandeur of Hae Sang’s family home. She welcomes them with a spray of salt and red beans and tells her trusted aide to keep his son in line.

Hae Sang catches Woo Jin coming out of Na Byung Hee’s room when no one is home. When questioned, Woo Jin says that there was nothing interesting in her room. He goes to all the rooms in the house, rummaging through things, clearly envying their wealth.

Both boys are in the study, Woo Jin playing with a camera he found in one of the drawers and Hae Sang trying to stop him, when Hae Sang’s grandmother and Chi Won return home. Hearing footsteps coming their way, the boys sneak out through the window.

Woo Jin spots a shed and wants to go exploring. Hae Sang says that there is nothing but junk in there. Woo Jin’s eyes turn red under the influence of a hungry ghost, and he creepily says that Hae Sang has a lot of stuff but doesn’t know what. But he snaps back the very next second.

Hae Sang seems to have sensed something and goes silent. Woo Jin is confused and wonders whether there is something on his face. But the former tells him not to do all of that again.

Undeterred by the advice, Woo Jin goes back to study at night and gets the camera. He sees a piece of paper about a shaman named Choi Man Wol, born at Jangjin-ri in 1914.

Back in the present, Chi Won approaches Hong Sae and asks him to keep an eye on Mun Chun. Chi Won ran a background check on him and found out that he had barely graduated from Police University despite his excellent investigative skills because of his disregard for teamwork.

Chi Won encourages Hong Sae to also run a background check on them. Junghyeon Capital is essentially a moneylending venture that has a large number of high-profile customers. This gives them access to corporate secrets that will grant Hong Sae the promotion that he so desperately wants.

Hong Sae rejects him, but Chi Won assures him that it is not a bribe. He has to relay everything about Mun Chun with regard to Hae Sang. He has to find out about their meetings and what information they exchange.

The men in question meet each other. Hae Sang reveals that he had a younger sibling who was killed in the womb by the evil spirit because it was the second child. Jangjin-ri created juvenile ghosts with a second child, and so the vengeful spirit was retaliating.

He believes that his house also harboured the evil spirit. He shares that his mother knew Gang Mo. He asks Mun Chun for the case files of the suicides that occurred around him. But Mun Chun has other plans.

Mun Chun shows Hae Sang the report about Choi Man Wol’s kidnapping and murder charges. Lee Mok Dan’s belongings and severed finger were found on an altar in her house, and she was arrested. She committed suicide in the holding cell and had bruises on her wrists.

The author of the article about Lee Mok Dan was also found hanging in his home with bruised wrists the day the article was published. Mun Chun believes that if they were to begin searching, they would be able to solve Hae Sang’s mother’s case too.

Hae Sang carefully goes through the case file and notes five objects – the red baessi daenggi , the blue piece of earthenware, a black rubber band, a jade hairpin, and a glass bottle. He asks Mun Chun to contact any family members of Choi Man Wol, as he has questions to ask.

Meanwhile, Hong Sae approaches San Yeong and asks her about Hae Sang. She takes a jab at his profession and tells him to find it out himself. Or he could ask his partner. She later relents on one condition. He would help her find a person whose name she doesn’t know, referring to Woo Jin.

Hae Sang goes to meet a baksu , a male shaman ( cameo by Cho Hyun Chul ). He tells Hae Sang to beware of road accidents, especially on rainy nights, but roads are naturally dangerous to navigate on rainy nights.

Hae Sang tells the baksu that he cannot see any ghosts nearby that would help him predict the future. He wonders whether he has lost all the spiritual powers his great-aunt, Choi Man Wol, passed on to him.

Hae Shows shows him the baessi daenggi and the piece of earthenware. The baksu wonders whether it has anything to do with juvenile ghosts, as the baessi daenggi was used to mark the children that would become juvenile ghosts.

1958 was a particularly harsh year, with a draught as well as a typhoon hitting the village, as was mentioned in the record among his great-aunt’s belongings. Hae Sang asks to see the record.

