PTE Listening Practice Test

In this era of advanced technologies, education is one of the important foundations for the personal, social and economic development of an individual. International standards set a new trend for youngsters to expand their knowledge and education beyond their domestic standards. An individual adapts himself to different environments which help him to survive till the last stage of life. Addition of a foreign qualification in the resume helps an individual with better international career opportunities. For instance, a student with MBA degree from a recognised international institution gets priority as compared to others.

Foreign travelling for higher education is must these days as competition in the field of education has increased, and one needs to be physically present in order to assess the competition he is dealing with. It sharpens overall growth and adds practical knowledge which cannot be attained through only books. In fact, those who spend more time on travelling have a broader view of life because they tend to be more independent, which is very important for academic study and research.

In a nutshell, travelling is an important element in an individual’s life for higher studies which in turn is an important step towards success in this world of competition and survival.

Travel is important for education. To what extent to you agree or disagree.

Nowadays, travelling has become an essential part of our education system. It can be agreed that getting the knowledge by exploring the world can make the learning experience far better, while people, on the other hand, stands a perspective that travelling has nothing to do with education and a wastage of time. This essay will further elaborate on both the sides and thus will lead to a logical conclusion. There is a myriad of arguments in favour of my stance. The most preponderant one is that students can learn about distinct cultures, traditions, and values by visiting different places that can not be gained by reading books. Travel can not only provide students a realistic view of the world, but it can also help the students to acquire salient practical knowledge about various aspects. For example, by reading the books students can get information about any aspect, but they would not be able to memorise it until they are not experiencing the actual situation. Notwithstanding, some people tend to believe that purposeful information can only be gained by reading the books. Besides, travelling is only a wastage of time and it can also distract the students from other academic subjects. As an illustration, according to the startling new research, 70 percent of students who went on tours for the study were failed in their final examination. It hardly needs mention that all these demerits have a far-reaching impact on candidate's learning. In view of the arguments outlined above, one can conclude that despite having some drawbacks, the role of tours in qualifying pupils is instrumental indeed.

“Value-added by travel in Education. Is travel a necessary component of education or not? Will scholar sitting at home have more knowledge than one who travels? “

Many schools and universities have included trips as a part of their curriculum. Some academicians and parents argue that this leads to an increase in the costs of education, but the rich experiences and knowledge gained on these journeys are assets for travellers.

Travel is an integral part of education. The most obvious advantage is that it broadens the mind. Experiencing a new culture, meeting people from different walks of life and trying their cuisines are precious experiences. Travellers face unexpected situations which brings them out of their comfort zone – that is where they learn the most. This cannot be learnt within the four walls of the rooms.

On the other hand, many argue that reading books can give you all the knowledge. Book readers can travel all the countries with the characters of the story. Agreeable, but that is a world with the author’s perspective. Besides, practical learning is always more beneficial than theoretical knowledge. Given an opportunity, all the readers would want to go themselves and see the places described in the books and movies.

In conclusion, travelling gives practical knowledge. Such learning cannot be forgotten – it sinks deep in the minds of travellers. This increases confidence and flexibility in adapting ourselves to situations.

Question:

Some people think that students benefit from going to private secondary schools. Others, however, feel that private secondary schools can have a negative effect on society as a whole. Discuss.

Answer:

Numerous people believe that pursuing secondary education from a private organization can be beneficial for learners, while others feel that it can lead to several drawbacks to the community. Both have valid reasons.

On the one hand, private schools ensure that the aspirants have the access to the best quality resources and facilities. It can not only influence their learning capabilities but also helps in creating a foundation for their career. In addition, private organizations make sure that each progeny gets the required attention, which can help them to clarify all the doubts and understand a concept well. For instance, BCM Secondary school, which is situated in ludhiana, has multiple sections including a small number of students so that each learner gets the desired attention from the instructor. Moreover, private schools offer students a wide variety of extra-curricular activities which keeps the learners engaged and active at the same time.

On the other hand, private schools can have a downside for society as the students of these schools  might feel superior to the students of public schools and they might feel a sense of being at the upper position in a hierarchy. Also, it can divide society into two different kinds which can have a negative effect on the relations of kids as well as their parents. To exemplify, school goers often tend to lose respect for other kids in their vicinity and might talk to them in an ill-mannered way, which can lead to arguments and hinder peace in society.

To encapsulate, attaining higher education from a private organization can immensely upscale the education of a student but at the same time, it may lead to some circumstances that can deteriorate the relations in the community.

Successful sports stars and glamorous film stars are role models for youngsters. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

It is believed by many that celebrities leave an ever-lasting impression on teenagers and act as role models for young people. In my view, these superstars can majorly impact one's life and motivate one to work towards their goals.

With the advancement of technology and social media platforms, one can easily get to know what a film star is up to and constantly see their progress. Due to this, teenagers can see all the projects that a celebrity is working on and it can motivate them to work hard as well on their goals. Moreover, the boldness and courage of these artists encourage children to showcase their talent as well. For instance, Arijit Singh, who is one of the best singers in India, recently organized a challenge in which his fans had to sing any one of his songs and post them on Instagram. This trend not only helped the youngsters to showcase their talent but also helped them gain popularity as the singer reacted to the different submissions.

Moreover, there are a lot of documentaries and interviews held in which the celebrities share their life story and elaborate on how they worked hard for their careers. As a result, this makes a young person realize the hardships of life and the value of determination. In addition, sports stars influence the younger generation to stay active and energetic by exercising daily rather than being couch potatoes. To exemplify, Virat Kohli, a cricketer in the Indian cricket team, recently launched his fitness app in which people can set up a workout routine for themselves.

To conclude, it can undeniably be said that film stars and sportspersons are shaping the minds of youngsters these days and leading them in the right direction.

With the advent of technology, a plethora of people have gained access to smartphones and internet browsers; however, it has distanced the senior citizens when it comes to learning all the new updates. There are numerous ways in which old people can make use of smartphones and there are a lot of techniques to motivate them to inculcate the use of these gadgets.

PTE Writing Sample Question: 4

Some people prefer to play team sports, while others prefer to play individual sports. Discuss the advantages of each. Then indicate which you prefer and why?

Numerous individuals prefer to play sports which consist of different teams whereas others like to go for sports in which players have to perform individually. Both methods have respective merits but in my view, team sports tend to inculcate a plethora of values in a sportsperson.

On the one hand, playing with your teammates makes one realize the importance of collective effort and unity because the overall success is due to the hard work and determination of the team. Also, it instills values such as cooperation, understanding, bonding and group effort to name a few. For instance, sports such as hockey and cricket are a prime reference that winning is attained by the collective effort and strategies followed by the whole team. In addition, various parents encourage their wards to participate in group sports so that their children can learn social skills as well as team spirit.

It not only makes one responsible for their success but also creates a mindset of competitiveness, which can help one to grow in their respective field of sport. Furthermore, it makes one a specialist in their endeavor and one is known for their extreme hard work and determination. For illustration, Viswanathan Anand, who is a renowned chess player in Indian history is known for his sharp mind and his quick responses in the game of chess.

In my opinion, team sports are responsible for personal as well as the overall growth of a player and make one realize the importance of other people's efforts as well. Moreover, it also teaches us to celebrate success collectively.

To conclude, there are numerous benefits of playing group sports as well as individually; however, I believe that it is team sports which makes an individual grow and respect other players as well.

PTE Writing Sample Question: 5

It is argued that getting married before finishing school or getting a job is not a good choice. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is believed by many that one should get married after completing higher education or when one is earning well. I completely agree with the given notion as one should have a financial foundation before starting a new life with their partner.

It is highly preferred that one should finish their education before getting married as education builds one's future and career, as it lays down the foundation of an individual's dreams and ambitions. Also, an individual tends to shift their focus from studying to earning if they get married at an early stage of their life. For instance,  a plethora of people drop out of their colleges or universities and start a day job because they have to support their families after getting married and lose a chance to complete their education. Hence, one should complete their finishing school before they decide to get married.

