We have also compiled a list of CBSE Essays for students to boost their essay-writing skills. It contains sample essays on several topics, which will give ideas to students and help them write effective essays.

Advantages of the Internet

The role of the internet in the modern world cannot be understated. Nowadays, every person uses the internet to do their daily tasks. People in different fields like offices, schools, colleges, hospitals etc., use their electronic devices like laptops, computers, tablets, cell phones etc., to make their work simple and fast. The internet has also made access to information easier. We can learn about the whole universe with just a single click by using the internet. We can easily communicate and share information with other people around the world with the help of email, instant messaging, video calls etc.

The internet delivers a wide variety of advantages. It not only enables people to share information but also serves as a place to store information and media digitally. This feature has benefitted the fields of education and research the most. We have seen a boom in the e-commerce business as they have used the internet and provided a seamless experience of buying and selling products online. It has created a large market for online retailers and integrated different business fields. Due to this facility, people can now purchase almost everything they need and get it delivered right to their doorstep in a few days. Many services are now provided on the internet, such as online booking, banking, hotel reservations etc.

The internet has made everything a lot more accessible and quick. Most organisations around the world advertise their vacancies on the internet. So, people can search for different types of jobs around the world. The internet provides different types of entertainment to people; be it music, movies, theatre, entertainment, live matches, or live broadcasts. It also helps students to continue their learning through online education.

It is difficult to name all of the benefits and advantages of the internet. This is because the internet has become so entangled and integrated into our daily lives that it has an influence on everything we experience around us.

Disadvantages of the Internet

Although the internet has many advantages, it also has some disadvantages. In the next section of the advantages and disadvantages of the internet essay, let us discuss the disadvantages and the possible risks associated with the modern-day applications of the internet.

While the internet provides us with all tools, products and services we need right at our doorstep, at the same time, it isolates us from the world outside. As we get more accustomed to ordering everything online, be it clothes, food, drinks, grocery, commodities, or even paying bills, getting out of the house has become less frequent. This has caused health issues and various mental health issues such as social anxiety, insomnia and even depression. Teenagers and kids are the most influenced by the internet as they are the generation which has seen the immense use of the internet. They are moulded to a life dependent on the internet. This hinders their learning capabilities and real-life problem-solving skills because they are accustomed to using their mobile for every task.

Today, the internet is the most popular source of viruses in electronic gadgets. As we perform various activities on the internet, we are exposing ourselves to various threats such as malicious software and viruses. Due to these viruses, confidential data may be accessed by unauthorised people or hackers. Some websites contain immoral materials in the form of text, pictures or movies. These websites damage the character of the new generation, especially kids and teenagers. A lot of time is wasted collecting information on the internet. Many people become addicted to spending time on the internet, like chatting with friends or playing games. A lot of information about a particular topic is stored on websites. Some information may be incorrect or not authentic. So, it becomes difficult to select the correct information.

From the information covered in this advantages and disadvantages essay, it can be said that the benefits of the internet outweigh the disadvantages and threats it brings. The responsibility to be safe falls on the users themselves. One needs to stay vigilant and perform regular security checks on their network and computing devices to ensure they are secure from any online attacks. Provided that all government regulations for safe internet browsing are followed and appropriate measures are taken.

Today any mode of communication happens through the use of the internet. The internet is a gigantic network that connects the entire world and brings the world into our grip. We are aware of everything because of the internet. It has its own merits and demerits. If we think of the advantages of the internet then there are many.

It helps us to connect, learn, contact, and also send messages to the farthest places. Without it, we are simply blind. Again excessive use of the internet is dangerous. It creates an addiction in users and pulls them towards harmful circles. Their lives are destroyed. Too much internet can create mental disorders. So we must be careful in using this useful product and maintain our own safety.

Today modern systems are controlled by the Internet. Without it, we can’t even lead our basic needs. The Internet is a huge global network system that has the following advantages and disadvantages.

The Internet provides us with faster communication to connect with anyone using different calling modes. Businesses are getting benefited because of the communication facility provided by the internet. The internet is now helping in online education as well. Students can now access many books online without spending a penny. Trade and commerce are easier now. Also, we are receiving information every day through online news. Online banking, ordering foods, clothes, medicines, and groceries, all have become easier due to the internet facility.

However, every boon has its own disadvantages as well. Due to excess use of the internet people are becoming lazy and homebound. The greatest problem with the internet is the lack of privacy. At any moment private information can be leaked and exploited to harm others. Youngsters are getting into unnecessary addiction to online games and dangers. Frauds and online looting are daily incidents. Bank details are often getting destroyed and misused.

Hence we must remember science is supposed to be a boon and not a curse. Humans are given the power to control the world of the Internet and save others from its exploitation. The internet must be used for overall well-being without any harm

The Internet is one of the most useful and important communication setups in our lives. By the internet, we mean a huge global connecting system or a network that joins everyone together in one string. The Internet has lots of facilities as well as disadvantages. Like any scientific invention, it helps in several ways and also destroys our lives. The following advantages and disadvantages are described.

The greatest gift that the internet has given us is the facility to communicate easily with anyone around the world. Earlier it was impossible to even think about this. But now with the help of the internet, we can chat, make video calls, send voice messages, and also entertain ourselves with different sorts of communication applications. Huge business organisations and other setups are getting lots of facilities due to the internet.

The internet again is used for education. Today online education is a way of learning. Due to the internet, one can surf through Wikipedia and different documents available online and get knowledge of several things in the world. Lots of expensive books can be accessed online through the internet. So it enables many poor children to learn better.

Banking is one of the significant aspects of the internet. Earlier people has to stand in long queues and wait for banking work to be done. But now just sitting at home, one can do any bank work through the internet. Receiving groceries and medicine of any kind online is more accessible due to internet availability.

However, the internet has several disadvantages and dangerous consequences. The world is extremely open through the internet and so anything can happen at any time. Youngsters get addicted to online games which harms them mentally and physically. They forget their studies and get involved completely in the world of the internet and suffer from severe depression and their future is destroyed.

Online theft and fraud cases are quite common on the internet. Nowadays all official documents are available online and hence due to online fraud, many people lose their hard-earned money. Banking frauds can also create dangerous results.

The Internet is also a place with no privacy. So people are criticized often and as a result many commit suicide for trolling. People become extremely harsh on the Internet and this lack of care for the other person pulls them away from nature.