Choi Man Wol received a billion hwan , the transliteration of South Korea’s basic monetary unit that was prevalent from 1953 to 1962. The present-day value of the money would be worth a building in central Gangnam.

It was too large an amount for it to appear in a village as downtrodden as Jangjin-ri. The money was paid by Junhyeong Corporation, which stuns Hae Sang.

Hong Sae meets San Yeong and reveals that there were no suicides among the students but strange deaths. The deceased were victims of a hungry ghost similar to Yoon Jung.

Hong Sae scoffs at her repeated mention of ghosts. Yoon Jung tells him that the Professor Yeom Hae Sang , he is interested in can see ghosts, and so can she. They’re after the same evil spirit and are trying to get rid of it.

Unable to find substantial information, San Yeong decides to go to the school and find out herself. Hong Sae accompanies her, as having a police badge is helpful at times. The principal reveals that Woo Jin changed after his mother passed away. Later, he got into a car accident that killed him.

San Yeong calls the number from Woo Jin’s student records, the Yeom family landline, and Na Byung Hee receives the call. San Yeong says she’s looking for Choi Man Wol. Byung Hee, paralyzed from the waist down, screams suddenly, causing her to drop the phone.

Revenant Episode 7 Recap

Hae Sang is at the registry office, trying to find out more about the billion hwan . It was approved by CEO Yeom Seung Ok, his grandfather.

San Yeong wants to visit the address mentioned in the records, and Hae Sang asks if she really doesn’t know who the house belongs to. She is shocked to learn that it is Hae Sang’s house.

Elsewhere, Mun Chun lets Hae Sang know that the investigators in the kidnapping and murder case were dismissed shortly after the case was closed. He thinks the detectives took bribes.

Revenant Episode 7 Ending Explained: What is Yeom Family’s Secret?

Hong Sae shares with San Yeong the history of the establishment of Junghyeon Capital. The people called it Samdocheon , a mythological river in Japanese Buddhist tradition similar to the ancient Greek Styx , as anyone who was an obstacle to the company died.

San Yeong notes that Seung Ok was appointed CEO in October 1958. She sees the board of Junghyeon Corporation in one of the pictures and connects it to the memory she saw when she touched the piece of blue earthenware.

Hae Sang goes back home. He barges in even though the bodyguards try to stop him. He confronts his grandmother with the baessi daenggi . She tells him to get out. He then shows her the news article about Lee Mok Dan’s disappearance and asks whether she knew the child too.

San Yeong’s vision blurs but then goes back to normal. She sees Lee Mok Dan and runs after her. She sees Choi Man Wol lure Lee Mok Dan away with promises of delicious food before her vision blurs again.

Junghyeon Corporation had paid off not only the mudang, Choi Man Wol but also the detectives in charge of the kidnapping and murder case and the people of Jangjin-ri.

San Yeong sees a vision from the past. Choi Man Wol was performing the ritual for the creation of the juvenile ghost while Yeom Seung Ok and Na Byung Hee watched from the sidelines. The juvenile ghost would possess the head of the family and fulfil all his desires.

Revenant Episode 8 Recap

San Yeong stumbles upon the house with the blue gate. She keeps sobbing as Choi Man Wol chants and then takes a knife to kill Lee Mok Dan. Seung Ok takes the baessi daenggi , and his shadow changes as the juvenile ghost possesses him, the loose-haired evil spirit.

Hae Sang questions his grandmother about whether their family was really responsible for the death of that child, and Na Byung Hee affirms it. The company was in a time of crisis, and the luxury he enjoys is a result of that ritual.

Hae Sang asks about his mother’s involvement. Byung Hee tells him he should have been possessed after his father’s death. She tried to prevent that but got possessed instead. They would have been much richer otherwise. A shocked Hae Sang stumbles out of the house and sees San Yeong wailing.

Hong Sae reaches the place, searching for San Yeong. He sees her accuse Hae Sang and destroy his car, while the latter stands and watches. Guilt-ridden, Hae Sang goes to the Han River Bridge, and Woo Jin follows him.

