However, once you master the art of writing, you will gain another valuable skill that may greatly help in the future. Remember that writing helps to focus, improves critical thinking and allows paying attention even to the slightest details.

Tips on Writing a Military Essay

If you want to know how to write a military essay, you should always have a clear action plan. Luckily, for military specialists, it is rather simple to structure information and follow a particular format.

  • You should always start with choosing a topic. It must be appropriate to the field and should also be unique to differ you from other candidates.

Tutoriage understands that you can be tempted to download a sample online or at least to copy some of its parts because it greatly saves time. But it is always better to write an essay from scratch because you will deliver original thoughts and eventually this will contribute to developing new skills.

And you won’t risk being accused of plagiarism!

  • While some applicants prefer writing about different historical events that concern battles, others prefer focusing on the analysis of the future. If you choose the second path, it will be a winning solution. In such a way you will show the admission committee that you have tactical and analytical skills and can think about the things in the long run.
  • However, you need to make sure that everything you write is backed with arguments and reliable data because this will impact your essay. Once you choose a topic, you should proceed with structuring.
  • Remember that a military essay should follow a particular format based on the requirements of the chosen academy. That is why your paper should have an appropriate structure (this is when most applicants make mistakes).
  • If you have doubts on how to structure your essay or what formatting style to apply, it is better to contact the academy and ask for particular requirements.
  • The next step is writing itself. You should start with an introductory section that would catch the attention of the officers and make them want to go on reading. Try sticking to your natural style and never operate information that you don’t know.
  • Don’t be afraid to admit that you have weaknesses. This will show officers that you want to learn and work harder to achieve all of your goals. Remember that trying to make a positive impression may only do you harm.

Things to Keep in Mind

Military essays come in different forms: appearance theses, accountability essays, and argumentative works. When you choose a particular form you need to be ready for a particular content that would reflect the chosen form in the best light.

In addition, you will need to conduct thorough research on the topic. Make sure you don’t stick to a single source: go to a library, get access to online databases and get as much information as possible. Use books, journal and newspaper articles, speeches and presentations. Just make sure that all of the sources are credible and come from reputable authors.

Unfortunately, it is rather difficult to write a military essay and you will need to put more effort into writing a book review or a laboratory work for school.

After finishing your military essay you need to read it attentively several times. Be ready to discover multiple mistakes in words and phrases. There will also be sentences or even paragraphs that should be changed.

Don’t worry, there are multiple literary tools that allow adding new information, rewriting sections and even writing some parts anew. Even experienced writers rarely publish their first draft!

Once you finish the paper, check it on any spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes. If there are any parts that you doubt, it is better to start proofreading and editing right after you finish the first draft. If not, put it aside and take some time to rest. This will help you to give the essay a fresh look.

If you doubt whether your proofreading skills are good enough, you can ask others to read your military essay and to correct mistakes. It would be better if the person you choose is also interested in military service or has already written a similar essay.

If you don’t want to rewrite the biggest part of your work, you can get familiar with examples of military essays online in advance. With their help, you’ll get familiar with the common structure of the assignment and will see what elements your thesis or body paragraphs should include.

Then you should just come up with a personal format that would make your work unique and original.

How to write a military essay

Writing a military essay can be a challenging task, but with the right approach and preparation, it can also be a rewarding and fulfilling experience. In this guide, we will provide you with a concise and useful framework for writing a good military essay.

Step 1: Understand the Assignment

The first step in writing a good military essay is to understand the assignment. Carefully read the instructions provided by your instructor or supervisor, and make sure that you understand the requirements and expectations for the essay. This will help you to stay focused and on track as you begin the writing process.

Step 2: Choose a Topic

Once you understand the assignment, it’s time to choose a topic. Look for a topic that is both interesting to you and relevant to the military. You might consider focusing on a particular battle, operation, or conflict, or you could explore a broader topic related to military strategy, tactics, or leadership.