So it is always advisable to use the internet with caution. Anything that is good can create a disaster at any moment. So a humble use of the internet is the best choice.

Hopefully, after going through this lesson, you have a holistic idea of this topic. If you still have any doubts regarding this context, kindly keep me posted through some quick comments below.

Thank you.

Essay on Internet

With throat-cutting competition, the difficulty level of various competitive exams has increased. Apart from domain-specific knowledge, questions framed in various exams evaluate critical thinking and decision-making ability, reading and writing skills, and  Logical and Analytical Reasoning . It thus has become important to focus on all the components equally. Just like the aforementioned topics, Essay writing is another crucial element of a wide range of entrance tests like IELTS , TOEFL , UPSC exams , etc. The topics for essays can range from Digital India and Economic issues to the role of Education and Women Empowerment . In this blog, we will share some samples of essays on the internet with you!

Uses of Internet Essay

By the term internet, we can decipher that it is a global wide-area network where innumerable computer systems are connected to a single network. From running a business to making financial transactions, the internet, which is one of the most powerful tools has made modern lives absolutely easier and simpler.

It is because of easy accessibility and global reach, we are able to communicate with people across the world through various platforms in a cost-effective and time-saving way. Not only restricted to news, one can easily send important updates, pursue online courses, watch live broadcasts, attend business meetings, and purchase and sell goods online with a simple click.

However, with good, comes bad. Despite revolutionizing industries, the internet also has risks associated with it. Cyber frauds, malware attacks, disorganised and unverified materials, identity thefts, unscrupulous businesses, etc are some of the major issues concerned with the internet. Furthermore, excessive use of the internet can affect both mental and physical health.

Taking precautions like not saving your bank details, installing antivirus software, regularly updating passwords, purchasing goods from verified websites, etc while using the internet can help you stay safe. Hence, despite being a double-edged sword, the internet is like a vast ocean, the pros of which outweigh the cons!

Essay on Advantages and Disadvantages of Internet

In the late 1960s, a global wide-area network was created which is now referred to as the Internet. With its roots spread across industries, it has become a quintessential necessity for mankind to live with. Not restricted to only establishing communication, but one can perform financial transactions, watch movies, listen to music, pursue courses, and go shopping with the help of the internet.

There are more advantages to the internet rather than disadvantages. From online shopping to online learning, the internet has helped mankind thick and thin. Similarly, from business units to schools, healthcare, and government departments, the internet has become a need of the hour. Connectivity, communication, and information dissemination from satellites and space stations have also become possible due to the emergence of the internet. Furthermore, the entertainment industry has gained a massive impetus with the help of the internet. Now people can skip the long queues for the movie ticket and watch any movie in the comfort of their homes.

Though there are numerous advantages, the Internet is also a double-edged sword which has disadvantages too. The emergence and popularity of the internet have given space for bullying and online stalking and trolling. Furthermore, easy access to violent and vulgar images on the internet has also given rise to crimes. Seen as a major addiction and cause of distraction, especially among teenagers, it not only causes mental distress but also leads to physical illnesses as well. Apart from this, the Internet has given major room for hackers to steal valuable information and intrude into other’s privacy. Identity theft, hacking, viruses, and cheating are also the main disadvantages of the internet.

There are advantages and disadvantages to every new invention, however, with proper precautions like practicing safe browsing, staying vigilant with the data you share, changing passwords frequently, updating privacy settings, and not sharing your credentials with others can help you use the internet with utmost ease and without any worry!

The Advantages and Disadvantages of the Internet Essay

1. introduction.

Based on the table of contents mentioned above, the article provides a comprehensive analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the internet. It begins with an introduction explaining the definition of the internet and the purpose of the essay. The advantages of the internet are then discussed, including access to information, communication and connectivity, and convenience and efficiency. On the other hand, the disadvantages of the internet are also addressed, which include information overload, privacy and security concerns, and a negative impact on social interactions. The definition of the internet has provided a concise and focused overview of different concepts relating to the topic. It explores different key ideas relating to the purpose of the essay and the advantages and disadvantages of the internet. Most importantly, it has provided a detailed and extensive analysis of the key advantages and disadvantages and how this can impact on society as a whole. The essay has adopted a clear structure in which key ideas and arguments have been developed in a logical way and there has been significant critical development of these key ideas to explore various pieces of information which have been written by different authors. It may be useful to include a definition of the internet or an academic model to explain how the essay will attempt to present a clear analysis with coherent arguments and critical discussion. This will enable the writer to receive a higher merit in the criteria "the impact of digital technology" because it means that the piece of work can be critically analysed and filtered to gain a greater understanding of the significance of the work on society as a whole. Also, it is clear that the writer has attempted to answer the question and remained focused on presenting a coherent analysis of the key advantages and disadvantages. These comments have demonstrated how important it is to progress the essay in a logical and critical way to reach a complete understanding of the significance of the work as a whole. It is also crucial to recognise how the essay has been written using a range of different authors, with "FreelanceWeekly" and "Computing.co.uk" being referenced. This adds an extra level of detail that goes beyond a superficial and basic discussion of the key topic. Given the current rate of technology development, it is no surprise that the internet is the fastest growing technology in history. Today, there are an estimated 3.5 billion users, and it is a tool for the digital age, offering a level of communication and information currently unimaginable. The internet is a global network connecting millions of computers, which allows information to be transmitted easily and quickly among computers. This definition has provided a clear and concise answer to the scope and focus of the essay. By specifically outlining the key advantages and disadvantages within the introduction, it has not only made the purpose of the essay clear but has allowed the writer to adopt a concise and focused structure in the following discussion. This will mean that there is no deviation between the main objectives and point of the essay and what the writer finally addresses, so that the reader can follow a clear and coherent analysis of the key themes as they are developed throughout the piece of work. Also, there has been effective use of language, with a clear and properly academic tone that has been maintained throughout the essay. This is important as it will provide a more coherent and professional analysis, and means the essay is definitely targeted for an academic audience - providing a clear advantage in the criteria "requerimientos generales". Most importantly, the use of criticism is prevalent throughout, making the essay a proper academic piece that effectively analyses the key information available on the internet.

