Which country would I love to visit, why?

Which country would I love to visit, why?

If given the chance to visit a foreign country, I would choose South Korea as my destination. The main reason for this is to visit Seoul and Jeju Island. Seoul is a modern city that serves as the business and cultural hub of South Korea, with towering skyscrapers and Buddhist temples. The N Seoul Tower provides a breathtaking view of the city and its surroundings, while Insadong offers a taste of Korean flavor. Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palace are also must-visit sites for their authentic ancient architecture. Jeju Island is a booming tourist spot with beautiful beaches and mild climate. The island offers unique attractions such as Baeknok Lake and the haenyeo” female divers gathering fresh seafood. Most importantly, I hope to see my favorite KPOP stars by chance. Overall, South Korea is an exciting country with plenty of attractions to explore.”

f I had a chance to visit a foreign country, I would not hesitate to choose South Korea. The main reason why I would choose Korea as my destination is that I want to visit Seoul and Jeju Island.

Seoul, the capital of the South Korea, is one of the modern cities in the world. It is the business and cultural hub of South Korea, where skyscrapers tower over Buddhist temples. N Seoul Tower, built atop a peak in Namsan Park, allows me to view the entire city and surrounding areas from above. The teahouses and shops of Insadong give me a taste of Korean flavor, which I can further experience with a visit to the grounds and museums of Gyeongbokgung. UNESCO World Heritage Site, Changdeokgung Palace is a fine example of authentic ancient architecture which I would love to visit. In my opinion, Seoul is not just the capital of the South Korea, but a wonderful city worthy to visit.

The second part of South Korea I would like to visit is Jeju Island, a hot tourist spot booming with unique attractions. Jeju’s romantic sunrises and sunsets, mild climate and beautiful sandy beaches totally enchanted me just with the images found on Google. I often image that I could meander along the beaches to enjoy the sunlight and breeze. I can also hike with my family to Baeknok Lake at the top of Mount Halla, South Korea’s highest peak. I would also love to see the “haenyeo,” female divers gathering fresh seafood, and the iconic “grandfather statues” displayed outside of many restaurants. Most importantly, I hope to see my favourite KPOP stars by chance!!!

Of course, there are other countries I could visit if I had the opportunity to visit a foreign country. However, I think South Korea would be my first choice.

Sample Answer 1:

Introduction:

One country that has long piqued my curiosity and desire for exploration is Japan. Known for its unique blend of ancient traditions and cutting-edge modernity, Japan offers a myriad of experiences that range from tranquil to exhilarating.

Japan's cultural richness is unparalleled. The country celebrates its history through well-preserved temples, castles, and traditional ceremonies. Kyoto, once the capital of Japan, is home to over a thousand temples, including the famous Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion. Meanwhile, Tokyo, the current capital, exemplifies modernity with its towering skyscrapers, bustling streets, and advanced technology.

The natural scenery in Japan is just as captivating. From the iconic Mount Fuji to the serene Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, the country's landscapes are a testament to its geographical diversity. Seasonal changes further enhance these landscapes, with cherry blossom season in spring and vibrant koyo (autumn leaves) in fall attracting visitors worldwide.

Japanese cuisine, renowned for its emphasis on freshness and seasonality, is another aspect I look forward to experiencing. Sushi, sashimi, and ramen are just the tip of the iceberg. Each region boasts its local specialties, offering a culinary journey through the flavors of Japan.

Conclusion:

Visiting Japan would not only satisfy my wanderlust but also immerse me in a culture that balances respect for tradition with the embrace of innovation. It's a journey that promises both personal enrichment and unforgettable experiences.

Sample Answer 2:

Another country on my travel wish list is New Zealand. Famous for its stunning landscapes, adventure sports, and Maori culture, New Zealand is a destination that appeals to nature lovers and thrill-seekers alike.

The geographical diversity of New Zealand is astounding. The South Island is renowned for its majestic mountains, fjords, and glaciers, offering breathtaking views and outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and bungee jumping. The North Island, with its geothermal wonders, beautiful beaches, and vibrant cities like Auckland and Wellington, presents a contrast that underscores the country's natural beauty.

Maori culture is a significant part of New Zealand's identity. Engaging with this rich cultural heritage through traditional Maori performances, visiting marae (meeting grounds), and learning about the Maori way of life would provide a deeper understanding and appreciation of the country's history and cultural diversity.

New Zealand's conservation efforts to preserve its unique flora and fauna are also commendable. National parks and protected areas offer opportunities to encounter wildlife such as kiwis, dolphins, and seals in their natural habitats, making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts.