Moreover, it is really essential that one should be financially stable and has a secure job before making a decision to get married because there are numerous responsibilities and duties that one has to take care of after getting married. Furthermore, an individual needs to earn well as marriage comes along with an increase in household expenditures. For example, when one starts a family, one needs to be economically stable in order to afford the new lifestyle full of changes.

To conclude, it is not a wise decision to get married before finishing school or having a stable source of income.

PTE Writing Essay: Everything You Must Know To Score 80

PTE Writing Essay

The Pearson Test of English(PTE) is an English language testing exam. All the students from non-English speaking countries who are seeking admission in an English-speaking country are required to submit an English test score.

There are various English testing exams like the IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, and the Duolingo test English.

For Indian students, PTE is the most chosen English language proficiency test because of its easy format and feasibility.

PTE tests your English skills in 3 sections: The speaking and writing section, the Listening section, and the Reading section. The Writing section is often the hardest for students as it requires them to write an essay.

Many students also have doubts regarding how the PTE writing essay is evaluated and how they can get more marks in the writing section.

Table of Contents

PTE Writing Essay Format

You will be given a writing prompt that can be 2-3 sentences long or a question. You will have to write an essay on that prompt which should be 200-300 words long.

The essay should also be written in a formal style. You will get 20 minutes to complete the essay.

PTE Writing Essay evaluation

The PTE is very specific when it comes to the evaluation of the sections. All the sections of PTE are evaluated based on certain skills and characteristics.

It is important to understand the marking system of the PTE writing essay to score more in it. The writing essay is evaluated based on 4 criteria:

PTE Writing Essay evaluation

Content:

The most important criterion to be evaluated in the essay is the content. The length is just 200-300 words, so you need to be very precise in the body of the essay.

Try to address all the points that you think are important regarding the prompt. If the prompt is a question, make sure your content provides a clear answer with valid reasons.

You may include your opinions in your content, but they should all be backed up with valid reasons.

Coherence:

Another important skill that is evaluated is coherence. It refers to how well the ideas are organized in the essay.

The examiners want you to include your opinions in the PTE writing essay, but they want the ideas to be logical and well-organized.

They are also looking for a wells structured essay with a good introduction, body, and conclusion.

Grammar:

The examiners are strict about the grammar used in the PTE writing essay. They need you to write clear error-free sentences. Mostly the use of tenses should be perfect.

One aspect of grammar which students often ignore is Punctuation. The whole meaning of one sentence changes by incorrect use of punctuation.

Vocabulary:

Your ability to use a variety of words in your essay demonstrates your vocabulary. The examiners are looking for the correct usage of vocabulary rather than just hard words forced into sentences. Vocabulary is also an important evolution criterion in the speaking section.

If you struggle with making a proper PTE study plan to get a good score in the PTE exam, our other blog will benefit you.

Tips and Strategies for PTE Writing Essay

Now that you have a clear understanding of the format and the evaluation criteria of the essay let us look at some tips and strategies that you can use to improve your score in the writing section.

Understand the prompt:

Before you start writing the essay, the most important thing is understanding the prompt properly. The prompt is 2-3 sentences long and is very specific. You have to understand what the examiner is looking for in the essay.

The prompt may be a question. In that case, try to explain the question briefly in the introduction part and answer the question with valid arguments in the body part.

Organize and plan:

The essay you need to write is of a short length, and thus each word has more importance. Do not start writing the essay as soon as you read the prompt.

Take some minutes to understand the prompt, and then plan your essay. Make a clear picture of what your essay would look like, what points you will include in every section of the essay, and what arguments you will make.

Organizing your thoughts may take some time, but it makes your essay clearer and more precise.

Use a formal tone:

This is rather a necessity than a tip, but most students fail to write in a formal tone. You can start reading some of the formally written essays to understand what a formal essay looks like.

Appropriate use of words and punctuation are also important to maintain a formal tone. Avoid using short forms and slang. Try to sound as professional as you can.

Use examples:

This is probably the most underrated tip for the PTE writing essay. The examiners require you to have a formal tone, but they need to know where your opinions are coming from.

Whenever you put forward an opinion in the essay, support it with an example that validates your opinion. This will improve your score distinctly in the writing section.

You can rely on hypothetical examples but try to include real-life examples when possible. Try to demonstrate your observation skills subtly when you use a real-life example. Examiners love to see a candidate who has good observational skills.

Linking words:

Using words that link two sentences together, like ‘Since,’ ‘However,’ ‘Moreover,’ and ‘Nevertheless,’ can make your essay more formal and connected.

This will make the examiner conclude that you have organized your thoughts beforehand and know which sentence will follow which one. These things are not specifically looked for, but they increase your score spontaneously.

Review:

This is another tip that is rather a necessity for PTE writing essays. When you are writing in haste, you will make mistakes with spelling and grammar.

These spelling mistakes will not be recognizable when you write, but with a simple and quick review, you can avoid and correct these mistakes. The PTE is computer-based, and thus you can correct your mistakes without making your essay look bad.

You may also have made some mistakes in the grammar of some sentences. Reviewing the essay will also help you to correct these grammar-related mistakes.

Practice:

The key to writing a perfect essay is practice. You should practice writing as many essays as you can.

You can either take an official practice test of the PTE, or you can look for prompts and then write on them and use a grammar-checking tool like Grammarly.com to help you to identify your mistakes.

It also provides you with a writing score which is made by analyzing several different criteria.

Prompt Examples for PTE Writing Essay

Now that you have all the required tips and strategies, here are some examples of prompts that can be asked, or at least these examples are similar to the ones that will be asked.

You can practice writing your essay on these prompts and then check your score on Grammarly.

  • Some people believe electric vehicles are the key to a clean environment, while others believe they won’t make such a big difference. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
  • Many developing countries have a big gap between the rich and poor. What are the reasons that fuel this gap, and what measures can be taken to lessen this gap?

  • Some people think prisoners should be treated as mental patients and given psychiatric help rather than prison sentences. What are your thoughts on this?
  • Countries like Norway and Finland have been at the top of the happiness index many times in a row, while richer countries like America are still below them. What do you think is required for a country to have a happy population?

These were some of the most common examples of prompts in the PTE writing essay . You must have gotten an idea about the pattern of the prompts asked in the exam.

They usually give you a statement that is either a fact or a point of discussion. You have to identify what they’re asking for carefully.

They may just ask for your thoughts which can be both positive and negative, or they may directly give two extreme opinions and then tell you to discuss those particular points.

You must back your opinions with valid reasons and real-life examples in each case. You can take an example from your country and compare that will others to validate your response.

PTE essay writing structure & word limit

Before diving into specific strategies, you need to know the PTE essay writing structure.

In this task, you have to respond to a given prompt in the most logical way. The essay writing often follows a standard format, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.

The details of each part can be:

Introduction

The introduction should be about 1-2 sentences, starting with a statement related to the topic and giving an opinion about the mentioned issue. Notice that your point needs to be clear,  brief, and focused on the task.

The body paragraph is usually between 200 and 300 words in length. You can divide it into two single paragraphs, each of which gives an idea supporting the main point of your thesis statement.

You can refer to the below writing structure:

  • The first sentence of the paragraph mentions one reason why you state as in the introduction.
  • The following sentence explains and clarifies the reason in the first sentence.
  • The next sentences provide some specific evidence and examples to illustrate the idea. This strengthens your idea and helps it be more coherent.

The body is the most important part of PTE essay writing. Therefore, you should practice and strive to write as smoothly as you can.

The last of the essay is the conclusion. In this part, you should restate your thesis statement in different words to emphasize your main argument and summarize the key points you made in the body paragraphs.

This part should contain about 1-2 sentences.

Word limitation in essay tasks is an important factor you need to notice. It’s better when you write in that range, not less or more.

How will your essay be scored?

PTE Essay Writing - Detailed Guidelines & Tips

Since you understand all about the essay structure, you need to know how the examiner scores you.

PTE essay writing has a detailed and transparent scoring system. The scoring process involves both automated scoring and human raters.