1.1 Definition of the Internet

The internet is a global network of interconnected computers, where one computer can be connected to any other computer in any portion of the world. It was developed over 30 years ago in the United States and was first known as the "Arpanet." The internet is used for many different purposes. Some of the uses of the internet include communication, shopping, booking, researching, and much more. It is essential for the internet to be open and free for all, meaning that no one should control, monitor, or police the internet. This is what is meant by "net neutrality." Net neutrality gives everyone the right to communicate freely online. However, the United States is now debating what is called "pay to play." This could possibly mean that internet providers can be paid to make certain websites work faster than others. This means that a small or starting company will suffer because they might not be paid, and their website will work extremely slowly. The net neutrality debate in the United States is just one example of how the global debate about the internet is becoming increasingly focused on what the internet should be used for.

1.2 Purpose of the Essay

To begin with, I had not thought through in detail what the purposes of the essay were going to be or what I was hoping to achieve by writing it. I have so many ideas and thoughts, but I am not sure whether all of them are necessary or relevant to the question. I had mentioned in my mind at the start of writing that the main purposes of the essay are to show the reader the advantages and the effects and the impacts of the internet to our daily life. I was also hoping that I will be able to find the answers to the questions that are striking in my mind, like "Is the internet development as massive as this that we cannot live without the internet anymore?" or "How are the modern communications and the traditional communications different from each other?". With these thoughts in my mind, I was able to write down the main purposes of my essay – the different types of the advantages of the internet and the purposes for my research. Also, through this essay, I was able to find out that most of the people don't know how to upload... I wanted to explore the current types of the modern communications like e-mails and the social medias and compare them to the traditional communications. I have also put different purposes in front of my tutor. I actually need any revision from the tutor and I believe that will make my essay become even better. Through this essay, I used my own primary research such as questionnaires and secondary research for examples like quotes and the peoples opinion from the internet, books or articles. My tutor has given me guidance but I am always nervous with the time limit and I struggle with picking out the unnecessary information from my primary research and my own opinions. So I want to learn something new from his revision. I hope that the alternative perspective in a form of the revision will help me to go forward to the perfection of the essay and I cannot wait to see it.

2. Advantages of the Internet

Another of the biggest advantages of the internet is that it allows for some of the most effective communication and connectivity that has ever been possible. The reason for this is that the internet is an entirely digital platform, and it provides a level of global communication that is difficult to find anywhere else. There are so many different elements of the internet that allow for communication between individuals. For example, there are social media sites, which allow people to communicate and connect regardless of time and distance. Then there are also social platforms that allow users to share their knowledge and experiences with others. By providing these and many other avenues of communication with almost any corner of planet earth, the internet has facilitated new and more diverse means of communication, such as live digital video and audio calls and even online environments where users can interact with others in real time. In terms of connectivity, the internet has made huge advances in this area, creating entirely new fields of interest. For example, wireless sensor technology and autonomous systems have been greatly facilitated by the connectivity set up by the internet. These technologies can sync up with each other, facilitating huge data results and analytics in what is known as the internet of things. Systems that would ordinarily be working independently and offering less effective data can be brought together to work as parts of larger, self-sustaining networks. This kind of technology is becoming increasingly common and holds for some incredibly exciting opportunities for the future, such as in areas like smart homes and cities.

2.1 Access to Information

One of the main benefits of the internet is its ability to offer access to a world of knowledge, providing information and research on a wide range of topics for both personal and professional uses. This is in part due to the convenience and ease of access to this information that the internet offers. Unlike having to travel to a library and trawl through a book, or use up a lot of phone data on a website, the internet allows people to search for what they need from the comfort of their own home, without having to spend hours finding the right information. There are a mass of search engine tools out there today that can help to find the information that is sought and the majority of these are free to use and accessible to anyone with an internet connection - like Google or Bing. Not only does the web offer access to information at any time of day and from a wider variety of sources than may be available in traditional forms, but the internet also provides a level of interactivity that books and other physical materials may not. For instance, it is possible for the viewer of a web page to focus on specific words and phrases to enlarge text and images for further clarity. This is a valuable resource for those with visual impairments or conditions that impact their ability to read standard small print. Furthermore, some websites now offer audio materials, removing the need for a reader to be there in person, and many more companies and research groups are adding to the amount of rich content such as virtual 3D models. These all add to the idea that internet access to information is just one step in improving ways of teaching, learning and working, through offering new and exciting possibilities for all ages and abilities.

2.2 Communication and Connectivity

In the internet, there are well-defined communication procedures. Personal emails, as opposed to business emails, sent and received, are good examples. In a company, the business uses emails or Skype as communication tools, but your family will use Facebook to contact you. Emails have the advantage of sending long messages, and they can be sent at any time, unlike phone calls. But now, with the advancement in technology, we have the availability of mobile internet. Over the years, the web has been made simpler and easier to use. From the olden days of GPRS, now we have, if not all, the majority of the world having 3G and 4G internet. From allowing sharing to using the live chatting feature, the use of the World Wide Web has improved greatly. Skype, emails as mentioned earlier, and other social media like Viber and WhatsApp are being used as a help to maintain relationships. Using social networks has the advantage of connecting with a large pool of friends, family, and colleagues. On other apps, work-related groups are made from people from different places in the world to share and discuss something for the benefit of their own product or service. Also, social networks comprising hundreds of millions of users, connecting to one another, has become second nature. The possibilities of what the internet can do are not limited. This is where social networks come in, as it not only makes the internet more enjoyable but also as a powerful tool for marketing and awareness. By contacting your customer through social networks like Facebook or Twitter, many companies raise their reputation and customer base. Many people use the internet in the aspect of communication in large numbers. In fact, studies have shown that 76% of individuals use the internet daily. Also, it has been estimated that about 1.11 billion, comparing to the world's population, or 21% of the people in this world, have used the internet in 2006. This number has doubled since then and has shown that the potential of using the internet for worldwide communication.