When Woo Jin went back to the study to look for the camera, he heard footsteps and hid beneath the table. Gang Mo had visited Byung Hee and told her he had met her daughter-in-law in Jangjin-ri. He had heard that they had created a juvenile ghost. Byung Hee wonders whether he was there to threaten them with that knowledge.

Revenant Episode 7 Recap

Gang Mo reveals that he did not believe but was academically curious and investigated the malicious customs of Jangjin-ri. He met an elder of the village from that time who had evidence of the event. Byung Hee’s daughter-in-law had revealed to him how to get rid of an evil spirit.

The reason Gang Mo had visited Byung Hee was to know how he could acquire an evil spirit. Whether he had to find Choi Man Wol or the five objects sealed by the five Lines of Prohibition, which her daughter-in-law had sealed away. Byung Hee offers him a bribe and tells him to leave and never contact her again.

Woo Jin reveals it all to Hae Sang. He tells him that he had not revealed it earlier because he thought Hae Sang would not be able to find the evil spirit as it had not appeared for a long time.

A river spirit starts climbing the pillars of the bridge as Hae Sang, in tears, throws his watch and car keys into the river. Woo Jin is agitated when he spots the spirit. He stands on the spirit’s path to Hae Sang and lets it pull him off the bridge and consume him.

Woo Jin offers his farewell, and Hae Sang begs him not to leave him alone. He cries, wondering how he is supposed to live from then on.

San Yeong goes back home to Hwawonjae. She sits at the door and sympathizes with the juvenile ghost. She says she won’t live like the other people she has possessed. San Yeong will do right by her now that she knows her name and her story.

San Yeong goes into the house, but the doors rattle from their hinges. Lee Mok Dan says that they were the ones who wanted her first. San Yeong would want her, just like her father did. San Yeong’s vision blurs again.

Revenant Episode 7 Review

Greed. This series is an unexpected yet apt portrayal of emotion.

Kim Tae Ri has yet again nailed her scenes. Her agony at witnessing the death of Lee Mok Dan reached through the screen.

Gang Mo’s involvement was predicted, but the show managed to surprise in the how . Considering the way he has been presented so far, his desire to acquire the ghost was shocking, to say the least.

Now that San Yeong seems to have cut ties with Hae Sang, will she place herself on the opposite side even though they have the same goal?

It would be interesting to see how the detectives would incorporate the involvement of ghosts in their quest to solve the bruised suicides .

Don’t Sleep on ‘Revenant,’ a Masterful K-Horror Series on Disney+

By Geoffrey Bunting

Geoffrey Bunting

Revenant , like so many horror stories, begins on a rainy night. Disney+ ’s latest South Korean drama opens as Professor Gu Kang-mo (Jin Seon-kyu) hurries through his front door, past shelves piled with books, and barricades himself in the study. “What went wrong?” he asks himself, flipping through his notes. Behind him, visible through paper windows, flashes of lightning illuminate a shadowy figure — its hair writhing in a wide halo like snakes.

It’s a sharp introduction to the ambiguity that haunts Revenant . Within its twisting avenues of mystery, we can’t always be certain that people are who they appear to be or that doors will lead where we think.

Editor’s picks

The 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history, the 100 best albums of 2023.

It’s unsurprising from writer Kim Eun-hee, whose seminal police drama, Signal , was possessed of a similar structure (using real-life crime rather than folklore) while the more action-oriented Kingdom revolved around a pillar of layered mystery. Kim is the master of expanding on common tropes with just enough originality as to transcend the traditions that inform her work.

Revenant is no different. It can’t claim to do anything new, but with the assuredness with which it blends detective drama and horror, Kim has given Disney+ its first real competitor to Netflix’s own originals .

Shades of Ringu , Dark Water , The Wailing , even The Host are visible in Revenant . In particular, it cleverly evokes the investigative throughline of Hideo Nakata’s horror classic, Ringu . And yet, at no point in its twelve episodes does Revenant feel like a copy, more the culmination of that rich vein of horror.