Here’s a breakdown of how your PTE essay will be scored:

This is the most important part of the score frame. It can comprise up to 3 points (the others usually occupy 2 points for each aspect).

Content factor evaluates the relevance and adequacy of your response to the given essay prompt. You will be scored on how well you address the topic in providing relevant information and giving your supporting ideas with examples and details.

In case you are not focusing on the given topic, or writing rambling, you might lose points.

Formal requirement

Formal requirement assesses the structure and organization of your essay. It also refers to how many words you write in the paragraph. The ideal is your writing in about 200 to 300 words. If it is not in this range, you will receive a lower score or even zero in some cases. More specific:

  • If the response is between 200 and 300 words, you will gain 2 points.
  • You would receive 1 point if your paragraph contains 120-199 words or 301-380 words.
  • You will receive a zero if you write less than 120 words or more than 380 words,  using bullets in the paragraph.

The grammar score assesses how master you write English. It is based on your use of verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, word order, and other grammatical aspects.

Below is the detailed range score:

  • 2 if the test-taker has excellent grammar usage and it’s hard to find any errors.
  • 1 if you demonstrate quite good grammatical control and there is no mistake leading to misunderstanding.
  • 0 if you have some basic mistakes and use a too-simple structure.

This aspect evaluates your use of a wide range of vocabulary, as well as your ability to use words and phrases appropriately. The vocabulary score considers the complexity and appropriateness of your word choices.

You will get/score:

  • 2 if you can apply idioms, collocations, and phrases in an appropriate way.
  • 1 if you use a wide range of vocabulary connecting to the topic.
  • 0 if you only use simple vocabulary, not enough to handle the task.

This part appraises the accuracy of your spelling. It’s important to avoid spelling errors to maximize your score.

  • 2 if there are no misspelled words.
  • 1 If there is a single spelling word mistake and the response has several typing errors.
  • 0 If the response includes many misspelled words and typographical errors.

Development, Structure, and Coherence

In this aspect, test-takers need to show how well they elaborate on their ideas and arguments, their idea organization skill, and how well their ideas flow and connect throughout the essay. You will gain:

  • 2 if the answer exhibits a coherent organization and effective elaboration of concepts.
  • 1 if the answer lacks a suitable organization and the ideas are connected in an unsuitable manner.

In the essay task, you are given an opinion or point of view and asked to explain your standpoint. You must provide evidence and examples to support your argument while clearly expressing your thoughts in cohesive sentences. The length of the essay should be between 200 – 300 words.

In the multiple-choice task, you are asked to select the correct word or phrase from a list of options. Questions may require filling in the blanks, reordering paragraphs, and completing sentences. The questions in this section are designed to test your knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary.

Proven techniques to score high on the essay

Scoring high on the essay is an achievable goal with proper preparation and hard work. Here are some proven techniques to help you get the best score on your essay:

Before you start writing your essay, it is important to read and re-read the prompt carefully. This will ensure that you understand exactly what is being asked of you so that your response meets all the criteria required by the question or topic. So, take the time to read the prompt multiple times, noting any keywords and key points.

Consider how your answer should be structured and organized to fulfil the requirements in the prompt. Make notes as you go along so that you can refer back to them while writing your essay.

After reading the prompt and understanding the task, it is time to brainstorm ideas and generate potential solutions based on the prompt. Take a piece of paper and write down any ideas and thoughts that come to mind. Think about the main topic, any relevant sub-topics, and any personal experiences that may be related. Consider what your response should include in terms of facts, figures, and evidence to help support your points.

Writing down your ideas will help you to narrow down your focus and develop a plan for the essay. This will help ensure a well-structured and organized piece of writing. Once you have a plan, you can begin to structure your essay and begin writing.

Creating an outline helps to organize your thoughts and ideas for the essay in a structured and logical manner. It should include your main points, arguments, and supporting evidence. It should also include the introduction and conclusion of your essay.

When creating an outline, start with the introduction to provide a brief overview of the essay. Next, develop an outline for each of your main points accompanied by evidence to support it. This could include research, quotes, or personal experiences. Finally, end the outline with the conclusion to summarize the main points and provide a final thought on the topic.

After finishing your outline, it’s important to take some time to flesh out your essay. This involves writing a rough draft and refining it until you have something that conveys your message in the best possible way. When drafting, include strong evidence to support your points and avoid using too many cliches or jargon, as these can detract from your work.

While writing the draft, keep the structure and flow of the essay in mind. Ensure each sentence is connected to the next sentence, and make sure it flows logically. It is also important to include all the points and evidence from the outline.

Every point you make in an essay should be supported by evidence from reliable sources. This could include statistics, quotes, or examples from other sources. This will help to ensure that your arguments are convincing and can stand up to scrutiny.

When researching, finding reputable sources relevant to the topic is important. Additionally, when citing sources, make sure to use the proper citation format. This shows that you have put in the effort to research your essay and that your points are backed up by evidence. Failing to provide evidence can weaken your argument and result in a lower score.

It's important to use the right language in your essay to communicate your message effectively. So, ensure the language you use is appropriate for the audience and conveys your message clearly. Using appropriate language when writing essays can help you score higher marks on exams and give readers a better understanding of your arguments and opinions.

For example, avoid slang or colloquial expressions if you’re writing a formal essay. Instead, choose words and phrases that convey a sense of formality and sophistication. Also, avoid using overly complicated language, as this can make your essay difficult to read. Finally, use active rather than passive voice to make your essay more concise and clear.

When writing an essay, it’s important to vary your sentence structure to keep your reader engaged. Using sentences of different lengths and styles can add depth and complexity to your essay. So, try using different types of sentences, such as compound-complex, simple, and compound sentences, for more depth and clarity.

Writing an essay that is filled with long, complex sentences will be difficult to understand and can make the ideas seem scattered. Instead, using a variety of sentence structures, such as short, simple sentences, longer compound-complex sentences, and questions, will create a more readable and compelling essay.

Once you have completed writing your essay, it is important to take the time to edit it carefully. Editing involves looking at the essay as a whole and making sure it is clear and concise. It allows you to evaluate how effectively you have conveyed your ideas as well as identify any areas where improvement may be needed.

After you have made any necessary edits, it is important to proofread your paper carefully. It involves looking for any spelling, grammar, or punctuation mistakes and correcting them. This will help ensure that the essay is as error-free as possible and is of the highest quality.

PTE Latest Essay Questions with Answers 2022

Should we preserve past historical buildings.

There is continuous debate over preserving past historical buildings. Some prefer modern architecture and designs and bat for cheaper new buildings instead of preserving old ones. I personally disagree with this view and will further prove my point in this essay.

Some were spared the destruction and some remain as painful reminders of the regime. Historical buildings have a rich and vast history to be talked about. By visiting century old buildings or sites, people witness city’s diverse culture and complexity and this is the reason why people are attracted to historic places and buildings. Thereby attracting foreign currency and generate work for local people. It promotes growth and add value to the economy.

The historical buildings were made with high-quality construction material and by the most talented engineers of that era. For example, the temple Abu Simbel located in southern Egypt carved out of a sandstone rock cliff is a marvel piece of complex engineering. Their huge external rock relief figures have become iconic. The temple is one of the most popular tourist sites in Egypt. Such practices and materials are not really seen in modern era buildings and many historic buildings are much better than its brand new counterpart. The government can avoid costly new constructions by simply upgrading the historic buildings with relatively inexpensive modifications and converting them to hotels, coffee shops or a tourist place. Also, the government should encourage public sector undertakings and corporate houses to conserve, restore and maintainprotected buildings and sites.

To conclude, the preservation and conservation of historical buildings are in the long term interest of society.

Formal Written Examination Is An Effective Way To Assess

There has long been much contention about the evolution of teaching methods, its effectiveness and growing emphasis on methods to assess a learner’s performance. I partly agree with the statement as the formal written examination is an effective way to test what students have learned in class but this method has flaws too which I will further explain in this essay.Throughout the world, the examination is an official sanction, indispensable method to force the learners to put in more effort, to stay motivated and strive for more energetic attempt to achieve the goal. In our contemporary school systems, formal written examinations are organized at fixed intervals (quarterly, semi-annual or annual) to assess the level of knowledge in students and in the case of failure, they are made to repeat the class. Through this conventional method, students are subjected to tests of control of the knowledge taught.