2.3 Convenience and Efficiency

Convenience is one of the most important advantages of the internet. It is not only convenient, but also quick. The internet provides us with the convenience to do things that were impossible before. The internet is a treasure trove of information. Any kinds of information on any topic under the sun is available on the internet. The search engines like Google, Yahoo are at your service through the internet. Thanks to the internet, we can update ourselves with the latest news around the world. Besides, the internet is an invention of high-end science and modern technology. I took a lot of my free time by using the internet. It is a great advantage. On the other hand, the internet has more advantages. First of all, the internet provides access to a lot of information. You can learn on the internet. Online education has grown at a very fast pace since the internet was discovered. You are now getting educated no matter where you are, all you need is an internet-enabled computer and you can attend college. Educators can find materials for their classes on the internet. Also, teachers have a great number of things that can be shown to their students that they otherwise couldn't do in the past. The internet provides many opportunities. For example, one of these is working from home via the internet. People can work in the comfort of their homes which will save them money. Also, it's a great amount of time when you're working through the internet. It helps in making our future. Today's children use the computer and internet more. It is the responsibility of the parents to put in a check and balance just as they do with the other areas of their children's lives. However, this facility has been misused in many ways in our society. For example, we can get online shopping. Instead of going to the traditional stores, we can order anything from the shops in just a few clicks by sitting at home. There are a lot of online stores and sites that can be found by using the internet. This modern concept has made our lives more convenient.

3. Disadvantages of the Internet

Information overload becomes a concern for many internet users. With the immense amount of information available on the internet, it can become confusing and difficult to filter and process the information that is most relevant and useful to us. This may lead to an inability to make decisions, as we are exposed to too many choices and in fact some users may prefer to do no work at all. For example, a study found that when giving people a choice of chocolates from either a limited selection or an extensive selection, people were more likely to make a choice from the limited selection. This suggests that the overload of information can have a significant impact on decision-making. Moreover, the information provided on the internet is often out of date, and this type of information overload can be seen as a form of technological anxiety of keeping up to date with the most current information. This is different from the anxiety experienced from not being able to access the internet. Well-respected journals are now available on the internet and this brings about a very serious threat to the print industry. Some information which is made available on the internet is not censored as much as when it is published in hardcopy. Therefore, there is a potential danger of students or members of the public being misinformed on certain issues. Furthermore, searching for information on the internet often results in students being exposed to complex, confusing and contradictory information which cannot be effectively processed. In addition, computers may be used to give a new range of visual focus for diagnosing children as hyperactive. Next, privacy and security are big issues on the internet. Everyday we sign up or enter personal and private information online. This may be to subscribe to a service, join a society or even use an alumni email account. However, this information may not be as secure as one may think. As a result of technical advancements, illegal activity has become easier to achieve for hackers to obtain private, personal data. This personal data is considered to be extremely valuable for large companies, who may use the data to tailor a marketing strategy specifically designed for your preferences, thus increasing their profit. This can be seen as an infringement on personal privacy and as a significant disadvantage of the internet. Also, the capacity of the internet to provide enhanced and alternative means of communication has allowed for the increased circulation of copyrighted information. Passed as a result of lobbying, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) made changes to the US Copyright Act in 1998, increasing the penalties for copyright infringement on the internet. The Rt Hon Jack Straw MP made a speech in 1998 stating the new act "makes it a criminal offence, punishable by up to two years' imprisonment, to provide illegal access to copyrighted material with the knowledge and intent of causing loss to the copyright holder..."

3.1 Information Overload

Another disadvantage of the internet is that it can create a situation where people have too much information and not enough time. For example, a student can spend an entire evening doing research on the internet and end up reading far more than they would if they were just using books or journals. On the other hand, the key feature of the internet is its speed and ease of use, and this has resulted in more and more people using the internet for research because it is so straightforward. Also, the amount of information that we get about a subject can be too much as the internet allows information to be updated much more quickly. Books and journals are usually checked by editors and publishers and so the information has usually been verified to some extent. However, the information on the internet has not been checked in the same way and so there is a risk that it is not true. This can be very confusing, especially if you are searching for the latest information on a topic. If different websites are updated at different times then you might find the same subject but with completely conflicting information. This problem can be made worse if you are using the internet to find out about a subject that lots of people have different views on. For example, information about government policy or scientific theory could easily result in such an information overload as there are many different sites that could be updated regularly and only some of them may be reliable.

3.2 Privacy and Security Concerns

Another major drawback to using the internet is privacy and security concerns. Due to the openness of the internet, there are several means through which your personal data can be accessed and misused by those who do not have the right to use the data. Whether it is your personal data as an individual, data for the company or data about your clients, if it is not in safe hands, there is always the risk of that information being misused, leading to validity of the data itself being questioned. A well-known example of privacy invasion through the internet is the issue of site tracking. Many sites on the internet, such as those of search engines, may track your movements and use the keywords that you searched for to place targeted ads aimed at you, as a consumer. Cookies can be used to track you without your knowledge or permission and can be used to pass information about you from one site to the next. Viruses and spyware are a common threat to computer users in general, but in particular when you are using the internet. These malicious programs can cause damage to your data and your hardware and can also access the data on your system, or if it is a keylogger, they could obtain personal and sensitive data such as passwords and bank details. Firewalls and antivirus programs can protect against this sort of threat, but any kind of antivirus or firewall program is not 100% effective all the time. This means that there is always a risk, however small, that a computer can be breached and that your personal data could be accessed. In the modern world, data encryption is a very important and effective means of protecting sensitive and personal data when it is being transferred from one place to another. By using a code to render the original data so that only authorized people can read it, the risk of interception is greatly reduced. However, there are many ways in which data can be encrypted and the type of encryption used will vary. For example, some websites may use 128-bit encryption, which will be effective for most data, but there are means of breaking the code. As technology advances, so does the means in which people can mismanage data with the internet and so it may be the case that newer and more advanced means of encryption will need to be employed. As mentioned above, firewalls can be used to reduce the risk of data being intercepted. A firewall is a program that can be used to screen out hackers, viruses, and worms until they reach your information. By using predetermined rules to find the data transfer to and from your system, the firewall can decide whether or not to let that data through. Although using a firewall can reduce the risk of a breach, experts recommend that any system connected to the internet is protected by an up-to-date, active firewall. However, firewalls do not protect against all forms of attack and so it is important that firewalls are used in conjunction with other forms of data protection, such as up-to-date antivirus and anti-spyware programs. In conclusion, the information might be free but, taking into account the often substantial and critical disadvantages, it is better to purchase reliable information. Data protection should be taken seriously as there is the potential for a huge negative impact on a company, a customer, or a person through lack of vigilance. Jurisdiction for misuse of data on the internet is complex and can be confusing, as issues can overlap and involve multiple countries. However, an individual using the internet has some basic steps they can follow to try and protect personal information, such as using firewalls, passwords, data encryption, and antivirus programs. These will help to minimize the risk of data protection through the internet, but it is always worth keeping up-to-date with the latest technology and means of protecting against misuse of information. In fact, if anything is guaranteed, it is the fact that the internet will continue to grow and diversify with the means in which data can be passed and shared and this can only lead to internet privacy and security concerns being raised in the future.