New Zealand promises an adventure of a lifetime, with its dramatic landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and commitment to environmental preservation. It's a country that not only offers a retreat into nature but also an adventure that challenges and inspires.

Follow-up Questions and Answers:

Q1. What do you think you would learn from visiting these countries?

Q3. What do you find most appealing about exploring new cultures?

A3. Exploring new cultures offers the chance to learn about different ways of life, traditions, and values. It's an opportunity to expand one's knowledge and appreciate the diversity that enriches our world.

Q4. How important is it to know the local language when visiting a new country?

A4. While knowing the local language can greatly enhance the travel experience by facilitating deeper interactions and understanding, it's not always essential. Many people find ways to communicate and connect through gestures, expressions, and basic phrases, highlighting the universal nature of human connection.

Q5. Would you prefer to visit historical sites or natural attractions in a new country? Why?

A5. This choice varies by individual preference. https://www.pexels.com/photo/administration-ancient-arches-architecture-356966/

Whenever you ask a person about what they want to do the most in life, the most obvious reply they will give you is they want to travel the world. Every one of us has a fantasy to travel and explore the whole world. When you think about top countries to visit, Italy can never be overlooked. Italy is a beautiful country located in the south-central Europe region. It is rich with ancient history, culture, Italian art, and countless cuisines. Italy is home to the most number of UNESCO world heritage sites (55) in Europe. It is certainly a tourist destination that doesn’t require any introduction that is why it tops my list of countries that I want to visit. In this essay, I will explain why I would like to visit Italy before going anywhere else.

Italy – The Country I Would Like To Visit – 700 Word Long Essay

https://www.pexels.com/photo/body-of-water-with-people-rowring-on-boat-beside-tall-building-161850/

Italy is a top tourist destination that requires no introduction. It is quite difficult to find a better country to visit that is more diverse, multifaceted, and rich in culture and food like Italy. The amazing thing about this country is that every traveler will surely find something of interest in a country like Italy. This country is unbelievably rich in culture, ancient history, beautiful natural scenery, ancient ruins, majestic mountains, and amazing Italian cuisines to name a few. These are some of the reasons why Italy tops my list of countries that I would like to travel to. In this essay, I would try my best to make you fall in love with this country so that it becomes a top destination for you too.

Secondly, I would want to visit Italy because of the mouth-watering foods and delicious Italian cuisine. Italian cuisine is said to be the finest and rare delicacies when it comes to food. As a food lover, I would love to taste the wood-fired pizzas, Tuscan pasta, good house wine, Italian spaghetti, famous Italian tomato sauce, and all other Italian foods. It is no secret that Italy also has the best red wine in the world. People travel from all over the world to go and taste the fine red wine the country offers. The Chianti, Lombardy, and Piedmont vineyards are indeed some of the world’s best with unmatched consistency.

I would like to visit Italy because of the ancient art and culture the country has. Italy is home to the 55 UNESCO world heritage sites, which is more than any other country in Europe. 50 of these ancient landmarks are cultural and 5 of them are natural. When it comes to landmarks Italy is full of beautiful churches and wonderful museums that are just too good to be overlooked.  In fact, you can’t even move around Italy without bumping into one of the world’s heritage sites. The Papal kingdom, the Renaissance of noble families, and smaller cities like Florence are also very rich in ancient history and culture. These cities will take you on an ancient roller coaster and you will also start to feel like an archeologist.

When it comes to beautiful natural scenery there is nothing that can beat Italy. The country is blessed with natural beauty all around with soaring mountains, great beaches, picturesque lakes, and off-course the longest coastline among all the European countries. The whole country is just magnificent with mesmerizing views. That is just one of the reasons why I would love to visit the country of Italy.

It is impossible to talk about Italian history without mentioning the poets and artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Donatello. Italy has the best crop of painters in the world. The pieces of art that Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo painted are currently worth millions of dollars. The ancient Roman ruins are also sites that I want to see. History is a big part of their culture and it played a key role in shaping Italy. It is also one of the reasons why I want to visit Italy before any other country

The Italian cities are also, for lack of a better word, legendary. The Italian cities boast modern as well as ancient looks which makes them unique and amazing at the same time. The beautiful cities of central Italy, southern Italy, and northern Italy add to the rich culture and traditions. Most popular Italian cities that include Venice, Rome, Cagliari, Siena, Florence, Naples, Genoa, Milan, and Palermo are all unique in their own way. Not to forget the beautiful yet small and independent Vatican city that is home to amazing architectural wonders like none other. As ancient as it sounds the city of Rome is home to the Colosseum that is one of the 7 wonders of the world. Rome is a city that is thousands of years older and is full of ancient history as well as archeological treasures. The roman empire is still known for the great roman army that ruled there for more than 1000 years.