Through formal written examinations, educators get a view of children who require informed assistance. In particular, the early diagnosis of deviation in student’s attributes and pedagogical methods of teaching makes it possible to identify and address the weaknesses before they become irremediable.Having said that, the formal written examination cannot gauge one’s level comprehensively. Often in such exams, the mere cramming of subjects is enough to score good grades which I think is not an effective method to assess a learner’s ability and skills. The educators should think of other qualitative assessments tools and performance evaluation methods like oral presentation, group discussion etc. to assess both learning outcome and quality of learning process.

THE SPACE TRAVEL IS FANTASTIC THESE DAYS AND THEY ARE VERY FASCINATE TOWARDS ITS BUT THERE ARE MANY ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS IN OUR PLANET WE SHOULD RESOLVE THE PROBLEMS OR TRAVEL SPACE AND SPEND A LOT OF MONEY?

It is highly a debatable issue that government should spend money on space travel rather than on environmental issues because both are mandatory for mankind. Therefore, government should allocate equal resources to both. Let discuss both views in detail in the upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, space travel is the responsibility of government for the welfare of people on earth because when the research would be done then it would definitely aids to humankind such as scientist would find out the treatment about incurable diseases and can save the precious life of person by the doctors or specialists. Moreover, natural resources that are going to scarce on the earth can found and on other planet, these resources such as fossil fuels, minerals and water are important to live on earth because regardless these resources life cannot imagine on this planet. Furthermore, due to the increased in population, need more habitable space and the researchers can invent several other things which can prove beneficial for homo sapiens, if the government spend money on space travel

Although, space travel would have some fruitful results but the problem of poverty, unemployment, terrorism, pollution has becoming a leading concern on earth. Therefore, government should expenditure on these problems first. people in rural areas are not much awaking about the environment problems and the awareness must be driven in those areas by organize awareness camps. In this way, environment problem like pollution, global warming can be minimize to some extent.

Concisely, I pen down saying that spending too much money on research of mars and moons is worthless in front of these problems because government should solve the fundamental problems of mankind first after that they should think about the other planets and there should be balance between both.

LAW CHANGES HUMAN BEHAVIOR

It is irrefutable that law plays a significant role in human’s life. The governments of a particular nation pass these laws and people should follow them. However, a significant number of people believe that law changes the behavior of people. But I disagree with this notion as I have some logical and rational reasons to explain this statement. Let discuss all the views in the upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, there is no denying the fact that laws are made for the safety of people but natives either in developed or in developing countries break the laws which put them as well as others in trouble. For instance, there is a law of vandalism but when people roaming in the public parks and gardens, they start plucking the flowers without thinking about vandalism law. Mostly opulent people do not bother about that law because there is no rigorous punishment and heavy fine over this practice. In this way, linear traditional laws can never change the attitude of person.

Furthermore, traffic laws are broken by the most of the people all over the world, which may cause a major accident, or sometimes even death can occurred. To illustrate, when the light turns red, people must stop over there and they should not go until the light does not turn into green. But these rules are not followed by them because of linear laws. Not only this, cyber crime has becoming a grave issue in these days which also have some laws but these are not followed by the people and a large amount of money transaction, information of making atom bombs and destroy the place within seconds are still going on.

Hammering the last nail, people break these laws because of carelessness and lack of awareness among the people. That is the reason the behavior of people is not changing. Moreover, government should pass these laws strictly and punish those who break laws.

The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education- Einstein. What does he mean by that? And do you think he is correct?

Many people believe that formal education is the only way to learn and acquire knowledge. However, Albert Einstein had a different view on the process of learning and the concept of education. This essay is going to analyse his quote and compare the difference between education and learning.

Education is the formal way of giving knowledge by someone who has it to someone who does not acquired it yet. However, it seems like Einstein had a different view to process of learning and there is some fundamental truth behind his words. Firstly, education is biased and usually limited to knowledge of an educator. Secondly, education does not guarantee to give correct knowledge, it can be totally and utterly wrong, we can refer to an example when teacher taught students that our planet is flat. Finally, education gives narrowed down knowledge which was probably not enough for Albert Einstein.

Learning for Albert Einstein was holistic process, it involved not only understanding the basic things taught by teachers and professors, but rather much more deep research into the things he wanted to know. Therefore, his learning was hindered by formal education, not only that they gave him, probably wrong understandings of things, but most likely altered his path to knowledge. His findings were so innovative that contemporaries did not fully understand them even more so they didn’t think that he was genius, rather mad man.

In conclusion, conventional education tends to limit the knowledge and alter the process of learning, Einstein has realized it, and believed that education is stopping him from learning new things and maybe make new discoveries.

The ownership of cars should be restricted to one per family in order to reduce traffic congestion and pollution.  To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It might be true that private automobile owner reflect wealth status of individual. A number of private automobile has soared since a decade ago, yet it has produced traffic congestion and some pollution. Based on that issues, I totally agree if the number of own car per house is limited and I will discuss the reasonable reason in the following paragraphs.

The first, the overwhelming number of private automobile is not synergy with the large of roads. It becomes the primary factor of traffic jam since the roads being overcrowded, which contributing most of people spend their time in the road. The capital city of Indonesia, for instance, has occurred increase of traffic congestion annually due to individual car possess. In consequence, traffic jam is able to make late either for students or workers. Indeed, it takes up amount of their energy. Therefore, it is vital to strict the number of car in a house (a car per house) in order to reduce the traffic congestion.

Look at to the other consequence, the high number of car private contributes the amount of pollutions, particularly air pollution. As people know that gas emission from fuel are contain numerous gasses which is dominated by carbon dioxide. Breathing carbon dioxide up is eminent in case human’s organ damage. Moreover, pollution is capable of accelerating the human’s aging, making people seem like older than the actual age. So, limitation of car owner is the one of ways to make a fall the amount pollution.

To sum up, people are able to save their time effectively in the road if there is no traffic jam anymore, also they can enhance longevity of life. I absolutely agree if the government create the rules about restriction of number of car per home.

FOREIGN LANGUAGES SHOULD BE COMPULSORY IN THE PRIMARY SCHOOL. HOW FAR DO YOU AGREE WITH THE ABOVE STATEMENT?

Primary schooling is considered the most important basic level of learning as subjects taught in this curriculum plays a fundamental role in children’s future . Acknowledging this issue, many countries are starting to put a foreign language subject into their  curriculum, while other states still practice this subject in secondary stage of education. This essay will look at those critical reasons why should students start learning foreign language at primary school. It helps juveniles learn new language more effectively in their  young age and as lot of media around them in this globalising era are in foreign language.

The basic level of learning is regarded as a significant part of human’s learning abilities. We learned how to write in our native language from this stage and we then developed it at secondary and tertiary levels. The basics of these skills helps us  a lot in developing in other steps. Imagine if we started to learn our own language at secondary school, it would have been the most difficult to study or expand it, and it also would have been too late as at this time we are expected to learn more than a language at secondary level.

This basic skill of new language helps our juveniles learn the world easier such as learning other cultures. So far many knowledgeable sources are in English, for instance internet, television and visiting people. These things absolutely provide the children a great opportunity to learn new things. More over, with this second language skill, the young kids can go and continue their secondary school abroad.

In conclusion, studying a new language at primary school is very necessary in this globalising world. It helps young students to have more chances to communicate and learn outside their  cultures, opinions and knowledge.

Other Essays 1 ) In recent years, the proportion of the crimes committed by youngsters is on the rise. Discuss causes to this problem and suggest solutions.

It is irrefutable fact that crime committed by youngsters is increasing alarmingly around the globe. In this case, in many countries, juvenile delinquency has become a topical issue. This essay will examine the substantial factors which are playing there predominating role to increase of juvenile delinquency before outlining appropriate measure to cope.