3.3 Negative Impact on Social Interactions

Another disadvantage of the internet is that it has transformed society into a place where people are emotionally detached from each other. Obtaining information and knowledge is too easy. As a result, people don't need to retain any information in their brain. They can have access to the knowledge on the internet anytime and they don't need to put much effort into their memory. However, gaining knowledge through the internet doesn't require interaction with other people. This means that they are not communicating with each other frequently, which may lead to them not being able to communicate with others confidently in real life. It is found that people who have no real experience in conversation will have trouble in public speaking. As you surf the internet, you receive texts, graphics, and sounds instantly. These things will give your brain a signal to help you move from one information source to another, thus you will not be able to concentrate. Research has shown that internet users become more impatient and they suffer from 'information intoxication'. This is a symptom developed by people who become psychotic when they are bombarded with continuous new information. This has led to a significant amount of health problems like stress and many companies have claimed that employees who continue to have this symptom have underperformed in their performance at work.

Introduction

What happened before the internet was invented.

There are a lot of different inventions which, having interfered into human life, have changed the way people live. Starting with the ancient times, people tried to invent something new to make human life easier. Nowadays, innovative technologies have entered the life of people and do not stop surprising.

The resent and the most influential invention in the life of people is the creation of the Internet. The Internet has changed the way people lead their lives in many ways. People began to work, study, communicate and even entertain differently and this is the main contribution the Internet has brought into human life, as the changes which have occurred positively affected the way people live.

Focusing on the aspects under consideration, it should be mentioned that students had to study hard attending libraries, sitting there for hours and writing the reports. In case the mistakes were made, the whole papers had to be rewritten in order to correct them. Moreover, much information had to be noted and then rewritten again as the paraphrases had to be completed.

People had to drive to the places of destination just to share the necessary information. Much time was spent on informing the employees of the possible meeting. Moreover, the accounting took too much knowledge and afford. Considering the entertainment, people had an opportunity to visit cinemas only in big cities.

The information from other countries cost too much therefore, people could just be pleased with the local entertainment which was not too costly for simple people. The communication with relatives and friends who lived in other countries was conducted trough the letters which could be delivered for months. People did not experience any disappointment as they did not know other ways of completing the tasks under consideration.

The Internet has changed the way people work. Nowadays people have much more opportunities in comparison with what they had before. All the accounting operations are completed by the Internet programs and accountants do not have to take the bills to any services, the Internet notifications deal with the issue.

Moreover, the Internet allows to pay the bills and to share the salary, online accounting is spread and many companies use the services of online banking. The international business is run on the basis of the information technologies in general and the Internet in particular.

One of the main reasons of the low spread of the international business before the Internet invention was low level of control and interaction between the brunches.

Nowadays, the invention of the Internet allows people monitor the work of the departments abroad, run relationships with the international partners and solve the problems as soon as they appear with the help of the Internet. Most of the business relations are based on the opportunities of fast information share which has become possible with the development of the Internet.

The Internet has changed the way people communicate. Previously, before the Internet invention, people had to go to a person to talk to him/her, or to write a letter using the paper and to wait when it is delivered to the person and then wait for the answer. Modern innovative technologies allow people communicate with their relatives and friends from other countries without waiting too long.

There are a lot of different chart programs which help people communicate online in a written form. One person writes a message and gets an answer almost immediately. The Internet gives an opportunity to communicate in a real time. The video connection is much better. Using the Internet and the web camera, people can see and speak to their friends no matter where they are located. The possession of the required equipment and the Internet are the only conditions.

Mobile Internet allows people to communicate cheaper no matter whether they are, thus, the presence of the desktop computer is not obligatory. It seems that people communicate more with the Internet which harms human face-to-face communication. Many scholars blame the Internet and the computers in it. However, this is not true. People just communicate more with those who they could not talk to without the Internet.

The Internet has changed the way people entertain. Previously, to get entertained people had to leave their homes, to go to the theater or to the cinema. The appearance of the Internet has changed much.

Now, people have an opportunity to download any movie from the Internet or to watch a movie online. Advantages and Disadvantages of the Internet

Online education, communication, cyberbullying.

The invention of the Internet has changed the lives of numerous people across the globe. With the benefits offered by the Internet, there are several drawbacks, and society continuously debates whether performing different activities online is good or bad. The Internet provides substantial advantages in terms of virtual education and more efficient communication, and such edges overcome potential drawbacks, like cyberbullying, due to increasing society’s productivity.

The first benefit of the Internet is the advancement of the learning process. Online education is a convenient, flexible, and cost-effective way of obtaining knowledge (Dung, 2020). Attending classes via the Internet allows students to learn at their own pace when they have time and does not require spending resources on traveling to school or university. Virtual education also aids instructors and academic facilities (Yuhanna et al., 2020). With the help of the Internet, teachers have more time to balance their work and private life, while colleges and other institutions can reach more students. Therefore, the Internet makes learning more efficient for pupils and educators.

Another benefit of the Internet is allowing people to interact with each other better. Different online platforms provide individuals with an opportunity to communicate more efficiently (Sumter & Vandenbosch, 2019). On the Internet, those who are shy or introverted can express their thought more easily. Moreover, social media give friends and families a chance to enhance their relationships (Rosenfeld et al., 2019). Online networks allow people to communicate frequently without being constrained by time or place. Therefore, the Internet can advance existing and new interactions among individuals.

On the other hand, the Internet has a considerable disadvantage. In particular, using social media can have negative effects due to cyberbullying. The Internet has moved traditional school bullying to online platforms (Chun et al., 2020). Nowadays, teenagers often utilize the Internet to intimidate or oppress their peers anonymously. Furthermore, cyberbullying is considered to be a significant public health issue (Zhu et al., 2021). Being mistreated by their counterparts may adversely affect the mental health of young individuals. Accordingly, the Internet has a noteworthy drawback for the youthful generation.

To summarize, such benefits of the Internet as virtual education and enhanced communication, are likely to outweigh such disadvantages as cyberbullying. While online oppression is a significant problem, its impacts on teenagers can be managed by adults. Nonetheless, the Internet has improved society’s productivity by making it easier for shy people to communicate, for families to maintain their relationships, and for students to learn more efficiently.