‘Night Swim’ Is a Bizarrely Intriguing Swimming Pool Horror Movie

With ken jennings now hosting solo, here's where to catch new episodes of 'jeopardy' online, the devil gets a due date in sinister new trailer for 'the first omen'.

At first, the series of ghosts in Revenant play like a greatest hits of K-horror — grisly reflections in the mirror, swarms of spooky insects, small blue hands that quickly disappear — before evolving to form part of a wider, tragic story that informs not just San-yeong’s understanding of the world she’s entered, but our own. Yeom and San-yeong visit a grandmother who has unleashed restless spirits onto her village because she wants to see her daughter again, a child abused by his parents who won’t pass on until his sister is safe, and a childhood friend whose situation forms a premonition of San-yeong’s. Even the spirit within San-yeong can shift between vengeful and a welcome — albeit murder-y — outlet for her frustrations.

Golden Globes Host Jo Koy Booed During Monologue, Blames His Writers

Taylor swift clearly not amused by joke about travis kelce relationship at the golden globes, trump on iowa school shooting: ‘get over it’, golden globe awards 2024: see the complete winners list.

This is perhaps because Revenant , despite its reliance on an especially tight thriller plot, embodies a style of horror we, in the West, have largely forgotten. Kim Eun-hee and series director Lee Jung-rim understand that horror is supposed to frighten us. They use the series’ runtime to build tension and create a sense of dread that never truly lets up.

Yes, it has its unoriginal moments, but in addition to its myriad terrors, Revenant can also be goofy and absurd, even joyful and heartfelt. It is, more than anything, human , and a reminder that South Korea just does horror so much better than we do.

Revenant Trailer

Korean Drama ‘Revenant’ Episode 7 Review

It really turned into a detective drama, as the mystery of Lee Mok-Dan’s murder and the origin of this evil spirit were finally revealed. It all stems from the greed of Hae-Sang’s grandfather and grandmother. In order to save the company that was about to fall, Hae-Sang’s grandparents went to Choi Man-Yeol, paid off all the villagers and the police, had Choi Man-Yeol kidnap and imprison Lee Mok-Dan, and finally brutally killed her after performing the ritual. Hae-Sang’s grandfather picked up the hair tie on the ground and began the fate of being haunted by the evil ghost.

惡鬼韓劇 13

After being possessed by the evil spirit, she will help you fulfill all your wishes, but the price is sacrificing the second child in the family, and those who try to stop the evil spirit will be killed by her in the form of suicide. Hae-Sang’s grandparents turned their fortunes around with the help of the evil spirit, even naming the company Samdocheon, and all those who blocked the company’s development were sent to the underworld by the evil spirit. In this way, Hae-Sang’s family became a super-rich family, and the evil spirit would be inherited by the eldest son.

But Hae-Sang’s mother, in order to prevent the evil spirit from possessing her son, began to seek various ways to solve the evil spirit. It seems that she first allowed herself to be possessed by the evil spirit so that Hae-Sang could escape the fate of being possessed, and then after meeting with Jookbangmo, Jookbangmo went to Hae-Sang’s grandmother to inquire about the way to eliminate the evil spirit. After hitting a wall, the evil ghost first killed Hae-Sang’s mother, and then Jookbangmo took the hair tie and let the evil ghost possess him, which led to the subsequent event of killing the second child.

惡鬼韓劇 19

I don’t know if Jookbangmo’s fortune came this way or if he was very rich to begin with? It is not very clear. Anyway, Hae-Sang’s mother told him the way to get rid of the evil spirit, so he started looking for those items. But he was killed before he could solve the evil ghost himself, and the evil ghost used his hand to write a letter to San-Yeong and Hae-Sang, thus continuing to possess people. After San-Yeong and Hae-Sang found out the truth in different ways, San-Yeong broke down in front of Hae-Sang’s old house and finally smashed the car in anger and left.