In this modern era, many technological advancements have been taken place in various areas for daily use that have given numerous benefits to the people around the globe. There are, however, plenty of significant drawbacks that have hampered the people lives.

There is no doubt, the invented products have provided considerable benefits to the people. These devices, to illustrate, the smartphones to send the mail; laptop to deliver the marketing presentation, and to transact the financial transactions have made their life much easier and convenient than earlier.

In stark contrast to this, there are also negative effects of this technology. One of the major effects is, people have become over dependent on communication devices such as smartphones, tablets, and palmtops. They are using these devices in large amounts which have made them less sociable and less active. 1. Extreme sports, sky-diving, bungee-jumping, risky pursuits, the real dangers of various high-risk pursuits, turning extreme sports into a multi-billion dollar global industry, parachuting, numerous fatal accidents, daredevils, scuba-diving, marathon running, Over the past decade, extreme sports have become extremely popular. And so have extreme injuries. Between 2000 and 2011, more than four million injuries were attributed to extreme sports. and some kids try to emulate his tricks

Extreme sports bring excitement and thrill. The daring participants say extreme sports are all about the thrill and the sense of accomplishment they get. They’re climbing higher, jumping farther and moving faster, all in the name of personal glory. Still, when things go wrong, they pay a heavy price. Humans aren’t supposed to fly

2 .Packaging ensures that people can buy and use products when they want them, in good condition and with little wastage. However, many people think some goods have too much packaging. Snacks intended to be eaten on the move are an example of products where the consumer could easily assemble the components him/herself without the need for packaging.

The packaged goods industry is highly competitive, and packaging manufacturers, packaged goods producers and retailers are all under pressure to come up with new and better packaging solutions. No business wants to spend more on packaging than it has to and the fewer resources the packaging needs, the lower its cost.

Also, companies see to have gone overboard on packaging – they put food in trays, inside a box, inside a plastic container with with cardboard wrap around to explain what it is. For instance, MacDonalds is the first to over-package their food and encourage people to eat while walking – hence they throw it on the street.

Success in any area of life never happens in a complete vacuum. Often it is just as much dependent on an individual’s will-power and intelligence as it is on their environment and outside circumstances. To find happiness and success, you therefore need to pay attention and take some control over the type of environments you are surrounding yourself in on a daily basis; even the strongest and brightest of minds will find it difficult to achieve their goals if they are in a completely wrong environment for them. This is because every aspect of your external life has some influence over your internal thoughts and behaviors, especially the people you surround yourself with on a daily basis, and the type of places where you spend most of your time.

The first main aspect of our environment that influences our success is the people we surround ourselves with on a daily basis. For example, surrounding yourself with friends who are more self-disciplined can also help you become more self-disciplined. This is just one of many examples of how our social network can have an influence over our own behavior and goal-seeking.It fits well with other research that shows if you hang around people who are obese and unhealthy, it’s more likely you will become obese and unhealthy. And if you hang around with people who are lazy and don’t study for class, it’s likely you’ll end up with similar grades as them too. The second main aspect of our environment that influences our success is the places we spend most of our time at.For example, one important factor that has shown to increase productivity and happiness is giving people some freedom to design their own workplace.Taking ownership over where you spend your time allows you to choose an environment that motivates and inspires you. A good environment for success should keep your senses stimulated and awake while you work on your goals, while not being too distracting. At the end of the day, you can’t meet your full potential for success unless you find an environment that brings out the very best in you.

4.Climate Change/Global Warming But what really is the proper role for individuals and institutions in addressing climate change? An immediate and natural response may be that everyone should do their part

Decisions affecting carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, for example, are made primarily by companies and consumers. This includes decisions by companies about how to produce electricity, as well as thousands of other goods and services; and decisions by consumers regarding what to buy, how to transport themselves, and how to keep their homes warm, cool, and light.

In order to effectively address global warming, we must significantly reduce the amount of heat-trapping emissions we are putting into the atmosphere. As individuals, we can help by taking action to reduce our personal carbon emissions. But to fully address the threat of global warming, we must demand action from our elected leaders to support and implement a comprehensive set of climate solutions:

Expand the use of renewable energy and transform our energy system to a cleaner one

Place limits on the amount of carbon that polluters are allowed to emit.

Build a clean energy economy by investing in efficient energy technologies, industries, and approaches.

Reduce tropical deforestation and its associated global warming emissions.

5.Television

1.Television is now playing a very important role in our lives.

2. Television is not only a convenient source of entertainment, but also a comparative cheap one.

3. Television keeps you informed about current events. It allows you to follow the latest developments in science and politics.

4. Many television programs introduce people to things they never thought of before and have never heard of before.

5. Television has been good company to those who do not work, like housewives, lonely old people, etc.

6. People all around the world are no longer distant and isolated from each other.

7.It brings most distant countries and the strangest customs right into your living room.

8. Compared with radio, everything on television is more lifelike, vivid, and real.

9. Television may be a vital factor in holding a family together.

10. Television keeps people informed of the news and weather. disasters like floods, winds, etc.

Disadvantages

1.Television is a great time waster.

2. Television takes up too much of our time.

3.We no longer have enough time for hobbies, entertaining activities.

4.Other outside amusements like theaters, movies, sports, etc get ignored.

5. People have grown addicted to television, often neglecting the necessary and more important things like meals, sleep, and even work.

6. The more the viewer watches television, the lazier they become. The TV glues them to the set instead of allowing them to go out.

7. Television prevents people from communicating with each other.

8.It has done much harm to the relationship between family members.

9. Families sit and watch television at dinner instead of talking with each other

6.Employee’s opinion

The solid foundation of any successful company is its people. Employees represent a source of knowledge and ideas, but oftentimes that resource remains untapped. Involving employees in the decision-making process not only empowers them to contribute to the success of an organization, but also saves the company time and money. It also increases productivity and reduces outsourcing

Improving Morale-Actively engaging workers in the decision-making process increases overall company morale. Employees understand their ideas are an important contribution to the company, and gives them the power to influence the outcome of their work, leading to increased job satisfaction and a positive attitude.

Internal Resources-Using employees in the decision-making process, rather than outsourcing, saves money, time, and offers the company long-term reliable assistance from those who know the corporation well.

Teamwork-Participation in the decision-making process gives each employee the opportunity to voice their opinions, and to share their knowledge with others. While this improves the relationship between manager and employee, it also encourages a strong sense of teamwork among workers.

7.Environment Deforestation- Deforestation is a rapidly-growing problem in areas like Africa, Central and South America. Not only does this mean less trees, less cleansing oxygen, and the displacement of the wildlife, deforestation means a dangerous decrease in a natural fighter of global warming –

Pollution-Pollution comes in many forms and no matter where you live. The main reason for why pollution has gotten so out of control is that our desire for more “stuff” has led to our old stuff being thrown away at an alarming and unnecessary rate. This need for manufactured items also leads to the air and water pollution emitted from factories, which in many countries are highly unregulated.

Loss of Biodiversity-Each species has a role in our planet, and when one dies out, it can have catastrophic effects on the rest of us. Currently, many other animals are in danger of becoming extinct, either from being forced out of their habitats by man or by climate change.

6. Written assessment

Writing is an essential skill that allows people to participate fully in today’s society and to contribute to the economy. It is a complex process that is essential for extending learning, thinking and communicating with others

The assessment of writing is central to the process of effective teaching and learning of writing This, in turn, can enable greater understanding of the requirements needed to support their learning.

It allows students to effectively convey thoughts and ideas through text is classroom-based writing assessment. Such formative assessments allow teachers to gauge the effectiveness of their instructional practices, modify instruction as needed, and provide students with feedback on writing strengths and areas in need of further development. 7.Shopping mall

Mall culture has become big business, as shopping malls have evolved into multi-storied structures housing a large number of stores that sell diverse products and services. Shopping malls house a collection of retail stores and restaurants

Parking is one of the major hassles for people who go into the city to shop. Shopping at malls eliminates this problem, because parking is provided either free of charge or for a nominal fee. This makes it advantageous for people to choose to shop at a mall rather than a single store. Families who choose to visit a mall on the weekend or holiday for a family outing find it to be a more convenient option mainly because parking is provided

Visiting a mall is advantageous because of the numerous stores housed in one complex. Groceries, clothes, shoes, reading material, food courts, cinemas and entertainment arcades are available in one place. Malls make great meeting places for friends to catch up over coffee at a café or a meal at the food court.