23 Biggest Advantages and Disadvantages of the Internet

The Internet is one of the few technologies that doesn’t have a single inventor. It is a series of processes that evolved over time through the efforts of many people. The United States first started using an early version of this connectivity during the Cold War, using it to keep scientists and researchers collaborating with each other.

Now, much of the developed world is fully connected to the Internet, with home usage rates exceeding 90% in some areas. We use this technology for almost anything, and an entire generation can’t imagine life without it because they’ve been using it for all of their lives. Altogether, about one-third of the population uses this resource regularly.

The Internet really began to take off in 1992 when a group of researchers and students at the University of Illinois developed a usable browser. That was the same year that Congress passed laws allowing for this technology to be used for commercial purposes. Now we stay connected with each other through social networking websites, email, direct messaging, and more.

The advantages and disadvantages of the Internet are numerous and individualized. These are some of the critical ideas to review.

List of the Advantages of the Internet

1. The Internet gives us access to knowledge, information, and learning opportunities. The Internet provides us with an endless supply of information that continuously updates. This resource allows us to access knowledge in ways that were never possible in the past. That means we have more learning opportunities that can help us to grow as individuals, professionals, and families than ever before.

When you use a search engine, such as Google or Bing, you can ask almost any question. Then you can be instantly taken to a webpage with relevant answers and data about your query. We can watch millions of videos on a site like YouTube to learn something new, or even take college classes with this resource.

2. It connects us to other people in ways that weren’t possible in the past. If you wanted to communicate with someone without a landline before the Internet, your only option was to write that personal letter. It could take days, and sometimes even months, to receive mail from someone else. Items could get lost during this process, which means your words might never reach the person you were trying to encourage or inform. Because of the technology that is available on the Internet, you can send an email to anyone in the world with delivery in under 60 seconds.

Other forms of communication are also possible because of the Internet, including VoIP services, chat rooms, and direct messaging so that you can have an instant conversation with anyone else who has a connection.

3. Supportive communities develop online because of the Internet. Online forums are one of the best innovations that the Internet provides us to use. These places are a spot where people who share common interests can connect with one another. They can talk about what they enjoy doing, ask questions or offer advice, and take advantage of learning opportunities from experts in their chosen field.

It isn’t a task-orientated benefit either. Forums exist that provide support for health issues, childhood trauma, and domestic violence so that we can all work together to make the world a better place.

4. The Internet helps us to find where we need to go. The Internet works with GPS technology to help map and direct us to almost every destination in the world today. You can go online to quickly route the best path to follow when finding a business in your area that provides the goods or services you require. The search engines that we use are smart enough to understand where you are, even if you are not at home when making a query.

That means the Internet provides you with the most relevant information for each search based on your needs and geographic location. If you have the need to hire a landscaper, then requesting that service will give you a list of local providers and their websites.

5. We can manage our finances more effectively because of the Internet. Instead of receiving a paper statement in the mail, the Internet allows us to access our bank account information at any time. That means you can view your available balance, transfer money between accounts, or pay your bills electronically. It prevents payments from getting lost when you send them with a postal carrier while offering immediate compensation for those who receive the funding. This benefit allows us to save money on stamps, late fees, and other potential penalties.

6. The Internet allows us to shop for what we need online. Online shopping is another significant advantage to consider when evaluating the pros and cons of the Internet. E-commerce platforms let us find goods and services of interest, giving us the option to purchase them online instead of visiting a physical store. It also provides us with an efficient way to compare prices between manufacturers, companies, or platforms to make sure that we get the best price possible.

Public reviews about companies, products, or services give us a way to be confident when making an online purchase. This structure provides us with the advantage of having a better understanding of all of the purchasing decisions we make each day.

7. We can create employment opportunities because of the Internet. The Internet provides us with several ways to find employment. You can decide to be a freelancer and offer services directly to others through a website you own or platforms like Fiverr and Upwork. If you own a business, then a domain allows you to create an e-commerce platform that you can use to buy and sell goods or services. Since the Internet is almost everywhere in the world today, you have more access to potential customers than any local store.

The Internet is always on, even if some websites experience downtime. That means you have the potential to make money at all times because there is always a place in the world experiencing normal business hours. You can advertise what you offer to everyone within the specific demographics you want to reach with very little effort.

8. The Internet provides telecommuting options for employers. Having an Internet connection available makes it possible for people to work from home or to operate a virtual office. Many businesses today allow their workers to use telecommuting as an option if their equipment meets or exceeds required specifications. When employees have an opportunity to avoid a daily commute, then it can help them to save money by avoiding childcare costs while reducing the wear-and-tear on their vehicles.

That means every small business has an opportunity to tap into a global workforce of experts. Even though competition levels are higher than ever because everyone can access the Internet, you also have more scalability options because of the greater access to expertise.

9. Charitable donations are easier to manage because of the Internet. The Internet provides charitable organizations with access to a much wider and more diverse audience. Anyone with a connection can quickly donate to a favorite cause. It is also possible to fund projects or ideas that are interesting or benefit the public in some way with only a couple of clicks. The rise of crowdfunding platforms makes it possible for us to help each other at the same time, with memorial funds and hospital bill campaigns giving us ways to manage the high costs of care – especially in the United States.

The Internet also helps charitable organizations find the online services they need to make their efforts more efficient. These connections can also help them to secure more volunteers to do good things locally.

10. The Internet provides us with plenty of entertainment options. The number of streaming services that are available on the Internet today allows us to have a never-ending amount of content to consume. Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now, CBS All Access, Crackle, and many others let us watch our favorite shows and movies for a low price.

The Internet also lets us play games on social networking sites, through platforms like Xbox or PlayStation, and on independent websites. We can listen to music while we are working online. We can even stream our favorite songs or sounds around the house with Bluetooth technology. That’s why not having access to this technology can make life feel boring in many ways.

11. Cloud computing and storage expand our abilities to keep data. The Internet connects your computers and enabled devices to cloud services that include computing and storage. That means you have access to more powerful platforms to complete complex tasks while you or your business continues to work on other tasks. The rise of quantum computing technology is expanding the influence of this advantage, making it possible to create entirely new resources because of how fast the calculations occur.

Cloud storage provides us with the opportunity to synchronize data across your devices. That means you have access to your files from almost anywhere. It is easier than ever before to backup information, making your data secure on professionally-maintained servers. If something happens to your home or business equipment, then you can restore your functionality almost immediately.