In conclusion, these are the reasons why I want to plan a visit to Italy before any other place in the world. It is truly a remarkable country filled with adventure, beautiful scenery, amazing restaurants, tasty cuisines, and ancient history that you don’t want to miss out on.

Describe a country you would like to visit – Cue Card # 745

Ielts speaking part 2: ielts cue card/ candidate task card., describe a country you would like to visit..

You should say:

  • which country it is
  • what you already know about this country
  • when you want to visit this country

and explain why you want to visit this country.

[You will have to talk about the topic for one to two minutes. You have one minute to think about what you are going to say. You can make some notes to help you if you wish.]

Model Answer:

In my inquisitive mind, I want to visit every single country in the world, but it is not possible as I don’t have a limitless flow of money or all the time in the world to fulfil this wish. So, bringing my expectations to a practical level, I have plans to visit at least 5 to 6 countries in the next couple of years, and Switzerland stands at the top of this wish list.

Switzerland is, undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and I marvel at the sheer beauty of the wide-green fields and snow-capped mountains that I have seen on TV or in magazines. I have a school friend who lives there with her family and it was her who stirred my interests in this country. I have heard about her skiing on the mountain slopes, exciting experiences in the countryside, and experimenting with different cuisines. Even though those are just stories and experiences, it ignited my imagination on how beautiful the country would be and how much I would enjoy exploring it.

I’ll visit Switzerland sometime in the middle of the next year if everything goes according to my plan. I have already shared my ideas with my parents and they would be okay with me travelling there with one of my close friends. So, I will possibly visit this country which is famous for its celestial beauty, delicious chocolates and finest watch, with Elizabeth, who also wants to visit Switzerland with me.

I believe visiting Switzerland would be once in a lifetime experience for me. It will offer exciting and exhilarating adventures while also materialising my dreams. I’ve also heard a lot about high-quality Swiss watches and the punctuality of Swiss people, which I would like to witness myself. I would also like to enjoy beautiful landscapes, culture, foods and things in their way while in Switzerland.

The country i would like to live in essay sample, example.

Admin

The most obvious reason for such craving is my love of the Japanese language and Japanese culture, which comes from my early childhood; I still have notepads filled with fake “Chinese-looking” characters that I wrote in my early childhood. I remember Chinese fairy tales that my Asian friends told me when we were children, and Japanese legends and pictures (now I know it was ukiyo-e) in encyclopedias. This interest has not faded; when I grew up, I studied the Japanese language, I delved into its culture, history, and incredible etiquette. I appreciate the Japanese language for its phonetics, for the variety of artistic techniques, which are not far-fetched but inherent and natural. I like Japanese traditional culture for its simple minimalistic elegance, and for its unique feature of making art almost from anything. Hence, I would appreciate a possibility to live in this country for at least a year to witness it from the inside.

Another significant reason (at least for me) is safety. Known as a country with one of the lowest number of policemen in the world, Japan is a surprisingly safe country; people tell stories that children there can freely roam dark downtown municipal parks at night without any threat to their safety (of course, if children would want to stride among dark trees at night). I cannot say this about my hometown, where it is sometimes dangerous to walk in the center, not to mention suburbs and downtown.

The next reason can seem naive, but I would like to see those wonderful skyscrapers combined with super-narrow, crooked streets shining with neon with my own eyes. This is not the main reason, but if you ask me about my associations with Tokyo, the description above is my answer. Ginza, Shibuya, Roppongi–I believe these names are familiar to every tourist who has visited Japan. I would like to experience life in one of the most overpopulated, futuristic megalopolises in the world, where technological wonders (like vending machines selling almost everything) go hand in hand with customs and traditions that count thousands of years. More precisely, I like how Japanese people take the best from other cultures and adapt it to their mentality and reality.

Along with this, I am aware of the shortcomings. Japan consists of Japanese people at about 98%, and the other two percent is divided between other Asian nations, and a tiny amount of Caucasian people; hence, it is impossible to become one of the lads for the Japanese. Even if you make close friends with some of them, you will still remain “that foreign guy” with all their respective conclusions about your personality. Japan is expensive, sometimes eccentric, and possesses its own unique complicated mentality, which is difficult to understand even if you spend 20 years living there. And still, I would like to live there for some time.