One of the major disadvantages – These include excessive crowding, especially on weekends and holidays. Crowded aisles and stores make shopping very difficult; people often end up forgetting items they needed to buy. Parking can also be a problem when the mall is very crowded.

The temptation to browse is always present, and browsing often leads to buying things that are not needed. Keeping to a monthly budget becomes increasingly difficult every time you visit the mall. With all the sales and special offers intended to tempt buyers, saying “no” becomes very hard.————————

8. Work-Life Balance

If people don’t have time to relax and recharge, their ability to do their job decreases and their performance level suffers.•

Work-life balance is about creating and maintaining supportive and healthy work environments, which will enable employees to have balance between work and personal responsibilities and thus strengthen employee loyalty and productivity.

Today’s workers have many competing responsibilities such as work, children, housework, volunteering, spouse and elderly parent care and this places stress on individuals, families and the communities in which they reside. Work-life conflict is a serious problem that impacts workers, their employers and communities.

Long work hours and highly stressful jobs not only hamper employees’ ability to harmonize work and family life but also are associated with health risks, such as increased smoking and alcohol consumption, weight gain and depression. Work life conflict has been associated with numerous physical and mental health implications.

Work-life conflict has negative implications on family life. Their work responsibilities interfere with their ability to fulfill their responsibilities at home.

A growing number of employers have implemented wellness programs or pay for their employees’ gym membership as part of a benefits package. Some companies invite fitness trainers or yoga instructors into the office to hold lunchtime sessions.

Companies that have implemented work-life balance programs recognize that employee welfare affects the “bottom line” of the business. Finally, self-management is important; people need to control their own behaviour and expectations regarding work-life balance.

4. Nowadays, the mass media including TV, radio and newspaper have become the essential part of our lives. What is your opinion? 5. The mass media including TV, Radio and newspaper influence our society and shape our opinions and characters. What is your opinion?

Newspapers, radio, television, and the Internet—including e-mail and blogs—are significantly influential on our society, especially in affirming attitudes and opinions that are already established. The news media focus the public’s attention on certain personalities and issues, leading many people to form opinions about them.

Mass media sets the news agenda, which shapes the public’s views on what is newsworthy and important.

It is a system used by advertisement agencies and media outlets, such as television channels and radio stations to “convince” their audiences to do or act in a certain way. It appeals to the vulnerability of the desired target .

For instance, a famous person or persons Who are recognized and admired by whole communities. These individuals have the “Power” to convince their followers or fans into taking any kind of action or decision. Therefore, these famous people usually are linked or work for some media outlet and are used, to influence the community accordingly.///////////// The media has changed significantly in the past years. Because of the availability of television and radio all populations and classes have been exposed to various types of media. The Internet has provided an even newer media resource. The majority of people live in a very fast paced society. They have very little time for reading and exploring the truth of information. The producers of media publication are aware of this and use the media to influence public choice and opinion. The problem lies in that many people are gullible and society as a whole is easily influenced by the media representations. The media also responds to public demand and provides the information that the public craves. A positive aspect of the media’s bias has been that it has facilitated change in people’s perception of races in a positive manner, exposed people to other cultures, made people aware of environmental needs, and the needs of people far away. While there can also be negative implications the media also has to reflect the public’s point of view. With the growing representation of Hispanics, African Americans, and other minority groups, the media is under pressure to present them in a more positive light.

Can legislation reform human nature?

Can laws change people’s mind?

As far as I am concerned, laws can only prohibit people’s evil behaviour by the force of government power, ensure the freedom of its people and help maintaining the peace and stability of the society. They can not operate on people’s minds.

Moral judgment is motivated largely by avoidance of punishment. Individuals develop an understanding that rules are necessary to aintain social order, and are motivated by what they think people expect of them. Thus, people perceive an obligation to uphold the law to avoid the social disorder that would follow in the wake of others disobeying.

There are numerous disadvantages to getting married while still a student. “[Getting married in college] can create a greater problem when you are dependent on parents to support you. There is the probability of more tension on the part of both sets of parents.” Expecting your parents to continue paying your tuition as though you were still a child once you have chosen to take on the very adult responsibility of marriage can also create tension.

Another reason to wait is the time constraint on enrolled newlyweds. Balancing time at home, adjusting to a new life and spending time on academics is a daunting task, regardless of how organized you are. Married college students are often left with not enough time to do housework, study or have couple time. Little time is left for each other so there’s less time to work on personal growth and the marriage.

The college marriage often results in restriction of college experiences, participation in college functions and of relationships of college friends.

Not only that, but she also finds that marriage affects academics. “There is often a drop in grades due to added responsibilities or having to take on a full time job. The distractions that marriage brings are endless and normal, but if your current schedule and goals make marriage too much to handle on top of your college life, then the smartest decision may be taking care of your college career before saying your vows.

Sometimes the engaged couple isn’t actually ready to decide what they want out of life (or marriage) yet. College is a time of growth and maturing. Getting married too soon can cut growth and maturation short. “Most students need some time to be self-supporting, living on your own and making decisions as you mature. An early marriage can prevent students from ever getting that time to mature.

In today’s world, where just about everything is more convenient and accessible due to advances in technology across almost all sectors, it may seem as though it’s a misnomer to even mention any disadvantages of technological advances. However, despite how far technology has taken humans and no matter how convenient it may make things, there are some disadvantages accompanying this level of access.

Technology advances show people a more efficient way to do things, and these processes get results. For example, education has been greatly advanced by the technological advances of computers. Students are able to learn on a global scale without ever leaving their classrooms. Agricultural processes that once required dozens upon dozens of human workers can now be automated, thanks to advances in technology, which means cost-efficiency for farmers. Medical discoveries occur at a much more rapid rate, thanks to machines and computers that aid in the research process and allow for more intense educational research into medical matters. This results in cost savings for business owners, allowing them to invest in growth in other areas of the business, which contributes on a positive level to the economy as a whole.

The more advanced society becomes technologically, the more people begin to depend on computers and other forms of technology for everyday existence. This means that when a machine breaks or a computer crashes, humans become almost disabled until the problem is resolved. This kind of dependency on technology puts people at a distinct disadvantage, because they become less self-reliant.

At the same time, human workers retain less value, which is a disadvantage of technological advances. Because machines automate processes and do the work of 10 people with one computer, companies find they don’t need to employ as many people to get the job done. As machines and computers become even more advanced and efficient, this will continue to be a growing disadvantage of technology and an issue that has a global impact.

Now, more than ever, celebrities are extremely influential in the lives of teenagers. While there are certainly some positive role models for teens among today’s celebrities, there are also many who provide a decidedly negative influence. Teens who try to emulate these celebrities may fall victim to several different issues,

There include Drug abuse or drug addiction, Problems with alcohol and drinking heavily, Eating disorders and Low self-esteem and low self-confidence.

1) It seems like every day there are more and more stories and pictures on the Internet of the illicit activities of celebrities. Teens see these people partying, drinking alcohol or doing drugs, and they think they should too. This sends the message to teens that in order to have fun or be cool, you have to use these substances. Teens may begin to think that it is no big deal, and this can cause serious problems leading to and including drug and alcohol addictions, risk-taking behaviors, and even death.