12. The Internet of Things helps us to create a smarter world. The Internet makes many of our devices become connected and smarter because of their online design. You can connect a thermostat to control the heating and cooling of your home remotely or automatically. Your locks, lights, and outlets can receive the same upgrade. These improvements lead to a world where we are more efficient with our resources, helping us to save time, energy, and money.

List of the Disadvantages of the Internet

1. What can be used for good can also be used for evil. Anyone who has ever spent some time on the Internet has encountered abusive people. There are trolls, stalkers, and cyberbullying that happens regularly on a variety of platforms. Because it feels like someone can be anonymous when they sit behind a screen or mobile device, the filters that we use when speaking with each other go away. That means a lot of people treat each other unkindly when they are online.

Hidden places on the Internet, such as the deep web, can even make it a place for criminals to conduct business. There isn’t as much of a risk of getting caught, especially when cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin can facilitate transactions.

2. Pornography and violence are prevalent on the Internet. Although not everyone would consider this issue a disadvantage, exposing children to violence or pornographic images before they are mature enough to process them can be detrimental to their development. Teens who watch movies or listen to music that glorify specific behaviors are more likely to pursue them in real-life situations. It is an issue that can lead to drug use, drinking, violence, and risky sexualized behaviors.

Children who have sexual intercourse by the age of 13 are more likely to have multiple sexual partners, engage in risky behaviors frequently, and use drugs or alcohol before sex.

3. It creates an addiction to technological devices. Using the Internet can quickly become addictive for many people. You can find a massive amount of information to review, spend time connecting with friends on social networking sites, or play games while at work. Instead of doing something productive, this technology off and promotes something that is frivolous.

21% of employees in the United States say that they spend up to five hours each week on the Internet during working hours doing something that isn’t related to their career. Even when a company has policies in place that block personal websites during working hours, employees can use their personal devices to access the information they want.

4. People struggle to disconnect from work because of the Internet. The average employee, even if they are in an entry-level position, will spend between 3 to 7 hours working outside of their usual shift because of the Internet. Managers and executives put in up to 20 extra hours per week. Being available for work at any time of day due to this technology can make it challenging to transition from professional responsibilities to personal ones.

Even if you are not on the clock, a notification that an important work email is in your inbox creates a temptation to check it. That means workers are often being productive without getting paid for their work.

5. The Internet can provide people with your private information. With billions of computers operating around the world, hackers or malicious users can access accounts through the Internet to locate and steal personal information. These connections allow for a quick scan of millions of computers simultaneously to quickly identify vulnerabilities that are open for exploitation. When someone has your identity information, they can use it in unauthorized ways to gain access to new financial resources.

6. Students can use the Internet to cheat. The Internet allows students of any age to cheat on their tests or find ways to get around assignment requirements. One of the fastest-growing areas of e-commerce that you can find online involves professional writers who get paid to produce essays for high schoolers, college students, and even doctoral candidates.

Even if a student tries to be above board with their work, the prevalence of mobile devices today allows for Internet access while seated in a classroom.

7. The Internet exposes all of us to more advertising. The Internet provides businesses with an opportunity to reach a wider audience than television, radio, or traditional print media. It occurs on such a massive scale that many people tune it out because it is present on every website today. Many find that the amount of spam that goes into their junk mail is much more likely to get sent their way than a meaningful message from someone they know.

That means the amount of information that we receive each day is primarily useless. We delete it from our accounts in the same way that we throw away junk mail when it arrives in our mailbox.

8. Going online can adversely impact a person’s focus and patience. When we use the Internet, then this technology gives us an instant gratification effect. We can find what we want, when we want it, at any time of day. When we receive information through this structure, then it rewards our ability to search for data instead of trying to recall it. This process impacts our interactions in general, making you more impatient and less focused on meaningful activities.

The best way to balance this natural disadvantage of the Internet is to spend time away from it. Focus on having productive, real-life activities that include exercise, time with your family, and other fun events.

9. Frequent Internet use can lead to social isolation. The networking websites that billions of people use regularly can lead to issues of social isolation. It can also create feelings of loneliness or begin the process of forming clinical depression. Although the Internet and online gaming facilitate communication with other people, this structure causes individuals to disconnect themselves from their real-life relationships as they make new connections with people they’ve never met online.

10. Using the Internet often requires a sedentary lifestyle. If you spend too much time sitting, then you are at a higher risk of obesity and an unhealthy lifestyle. Most people use the Internet while on a couch or sitting behind a computer. Unless conscious decisions are made to become more physically active, a host of health problems can start to develop over time.

Using a computer also means that your body must go through repetitive movements frequently. A common injury for those who use the Internet often is called carpal tunnel syndrome. It occurs when you move your hand from your keyboard to a mouse repetitively, followed by similar typing actions. Keeping a correct posture, taking breaks, and understanding the ergonomics of computing can help with these issues, but it may not prevent them from happening.

11. You might decide to purchase things that you don’t really need. The Internet does an excellent job of reducing the barriers that people have when connecting to information or other individuals in real-life situations. That also means the entire online world becomes a place where impulsive purchases become a possibility. Many users find themselves buying things without putting much thought into whether or not they need the products or services in question.

Working with e-commerce platforms can become such an addictive process that it can lead to severe debt in some situations. Since a debit or credit card facilitates these transactions, it can be challenging to some trying to avoid places on the Internet where this issue could occur.

What will the Internet be like in 50 years? In 100 years? We may not know what it can do today, but it will be a life-changing experience.

Some experts say that keyboards, screens, and the mouse will disappear entirely as we use voice-activated systems. Artificial intelligence and machine learning may be technologies that manage multiple facets of our lives. The world may very well become a mix of virtual and reality, and it might be challenging at times to decipher between the two.

We might have real-time access to information about everything. There could be more ways to communicate. It might even be possible to connect humans to the Internet of Things.

The Internet has come a long way since it crashed when trying to send the word “Login” on its first attempt at communication. When we look at its full potential, it is clear to see that we still have a long way to go.

Children nowadays are more active on the Internet than we credit them. We can utilize parental control, block criminal websites, and watch what our child sees. These safety precautions are simple to get around.

Children may come across websites with harmful information, but they may also interact with various sound and evil people through numerous chat rooms and forums. It could harm both children and adults.