Hae-Sang also broke down after learning how his family’s fortune came to be, ran to the side of the Han River and seemed to want to commit suicide by jumping into the river, and his old classmate, the hungry ghost, rushed to stop him. Yoo-Jin knew the truth a long time ago, but she never told Hae-Sang, maybe she didn’t want her old friend to be so painful after knowing the truth, so she decided to hide it. Hae-Sang knew that Yoo-Jin knew about it a long time ago and broke down again. Just as Hae-Sang was about to be pulled under the bridge by the shadow, Yoo-Jin decided to block everything for Hae-Sang and was pulled into the river by the shadows instead.

惡鬼韓劇 16

After San-Yeong returned home, she first had a heart-to-heart talk with the evil ghost, and then told the shadow that she had found out her name and story, and now she would send her where she needed to go. After San-Yeong went into the room, the evil spirit knocked on the door outside like a madman and said in San-Yeong’s mind, “Just like your father, you will want to get me. It’s not sure if this sentence means that Jookbangmo didn’t resist the temptation and decided to let the evil spirit possess him, or if it means that after Jookbangmo was possessed by the evil spirit, he didn’t resist the temptation that it could help people get rich, anyway, his will is not strong enough.

Korean Drama ‘Revenant’ Episode 8 Review

The suspense of this episode is well brewed and after watching it I have goosebumps. I didn’t expect it to be so scary yesterday. The scriptwriter is so good that it breaks at this point. Will Myeong Chun die because Hong Se opened the door? The door is open and there seems to be no solution. The evil spirit will even use a voice changer to trick people into opening the door. How can this be prevented? Do you have to agree on a password beforehand? The evil spirit wants to kill Myeong Chun because he found the key information that Lee Mok Dan is not the second child, which should mean that the name is wrong and the one who was killed back then was not Lee Mok Dan.

惡鬼韓劇 19

So Haesang’s mother and Joo Jang Mo couldn’t kill the evil spirit, and the evil spirit also led Haesang and Sanhae to dig up those five items because no one knew his name, and those who tried to get close to the truth were killed by him. In this episode, Haesang continues to break down. He ran back to the village to cut his wrist and rewrite the wooden stake, hoping to summon Joo Jang Mo by summoning a foreign spirit. But after writing, he fainted and the village chief called Sanhae to find him by phone.

When Sanhae arrived, she saw the dark spirits coming towards Haesang. The later it got, the more terrifying it became. In the end, they even chased Sanhae’s car. This part is a bit fast, has that wooden stake been dealt with? If it’s not dealt with, the foreign ghost will come back to kill again. And after Yoo Jin sacrificed himself on the bridge, the dark spirit seemed to have no intention of letting Haesang go. He fell into the illusion and couldn’t get out. In the end, Sanhae pulled him to the place where the sun rises, which saved Haesang’s life. This scene is exciting but a bit jumpy, and Sanhae can suddenly see the ghost without a mirror, without any explanation.

惡鬼韓劇 18

Sanhae went to find Se Mi to take her back to celebrate. This is also a bit creepy. Who would take a good friend back to the haunted house and also sleep under the same roof with her? Then Se Mi kept talking about the whispering between Sanhae and Hong Se at the party. When I saw that, I was worried about her. What if the evil spirit suddenly became angry? Sanhae knew that Joo Jang Mo and she both had hereditary eye diseases. If there were no evil spirits, they would go blind in a few years. Sanhae knew why Joo Jang Mo allowed himself to be possessed by the evil spirit. Before going to bed, Sanhae asked the evil spirit what she wanted. The evil spirit gave Sanhae a photo of Yoo Jin in front of the hungry ghost painting and instructed her to dig out the items.

From the plot so far, it seems that Lee Mok Dan died twice, once he was kidnapped and killed while playing hide-and-seek, and the other time he was tricked into eating good food and later became the evil spirit of Haesang’s grandfather. Since Lee Mok Dan will not die twice, it means that there are two people who look exactly the same, probably twin sisters. Why Lee Mok Dan’s two sisters were turned into evil spirits can only be answered by the screenwriter.

Revenant Season 1 Episodes 7 & 8 Release Date, Time and Where to Watch

This article contains predictions for the Disney+ K-Drama series Revenant Season 1 Episodes 7 and 8, and includes the release date and where to watch online.