2) Some of the most common problems that occur are issues with self-esteem for teens, especially teen girls. When a teen girl flips through her favorite fashion magazine, she is inundated with pictures and articles revolving around the erroneous belief that celebrities are perfect. The air-brushed pictures, workout and diet tips, and pin-thin models can cause body images issues for teens. In trying to make themselves look like the pictures that they see, teens can cause real damage to their bodies. Working out too much or not eating enough can lead to an eating disorder, such as anorexia or bulimia

It is evident how life has changed since technology has been introduced in the human life. When we think about technology mostly the first thing that comes to our mind is the image of a computer. Technological advancements such as computers have been designed and created with the only purpose to help humans and make their lives easier. Computers have become indispensable in any workplace where they are basically considered a compliment for people to help them on developing their activities. In fact, computers are the greatest invention of all time because they have multi-tasking features that can minimize your work, they can display and let you manipulate stored information, and they are used in almost all fields for any purpose.

First of all computers have multi-tasking features that can minimize the work you have to do. For example, computers avoid you having to calculate any result on doing math, the only thing you must do is to type the information needed and your work is done.

Secondly, computers can display and let you manipulate stored information. In other words, you don’t need to use paper in order to store any information on shelves. You don’t even have to rewrite a whole paper because you did a mistake or you have to add more information to the written form. You can have as many files as you can in your computer and organize them the way you like it without having to use any extra material or space.

Finally, computers are used in almost all fields for any purpose such as entertainment, education, and any type of job. For example, you can use computers to play videogames, watch movies, listen to music or chat on the internet for entertainment. In education or any job you can use them for videoconferences, PowerPoint presentations or just using their basic features discussed in the first point.

Therefore computers are the greatest invention of all time because they reduce your time consumption on your activities, you can save your information and edit it anytime, and they let you do almost everything you need. Computers have become the most powerful tool ever created.

23. Communication has changed significantly in the last 10 yers. Disucss pros and cons impacts.

IT has not only brought the world closer together. Therefore, we can not only share information quickly and efficiently, but we can also bring down barriers of linguistic and geographic boundaries. The world has developed into a global village due to the help of information technology allowing to shares ideas and information with each other.

Communication has also become cheaper, quicker, and more efficient. We can now communicate with anyone around the globe by simply text messaging them or sending them an email for an almost instantaneous response. The internet has also opened up face to face direct communication from different parts of the world thanks to the helps of video conferencing.

Bridging the cultural gap – Information technology has helped to bridge the cultural gap by helping people from different cultures to communicate with one another, and allow for the exchange of views and ideas, thus increasing awareness and reducing prejudice.

However, While information technology may have streamlined the business process it has also crated job redundancies, downsizing and outsourcing. This means that a lot of lower and middle level jobs have been done away with causing more people to become unemployed.

Privacy – Though information technology may have made communication quicker, easier and more convenient, it has also bought along privacy issues. Due to website and email hacking, people are now worried about their once private information becoming public knowledge.

Lack of job security – Industry experts believe that the internet has made job security a big issue as since technology keeps on changing with each day. This means that one has to be in a constant learning mode, if he or she wishes for their job to be secure.

Dominant culture – While information technology may have made the world a global village, it has also contributed to one culture dominating another weaker one. For example it is now argued that US influences how most young teenagers all over the world now act, dress and behave. Languages too have become overshadowed, with English becoming the primary mode of communication for business and everything else.

There are several benefits of learning a new language, the latest being it promotes a better understanding (and acceptance of) psychology and diversity.

1.Bilingualism delays Alzheimer’s disease by as much as five .

2. Being bilingual can lead to improved listening skills, since the brain has to work harder to distinguish different types of sounds in two or more languages

3. Babies brought up in a bilingual environment have stronger working memories than those brought up with only one language

This means they are better at mental calculation, reading and many other vital skills.

4. Better multi-tasking-Bilingual people can switch from one task to another more quickly. They show more cognitive flexibility and find it easier to adapt to unexpected circumstances.

5. Learning a new language can literally change the way you see the world.Learning Japanese, for example, which has basic terms for light and dark blue, may help you perceive the colour in different ways

People used to think that learning two languages created confusion in the mind. Some studies did seem to back up the idea that learning two languages could be problematic; early researchers noted that bilingual people tended to have smaller vocabularies and slower access to words.

In recent decades, low cost airfare has made international travel easier and many countries have, therefore, developed their tourism industries into key sectors of their economies. While it is clear tourism brings obvious benefits to the countries that host tourists, it is also true to say it may bring disadvantages as well.

Undoubtedly, there are significant benefits that tourism brings to a country. First, a thriving tourist industry implies an increasing need for a variety of services such as hotels, transport, restaurants, and entertainment. This results in a considerable number of jobs being created for people who lack a college education and also the development of the infrastructure needed to accommodate visitors. Moreover, tourism is a “green” industry that, unlike factories, generates a low level of pollution. In fact, because beautiful natural landscapes are often places that tourists come to see, a country will often be sure to maintain the landscape in order to keep it attractive for tourists.

Despite the benefits, there are aspects of tourism that may prove harmful to a country. For instance, a country may suffer from the loss of their traditional culture. This is caused by people in a country changing their lifestyle, customs, and language in order to more effectively serve visitors or because they become influenced by foreign countries. This can cause stress in a traditional society and could even lead to animosity towards tourists. In addition, because tourists often carry expensive objects like cameras and are unaware of their surroundings, they make good targets for theft. Crime also increases as a result of the increases in drugs and prostitution that caters to some vacationers.

In summary, global tourism is greatly beneficial to an economy and environment of a country. However, it can be detrimental in several ways. To my way of thinking, a country should seek to develop its tourism industry because it can bring steady jobs to many people without their need for higher education and without the risk of environmental damages.

23. The only thing that interfere with my leaning is my education- Einstein. What does he mean by that? And do you think he is correct?

Formal education tends to limit the thinking you can do about a subject. For instance, you know and accept that the Law of Gravity is valid. You’ve been taught that in school. Therefore, you are not going to waste your time trying to get around it.

Most engineers today are taught that something must be done THIS way. By the time they get their degrees, they can’t see simple solutions to complex problems. That’s when you need someone with no degree and not a lot of knowledge about engineering that you can bounce the problem off of. In explaining it to them and dealing with their offhand suggestions, you often get the simple solution you couldn’t see.

Einstein recognized that education also limits the mind and felt he learned more by doing research without the confines of the degree.

Einstein was a genius, which back in the old days many never really understood what a genius really was! So for him to say, the only thing that interferes with my learning is my education! He was actually saying, he was a lot smarter then any education that could be taught to him back in them days!

So he had to more or less, self educate on his own to be able to be smarter then he already was! Many people saw him as off the wall, sort of speak! Because of the fact he was a lot more smarter then anyone really knew! So instead of him being looked up to because of being so smart, he was more like an out cast to most! Mostly because of his odd behavior, and weirdness and very much misunderstood! He plainly just didn’t fit in!

I guess you could say, very few people tried to get to know him at his level and partly no one could possibly even think at his level! So he to many was just a strange person! But the fact was he was a genius and he was misunderstood back in them days! Geniuses today are honored and almost worshiped and there is today, way higher education levels in place now for people that are geniuses!

Could you imagine if education would have been so high level to teach Einstein to the levels he was urning for! He would have really accomplished way more then what he did!

And may have changed the world for a lot better then what it is today! Maybe that’s why education is such a high priority in todays world, so that everyone has a chance to be the next great Einstein, or even greater! If education hadn’t changed from the old days, man would have never made it to the moon!

Education has to always change for the better, may be at times not fast enough, but if it didn’t life will never get better! If education was still the same as back in Einstein days, Medical wouldn’t be where it is today and millions would have all died every year! Medical is the biggest resource for longer life and more quality of life! Without it, people would be dieing at younger ages and from many diseases that wouldn’t be cureable without all the medical education we all have today!

Einstein would have actually fit in better in todays world then he did back in the old days, you could say he was born in the wrong Century, so it would be like taking a well educated person today and put them back into Einstein days of life! The person would feel completely out of place and most likely wouldn’t be able to even cope in that kind of life!

So what Einstein was saying is, he was being taught 6 th grade education when he was actually like the highest college degree grad in are time of life! And he wanted higher education then the highest college education! But back in his days 6 th grade education is all they had as highest education to offer!

The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.