Step 3: Conduct Research

Before you begin writing, it’s important to conduct research on your chosen topic. This will help you to develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter, and will provide you with the information you need to support your arguments and conclusions.

Some sources of information you might consider include books, journal articles, government reports, and interviews with military experts or veterans. Be sure to evaluate your sources carefully, and use only reliable and trustworthy information.

Step 4: Develop a Thesis Statement

With your research in hand, it’s time to develop a thesis statement. Your thesis statement should be a clear and concise statement that summarizes the main argument or point of your essay. It should be supported by the evidence you have gathered in your research, and should be written in a way that is easy to understand and persuasive.

Step 5: Organize Your Thoughts

Once you have developed your thesis statement, it’s time to organize your thoughts. Create an outline for your essay that includes an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph should focus on a single idea or argument, and should be supported by evidence from your research.

Step 6: Write the Introduction

The introduction is the first paragraph of your essay, and should be written in a way that grabs the reader’s attention and sets the stage for the rest of the essay. It should provide some background information on your topic, and should include your thesis statement.

Step 7: Write the Body Paragraphs

The body paragraphs are the meat of your essay, and should focus on supporting your thesis statement. Each paragraph should begin with a clear topic sentence that summarizes the main point or argument of the paragraph. Use evidence from your research to support your arguments, and be sure to cite your sources correctly.

Step 8: Write the Conclusion

The conclusion is the final paragraph of your essay, and should summarize the main points you have made in your essay. It should restate your thesis statement in a new way, and should leave the reader with a clear sense of the significance of your research and arguments.

Step 9: Edit and Revise

Once you have written your essay, it’s time to edit and revise. Carefully read through your essay, looking for errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Check to make sure that your arguments are clear and persuasive, and that your evidence is properly cited. Make any necessary changes or corrections, and then read through your essay again to make sure that it is polished and well-written.

Step 10: Submit Your Essay

Once you have edited and revised your essay, it’s time to submit it. Be sure to follow the instructions provided by your instructor or supervisor for submitting your essay, and be sure to meet any deadlines that have been set.

How To Write an Essay About Army SHARP

Mastering the art of writing an essay on army sharp.

Writing an essay on the Army's Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) program can be a challenging yet rewarding task. This article will guide you through the process in a structured manner, with each paragraph focusing on a key aspect of the essay-writing process.

Understanding the Topic

The first step in writing your essay is to thoroughly understand what the Army SHARP program entails. Research its history, purpose, and the current strategies employed by the Army to combat sexual harassment and assault. It's important to comprehend the program's role in maintaining morale, readiness, and the overall welfare of soldiers. This foundational knowledge will serve as the backbone of your essay.

Gathering Information

Once you have a solid understanding of SHARP, the next step is to gather information. Look for official Army publications, scholarly articles, and credible news sources that discuss the program's effectiveness, challenges, and any recent updates or changes. Pay attention to statistics, case studies, and testimonials, as these can provide powerful evidence for your arguments. Remember to note down all your sources for citation purposes.

Formulating a Thesis

With your research in hand, formulate a clear thesis statement. This statement should succinctly summarize your perspective on the Army SHARP program. For instance, your thesis could focus on the program's success in raising awareness and reducing incidents of sexual harassment and assault, or it could critique aspects that need improvement. Your thesis will guide the direction and arguments of your essay.

Structuring the Essay

Divide your essay into clear, logical sections. Start with an introduction that introduces the SHARP program and presents your thesis statement. Follow with body paragraphs that each tackle a specific aspect of the program, such as its history, implementation, successes, and areas needing improvement. Use evidence from your research to support your points. Conclude with a summary of your main arguments and restate your thesis, perhaps suggesting areas for future research or program enhancement.

Writing and Revision

Write your essay with clarity and precision. Use formal language appropriate for an academic essay and avoid jargon unless you explain it. Once your first draft is complete, revise it for coherence, logical flow, and adherence to your thesis. Check for grammatical and spelling errors, and ensure that all sources are properly cited.