The  Disney+   K-Drama   Revenant  is, in many ways, a classic horror story, complete with dark-haired girls, spooky reflections, and demonic objects.

While the show’s languid pace might be off-putting to some, it has consistently developed its characters and mythology across new episodes, weaving a complex web of interrelated backstories and folklore. And things are only getting deeper and more complex as they go.

Here are the highlights of Revenant  Season 1 Episode 6 :

  • It was revealed that San-yeong funded the dress and pamper session with Hae-sang’s debit card and thus didn’t kill the influencer.
  • Instead, the influencer was a victim of a new type of ghost, known as a hungry ghost, which preys on people’s desires.
  • Hae-sang visited his grandmother, with whom he has never gotten along, about the urn piece he unearthed in the previous episode. She answered to questions and threw him out.
  • We learned Woo-jin is the son of Kim Chi-won, the house’s former gardener who is now the vice-president of Junghyeon capital.
  • San-yeong was led to more information about the hungry ghosts by the spirit. With Hae-sang and Hong-sae, they deduced that the person possessed by the hungry ghost was among the wedding party. Semi and the bride, Yoonjung, are missing from all the photos.
  • It turned out Yoonjung was the one possessed. San-yeong tracked her location and prevented her from claiming another victim. After she fled and was hit by a car, San-yeong and Hae-sang took her to hospital.
  • Hae-sang decided to pursue his research alone so that San-yeong’s impulses and desires didn’t make her susceptible to harm.
  • Hae-sang learned five prohibition ropes were crafted for his mother and for San-yeong’s father, Gang-mu.

The SBS’s “ Revenant ” has concluded its run today, leaving fans eager to discuss its thrilling ending and the resolution of the captivating storyline. Let us go through what happened in its finale.

Table of Contents

 “revenant” episode 12 recap.

Hae-Sang and Hong-Sae found the body and along with the final object. They can tell something went deeply wrong, so they go look for her.

San-Yeong goes to her mother’s café and she sees her friend too.

When Hae-Sang and Hong-Sae arrive, the shadow is back and it looks fine. She even receives the object with her right hand, they can tell something is wrong but go back.

Hae-Sang gets the call that his grandmother died. He goes to the hospital to see it and confronts Secretary Kim for what he’d done. He sheds tears and says she should’ve apologized to him and to them for what she’d done. They take the grandmother’s body to the NFS.

San-Yeong takes her mother back home. The next day, the mother can tell something is not right and tells her she’s not her daughter despite how nice she appears, she retorts with, ‘why would I need you if you’re that type of mom.’

The ghost keeps brushing her hair with her left hand and looks at the mirror, the real San-Yeong is trapped in another ‘dimension’ and is fighting someone who keeps trying to kill her and drag her away.

Hong-Sae then sees San-Yeong and follows her around, he sees that she visited places that sell things that can kill people. He confronts her and she asks him why does he like San-Yeong, he says its because she’s strong. He asks her to tell him what happened to her, she says, ‘its over.’

While Hae-Sang is sealing all the objects, he goes to the last place and gets stabbed by San-Yeong’s mother, the ghost had told her if she wanted to save her daughter, she must kill him but she couldn’t.

The police call Hae-Sang and Hong-Sae and they see footage of the grandmother’s suicide, she chopped one of her fingers to indicate the actual final object that they must burn in order to get rid of her.

They go back to the grandmother’s house and flip this place upside down and cannot find it. Then they get a message from San-Yeong’s mother that says she’s trying to kill her. They rush outside. The mother told the ghost they’d get rid of her and find her finger.

In that same period, the ghost inside San-Yeong goes to the place and locates the finger, Hae-Sang locks the doors, he figured out the mother wasn’t the one who sent the message because he never told her the ghost’s name. so only Hong-Sae went. Hae-Sang stayed behind.

He takes it and wants to burn it but she begins to hit the body with objects and then grabs glass parts and says she’ll kill the body if she can’t live. He puts the box down so she stabs him hard and then twists it with her legs. She is happy its over but then she sees the real San-Yeong in the mirror.