Education in the 21st Century: The Challenge

‘The illiterate of the twenty-first century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn.’ – Alvin Toffler

How effective is the education that your child receives? As one of the world’s wealthy countries, we could reasonably expect that our education system would rate as one of the world’s best, and certainly in terms of spending on education, Singapore’s record is very good, but it seems that our report card – along with those of all major developed countries – should read: ‘Must do better’.

Around the world, education systems are struggling to remain relevant in a changing world. Far too often they are failing to prepare students for life in the ‘new economies’.

So, what does all this mean to parents, struggling to make the right educational choices for their children? And what does it mean to a nation like Singapore at the beginning of the twenty-first century?

For the individual, there is no way to over-estimate the importance of education.

Many may score well in basic literacy and number skills but performance even in these areas is often based on the wealth and social position of the students. And besides, education suited for the new millennium is not the same as in previous decades. The new economy, brought about by the huge changes of the communications revolution, means that the skills which will be valued are far more wide-ranging than the ‘three Rs’ of the past. Literacy and number skills are still vital, but the successful person in the future will be the person with wide-ranging abilities – the person ‘able to navigate change and diversity, learn-as-they-go, solve problems, collaborate and be flexible and creative.’ (New Learning: A Charter for Australian Education – Australian Council of Deans of Education (A.C.D.E.)

Creative teachers have understood this for decades, but education systems, are slow to adapt frustrating most attempts at meaningful evolution.

Education suited to our children’s needs must help them cope as individuals in a complex world. Experts predict that today’s students will be the first in history to face the prospect of working at ten – or more – different jobs during their working lives. They will need thinking and learning skills that are creative and flexible. Adaptability will be their most prized possession.

In reality, there is a danger, that outside pressures and the time constraints of an over-crowded curriculum distract us from the traditional purpose of good schooling, which is to turn out a well-rounded, decent human being.

Britain’s Prime Minister, Tony Blair, made his intentions clear in 1997, with his statement of priorities: ‘Education, Education, Education.’ Only last year Singapore’s minister for education, Teo Chee Hean said, ‘education is about moulding the future of our nation’. He was right of course, but he might also have said, ‘education is about moulding the future of each individual.’

The challenge for each of us is to find the method of learning best suited to the demands of that future, and this will be the subject of my articles over the coming weeks.

On the day of the exam are we required to type out our answer or must we write it down on paper? I have been preparing for the PTE examination online and I don’t know about this. Thank you

You can scribble main points on the erasable note pad provided by the exam center and then once you have the points start typing your essay.

In all online exams, we have to type out our answers directly on the computer provided at the test center. Same is the case with PTE online exam.

Media is a form of communication around the world. It is divided into two categories: Print media and Electronic media. It influences the society in both positive and negative ways. In this essay, I will shed a light on the effects of media in the forthcoming paragraphs followed by a reasoned conclusion.

To commence with, print media such as newspapers have a deep impact on the mind of people who read it daily in the morning. On the beneficiary side, it is a great source of knowledge about geographical and scientific facts about the world. It adds on the general knowledge about current affairs of the world. It, further, plays an important role as a source of entertainment. For instance, Electronic media like Television and Radio broadcast different channels which assist a person to refresh their moods. Apart from this, it provides knowledge about distinct cultures, social and political systems of the world.

On the flip side, it has some negative influences on the society. Foremost among all is that students and youngsters waste their precious time in browsing different websites. Moreover, various TV channels and internet sites show vulgar pictures and scenes which destroy the moral values and due to these sex crimes are on the peak. Violence containing scenes produce the negative effects on the young people and they intimate the similar scenes of the movies in real life which, sometimes, cause fatal accidents.

To conclude, it can be said that one cannot deny from the fact that mass media in today’s life has become an addiction in human life. Therefore, media concerned authorities should try to broadcast such programs, which can build up the moral values in the society.

kindly check and remark it

In most parts of the world, the popularity of fast food is growing at a considerable rate. Given the fact that today’s generation is always busy, most people consider fast food as a convenient source of food. Fast food can be prepared and served within a very short time, and thus is more convenient for those people who tend to be busy or single peoples who are not willing to cook. Although, fast foods has got bunch of advantages, it has as well some negative effects which should be carefully considered.

Undoubtedly, fast food saves much or humans’ time. Unlike fast foods, home cooked meals required time for shopping as well as washing the utensils. Such challenges do not exist when a person opts for fast food. Despite its merits to human life, fast food poses several health hazards to people. Fast food is rich in fats, salts, artificial substances and oils which increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Well, obesity is also on the rise as a result of growing popularity of fast food. Although the human body definitely requires these ingredients, the amount of such substances in fast food is too high. Further, the cooking method of most fast meals involves frying which destroys most of important nutrients to human health.

The adverse effects of the sugars, chemicals, salts and fats in fast food are further enhanced by the people’s sedentary lifestyle. Despite consuming many calories from fast food, people do not do enough exercises to burn these calories which make them more obese.

The new topic which is not in the list here is:

Life teaches us the lessons and such lessons are key to the success. How far do you agree with this statement and do you think formal education is important or people should rely on their life experiences.

Thanks for the essays got an 82 in writing. Got the below essays recently:

Newly addesd essay :

“Do you think design of buildings have positive or negative impact. Which way it can effect on work and live?”

did anyone take exam this month? if so please update essay topics

In the present world, the architecture of a building can or cannot be beneficial for its residents. Some people may be in accord with the conception that design of the house impacts the life of humans positively, while others may differ. In my opinion, the influence of design may or may not be advantageous to the people residing in it and requires further deliberation.

To commence with, the construction and plan of a building can be fruitful for the living beings there. The reason is that a good and sound design encourages proper ventilation and natural light in the house which helps to promote good health of the people. For example, north or east facing houses as per Vastu science, are considered to be prosperous. Hence, the correct planning of the house is of the utmost importance for the residing habitats.

On the flip side, a disaster in the architecture of a building can be dreadful for the owner. To put it in another way, a fault in the design can lead to various health and mental problems for the occupants. For instance, people often avoid south-west facing villas because they face the sun at noon which causes overheating and harm the health. Finally, it is clear from the above explanation that the wrong plan is not beneficial for the residents.

In conclusion, the constructional planning of a residence decides its fate, whether it will benefit the owner or not. Thus, the influence of design is either profitable or not for the people living in it.

13 February: PTE Essay Topic – International travel and tourism make people prejudiced rather than broad-minded.

' src=

International travel and tourism make people prejudiced rather than broad-minded.

Q- International travel and tourism make people prejudiced rather than broad-minded. What are its causes and what measures can be taken to solve this problem?

A- People typically travel abroad to discover diverse cultures in various places. However, some claim that rather than broadening their perspectives, travelling abroad only serves to reinforce their prejudices. Before putting up my suggestions, I’d like to evaluate this complex phenomenon.

In my opinion, a huge number of things contribute to this unusual circumstance. First and foremost, as residents of industrialised nations are constantly proud of their outstanding traditions, they are much more inclined to struggle to fit in with a less developed nation. They are presumably dissatisfied with the surroundings, cuisine, weather, and other aspects of the area. Even worse, in host nations where locals are hesitant to accept visitors, certain conflicts between tourists and indigenous people might quickly arise. Furthermore, it is logical that individuals from various countries have different perspectives about different lifestyles, faiths, and other aspects of daily life. Visitors’ misunderstandings about the host country are made worse by the stark disparities. For instance, Chinese tourists may anger their waiters in western nations when they are unaware that they are expected to leave gratuities.

It is evident that having a thorough understanding of the nations they will be seeing before taking off gives them the opportunity to have a more fulfilling trip. Individuals might look for a more detailed introduction to the countries with the aid of computers. They shouldn’t believe the overly dramatic marketing. They can instead consult their pals who have already been there for extra suggestions. They should be psychologically and tolerant enough to deal with the negative aspects of the host nations.

To sum up, everyone wants to take a fantastic vacation overseas to enjoy their free time. However, some annoying details and occurrences are unavoidable. As a result, we should focus on the positive aspects of travel rather than developing stereotypes.