Finalizing the Essay

In the final stage, review your essay to ensure that it presents a well-argued, informative, and coherent view of the Army SHARP program. A thesis statement is a sentence that sums up the central point of your paper or essay . It usually comes near the end of your introduction .

Your thesis will look a bit different depending on the type of essay you’re writing. But the thesis statement should always clearly state the main idea you want to get across. Everything else in your essay should relate back to this idea.

You can write your thesis statement by following four simple steps:

  • Start with a question
  • Write your initial answer
  • Develop your answer
  • Refine your thesis statement

A thesis statement summarizes the central points of your essay. It is a signpost telling the reader what the essay will argue and why.

The best thesis statements are:

  • Concise: A good thesis statement is short and sweet—don’t use more words than necessary. State your point clearly and directly in one or two sentences.
  • Contentious: Your thesis shouldn’t be a simple statement of fact that everyone already knows. A good thesis statement is a claim that requires further evidence or analysis to back it up.
  • Coherent: Everything mentioned in your thesis statement must be supported and explained in the rest of your paper.

The thesis statement generally appears at the end of your essay introduction or research paper introduction .

The spread of the internet has had a world-changing effect, not least on the world of education. The use of the internet in academic contexts and among young people more generally is hotly debated. For many who did not grow up with this technology, its effects seem alarming and potentially harmful. This concern, while understandable, is misguided. The negatives of internet use are outweighed by its many benefits for education: the internet facilitates easier access to information, exposure to different perspectives, and a flexible learning environment for both students and teachers.

You should come up with an initial thesis, sometimes called a working thesis , early in the writing process . As soon as you’ve decided on your essay topic , you need to work out what you want to say about it—a clear thesis will give your essay direction and structure.

You might already have a question in your assignment, but if not, try to come up with your own. What would you like to find out or decide about your topic?

For example, you might ask:

After some initial research, you can formulate a tentative answer to this question. At this stage it can be simple, and it should guide the research process and writing process .

Prevent plagiarism. Run a free check.

Now you need to consider why this is your answer and how you will convince your reader to agree with you. As you read more about your topic and begin writing, your answer should get more detailed.

In your essay about the internet and education, the thesis states your position and sketches out the key arguments you’ll use to support it.

The negatives of internet use are outweighed by its many benefits for education because it facilitates easier access to information.

In your essay about braille, the thesis statement summarizes the key historical development that you’ll explain.

The invention of braille in the 19th century transformed the lives of blind people, allowing them to participate more actively in public life.

A strong thesis statement should tell the reader:

  • Why you hold this position
  • What they’ll learn from your essay
  • The key points of your argument or narrative

The final thesis statement doesn’t just state your position, but summarizes your overall argument or the entire topic you’re going to explain. To strengthen a weak thesis statement, it can help to consider the broader context of your topic.

These examples are more specific and show that you’ll explore your topic in depth.

Your thesis statement should match the goals of your essay, which vary depending on the type of essay you’re writing:

  • In an argumentative essay , your thesis statement should take a strong position. Your aim in the essay is to convince your reader of this thesis based on evidence and logical reasoning.
  • In an expository essay , you’ll aim to explain the facts of a topic or process. Your thesis statement doesn’t have to include a strong opinion in this case, but it should clearly state the central point you want to make, and mention the key elements you’ll explain.

A thesis statement is a sentence that sums up the central point of your paper or essay . Everything else you write should relate to this key idea.

The thesis statement is essential in any academic essay or research paper for two main reasons:

  • It gives your writing direction and focus.
  • It gives the reader a concise summary of your main point.

Without a clear thesis statement, an essay can end up rambling and unfocused, leaving your reader unsure of exactly what you want to say.

Follow these four steps to come up with a thesis statement :

  • Ask a question about your topic .
  • Write your initial answer.
  • Develop your answer by including reasons.
  • Refine your answer, adding more detail and nuance.

The thesis statement should be placed at the end of your essay introduction .