San-Yeong had figured out the person who was trying to kill her in that weird dimension, its herself. She refuses to die so she broke free and now she used the same method the ghost had used and forced the ghost to burn the box, the ghost screams in agony as it lights up the box, it eventually disappears.

After some time

San-Yeong is living her best life with her mother and friend, her mother has also changed and takes accountability more. They’re living a good life.

San-Yeong is working at the café when Hong-Sae shows up, he asks her about her blindness, she has some years left but can lose it in a year or so. She hasn’t told her mother yet and is waiting for her to get better.

Hong Sae says he was wrong, she hasn’t changed. They look outside as they’re drinking coffee as spring came.

Then San-Yeong meets with Hae-Sang and through people gossiping about him we find out that he donated hundreds of millions of dollars of his wealth, they call him crazy.

He’s at a sight that prepares the firework festival, he came here because he saw happy ghosts, Hae-Sang asks her if she stills sees ghost and she says yes.

Since this festival wards off bad ghosts and does good, the ghosts in this place look happy. Both of them look at the beautiful scene happy to see the ghosts looking happy.

The final scene shows San-Yeong’s mother hearing her husband say, ‘I am sorry,’ Hong Sae hears his sunbae detective tell him, ‘keep it up.’ It finishes with San-Yeong saying ‘okay, I will strive to survive.’

“Revenant” ending explained- frequently asked questions

Yes, it did, the evil spirit was defeated and our main leads were able to go on with lives and live happily.

How does the kdrama “Revenant” end?

Was the evil spirit in “revenant” caught.

Yes, she was eventually caught and basically handed the final object that could kill her to Hae-Sang. The spirit tries to kill Hae-Sang  but San-Yeong interferes and ends her using the methods she’s been using to kill those people by forcing them to commit suicide.

Who was the evil spirit in “Revenant”?

The evil spirit was not Lee Mok-Dan but her older sister Lee Hyan-Gi, she was originally chosen to be the sacrifice. However, after Lee Hyan-Gi loses her mother and her father and brother in separate incidents, she goes to retrieve her sister whom she placed in her place but also ends up getting taken as hostage and eventually killed.

SBS’s “Revenant” ending review

AMAZING, SHOWSTOPPING, Spectacular. There aren’t enough words to describe this masterpiece, I just loved it.

“Revenant” is possibly the best-written Kdrama of 2023 thus far, Kim Eun Hee has outdone herself, truly, she’s a legend and she’s the moment.

I can talk about the story’s structure and the characters for hours, honestly, the amount of effort that has gone into this is insane. I can tell the structure was planned backwards, as in the actual details came to mind first and then the rest was filled, thus, the leads trace back what happened backward. that’s some skill and something that takes a lot of time, effort, and immense talent.

This is what I mean when I say we need good writing. 12 episodes but no wasted moment, how is this possible?

“Revenant” ending was excellent in every aspect. The perfect ending.

The performances were amazing, and honestly, I think Tae Ri deserves AT LEAST, a daesang nomination, if not to win the award itself.

The thing is, this year’s nominations will be packed, especially with “Dr. Romantic 3,” the lineup for this specific time slot was astounding thus far. Regardless, I seriously think she needs to be nominated for a grand prize, at least.

Thank you for the hard work “Revenant” team, you did well, we’re proud of you.

  1. Revenant

Episode 7 of Revenant picks up where we left off with San-yeong in Hae-sang's house trying to get answers from Woo-jin. After Woo-jin tells her about a woman named Choi Manwol, who allegedly created the evil spirit, he disappears. San-yeong frantically tries to summon him back but he is long gone.

  2. Revenant Season 1 Episode 7 Recap

The seventh episode of Revenant, which is arguably the best thus far, contains more concrete revelations than most of the previous installments combined. And yet the big takeaway from it, I think, is how talented Kim Tae-ri is. The lead nails a despairing protagonist here, with some big emotional highs and some subtler, more introspective lows.