Compare & Contrast Essay: Advantages and Disadvantages of the Internet

Introduction

The Internet is a worldwide connection of computer systems over a massive network. The most common form of communication is one way, which is where a website is placed on a server and made available to people. There is also direct online communication via email, IM or online video and audio. There is also the middle ground where stationary websites are used as the intermediary between two or more people.

There are certain advantages to the Internet and certain disadvantages. How it affects you or which you feel are truly advantageous or disadvantageous are up to you. This essay compares and contrasts the good and bad points about the Internet and attempts to shine an unbiased focus on both sides.

It has made research a lot easier, as a person may simply hop online if he or she wants to find out about something. This is especially useful if the person wants to know the location of a place, or the opening hours etc.

Disadvantage

Nothing online is trustworthy. Even websites that are supposed to be trusted and are supposed to be reliable are not full of reliable information. Even major websites that are run by big and trusted companies are using writing firms to write their websites and the writing firms are simply hiring the cheapest freelancers to do their work for them. It is true that the Internet has made it easier to find out basic facts such as the location of places, but even that information is commonly incorrect (as Google maps will happily prove).

It means that a lot of people may now stay in touch with a lot more people. It has made communication very simple, easy and convenient. It is possible to stay in touch with people that you hardly ever see. It is possible to communicate very often too.

Some people use the Internet too much and forgo real life contact. It may now be easier to keep in contact with people you know, but it has removed any incentive to visit people. People pay fewer visits to other people because of their contact online.

It is possible to get basic information off of the Internet, but you must check its legitimacy as best you can. Treat the information you read online with a high degree of skepticism and you will be alright. It is also a good idea to use the Internet in order to stay in contact with people, as it is easy and convenient. However, do not allow online contact to start replacing physical contact. It is important to strike a balance between the two.

Two angles have been compared in both a positive and negative light. It is now up to you to decide which of these advantages and disadvantages affect you the most. The comparison between the advantages and disadvantages helps to identify the correct course of action and the correct way of dealing with the potential advantages and disadvantages of Internet use.

We can stay connected with our friends and family through social media platforms. It lets us improve the business opportunity too. It is easy to get new customers easily through digital marketing. But if you want to give it a professional look, then you should get an office. Work from home has been a trend at this time and it has been possible because of the internet.

Millions of people are working as a freelancer and virtual assistants, they can work from home. There are many companies that have no office and they hire their employees online, this is a great thing for them to save a lot of money. The banking system has seen a huge change in its structure.

Now because of so many online payment gateways, people can pay money through their mobile devices. The transaction system has been so easy that you can control everything from home with an internet-connected mobile device. There are many good changes that have come to our life, because of the internet.

There are a bunch of disadvantages too with so many good sides. First of all, it’s important to mention cyberbullying. It’s a very common problem on the internet. Social media platforms and forum websites are the biggest part of the internet, where people can interact with each other.

In that case, a big portion of people bullies when anything goes against them. They have no tolerance for power in them. And some of them harass girls on social media platforms. Spreading a personal video clip has been a common thing on the internet.

But it can take a life. Trolling each other has been like a trend. But every person has not a similar sense of humor and that’s why most of them can’t understand the fun and it makes a bad impact on their mind. We often see that some graphical violence is in front of us.

That content can make someone sick. You have to experience a few things that you don’t want to. Because of too much addiction on the internet, the level of depression becomes high. It is a big reason for the different types of mental problems.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion

Đề bài 1: The internet has brought about many changes into our day to day life. Nowadays we are doing things such as mailing, contacting, banking and communication much faster. Do these developments have more advantages than disadvantages?

The internet has transformed people’s lives. It has changed the way we communicate with each other, transact business and access information. Although the internet has both positive and negative aspects, I believe that its merits outweigh its demerits .

To begin with, thanks to the internet, people can now contact their friends, family and colleagues faster and more efficiently than in the past. Most people have internet connection on their mobile or computer and as a result, they can always stay connected with their near and dear ones. For example, social networking applications like WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter allow people to chat and share videos and other important information. Similarly, through facilities like video conferencing and webinars people from different parts of the world can now participate in online conferences which eliminate the need to travel to other countries and cities for attending such programmes.

Additionally, online shopping and banking have saved people a great deal of time and effort. People today can sit at home and buy their groceries, books or household appliances from online sites such as Amazon or eBay and their stuff will be delivered at home. Moreover, transferring and withdrawing money have become very easy today with online facilities offered by most banks.

On the other hand, a great deal of offensive and obscene content is available on the web and children have easy access to them. Many antisocial elements and terrorist groups like ISIS recruit youngsters through the internet. Internet addiction is another problem. Many people are now addicted to the internet and wasting their time. This can affect their career and relationships.

In conclusion, the internet has greatly benefited people in different ways. Although it has some negative aspects it can be handled efficiently by implementing proper laws and regulations and through parental supervision.

Đề bài 2: In the past, people stored knowledge in books. Nowadays, people store knowledge on the internet. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

Nowadays, people tend to store knowledge on the Internet rather than in books.  From my point of view, I believe that the positives of this trend outweigh its negatives.

To start with, using the internet as a storage for knowledge has two great benefits. First, the internet provides people with quick and easy access to a great variety of information. Whereas in former times, people had to spend much time leafing through numerous pages in search of knowledge, modern people can look for different types of information with just a mouse click. Moreover, with the internet and the help of electronic devices, knowledge is accessible anytime and anywhere . To illustrate, even while running, people can still absorb information from podcasts or audio books, which would be impossible with traditional books. Moreover, the internet allows people to keep more diversified types of knowledge. Since the internet is capable of storing audios and videos , nowadays, film and musical legacies can be stored and shared with our future descendants with ease.

Beneficial as it is, storing knowledge online also causes two main problems. Firstly, internet users must be aware of fake news. As anyone can post anything online without verification and repercussions, loads of unreliable information awaits uninformed netizens and supplies them with inaccurate knowledge. This can be dangerous in case the information is health-related or law-related . Secondly, intellectual copyrights are at risk due to the boom of the internet. In recent years, due to how loose cyber laws are, the internet has become a tool for millions of websites to distribute pirated publications in exchange for advertising revenues . These copyright infringements inflict substantial losses on the publishing industry and discourage aspiring authors.

To sum up, although storing knowledge on the internet has many disadvantages, it also proves to be immensely advantageous in numerous cases.