Considering my deep interest in Japanese culture, history, and language, it is obvious why I would like to live in this country. The opportunity to witness all that I have read about and to apply my language and etiquette skills in practice is my main reason to move there. Safety and comfort of living, as well as a strange mix of futurism and tradition also make up my mind, even though I am aware of the shortcomings of living in Japan.

Three Places I Would Like To Visit Essay Example

What if I asked you to name 3 places you would like to visit? Hello, I am Rayyan and these are 3 places I would like to visit. In these couple paragraphs, I will talk about why I desire to go to these places, the tourist attractions, and much more. Beginning with London, we will then transition to Iceland and New York. I hope you take pleasure in reading!

We all agree that London is a beautiful place, but every person's reason to visit would be very different. Personally, I’d love to visit London because some of my favourite content creators live there. I would actually like to live there when I’m older. Some places I would like to explore in London are the Big Ben, the Shard, and Buckingham palace in person. I know for sure that I would definitely take a trip to the top of the Shard, I love heights!

Did you know Iceland is the safest country in the entire world, it is extremely beautiful! The views are absolutely breathtaking- It is as if you took something straight from a painting. Iceland has some of the most gorgeous places you've ever seen. Including the Blue Lagoon, Northern Lights, Skaftafell Ice Cave, and much more. If I ever went, I would definitely try horseback riding. I’d also love to do some whale watching; I've heard that it is an absolutely amazing sight!

Lastly, the definitely not infamous… New York!! New York is practically the opposite of Iceland, and the reason I desire going is also contradicting my reasons to go to Iceland. I would like to visit the city and go to see all the tourist attractions. Some of them include Times Square, Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center, and Central Park.

In closing, out of thousands of cities, 195 countries, and 7 continents, these are the 3 places I would like to visit. I hope you enjoyed.

what country would you like to visit essay

I regret spending 2 weeks in Europe traveling to 6 different places. Next time, I'm choosing quality over quantity.

  • I spent two weeks backpacking through four European countries for the first time.
  • I visited six different cities for short stays: Berlin, Vienna, Venice, Rome, Milan, and Zurich.
  • I didn't have enough time in each place, so I regretted packing so many destinations into one trip.

Insider Today

Berlin, Vienna, Venice, Rome, Milan, and Zurich. Is two weeks in Europe enough time to explore all of these places?

I found out for myself in October 2022 when I went backpacking in Europe for the first time, visiting four countries and six cities.

Back then, I wanted to see as much of the continent as possible. Since I was going for two weeks, I thought one or two nights in each city would help me make the most of my trip by allowing me to see a variety of places.

But once I was there, I realized I only got a sampling of what each destination had to offer.

48 hours isn't enough time to explore a city

I longed for more memories in Berlin — my first stop on the trip — as soon as I boarded my train to Vienna . And when I was headed from Austria to Italy, I felt I had barely gotten a taste of Vienna's art scene .

I spent a week in Italy, but splitting my time between three different cities — Venice, Rome, and Milan — left me craving more.

This was especially true in Rome — one of the most popular tourist destinations for the summer of 2024, according to a recent study of trending searches by Delta .

Related stories

The ancient city blended old and new. I strolled down cobblestone streets with ruins on one side and modern buildings on the other. Seeing the dramatic exteriors of Renaissance museums had me longing for enough time to go inside. And seeing ruins from a distance made me wish I had the chance to see them up close.

My last stop in Switzerland had my favorite landscapes of the whole trip, and after just two nights, I flew home wishing I'd made time for an epic mountain hike.

From stunning architecture and rich histories to striking landscapes, these cities impressed me upon arrival.

But with less than 48 hours to explore each destination, I could only hit the top tourist highlights, like the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, the Colosseum in Rome , and the canals in Venice .

I didn't have a chance to dive deeper into what life in each city was really like. If I had more time, I would have cruised on Lake Zurich, shopped in Milan, or stayed in the neighborhood of Kreuzberg in Berlin . Each day in every city, I walked past remarkable buildings and massive museums that intrigued me and thought, "Next time."

So, no — two weeks is not enough time to explore six European cities, and I learned the hard way.

Visit fewer places and take your time

If you're planning a trip to Europe, don't find yourself saying "next time" every day, like me.

Instead, I recommend focusing on one or two cities or towns and taking the time to immerse yourself in their art scenes, neighborhoods, and history. That way, you'll leave with a deeper sense of the destinations you carefully selected.

On my flight back to New York City, I'd already started mentally planning to visit Zurich, Berlin, Rome, and Vienna again.

So, on the way home, if you still wonder about a destination you didn't get to, make sure there's a next time.
